New thread here!

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 31/03/2011 12:28

Oh yes, - what shall I do re linen shirt dress. Its a bit like this Boden one here but
maybe more fitted and with a tan leather belt.

Are linen dresses just for the beach or when you know you will NOT be sitting down?!

OllieWollieWoo · 31/03/2011 12:30

Oh yes - one more thing - I wore my KM trech on the school run this am (with jeans and long brown boots as raining) and 2 Mums asked if I now had a job! I said no, just a new coat!

blossoming · 31/03/2011 13:44

I am still a bit fragile around shirtdresses ollie, but meant to say before that I think linen is fine and great when hot. That mango one was a fab colour, but I don't know where they got 'royal' from!

Your poor DH too. Mine has been referred to a consultant and will probably need surgery. Lucky to get an appointment straight away. Downside is living so far from hospital.

I am hoping to do double Jillian tonight after trauma of non closing shirtdress!

OP posts:
carciofi · 31/03/2011 13:57

Bloss, I am sure the dress was badly designed, not that you need to shred more.

OWW, that's why I love nice jackets and trenches, they dress up jeans no end. That is a lovely bag.

Hope your DH gets well soon. And yours gets sorted out soon, Bloss.

DD very happy today as I bought her a Minnie Mouse shopping trolley so she is whizzing around flinging things into it.

LTEC · 31/03/2011 13:57

bloss you are uber-slim and it is clearly the fault of the shirtdress. Mango sizing very stingy imo.

AntPants1 · 31/03/2011 14:01

bloss glad to hear nothing sinister.

petit meant to say love love love your outfit. So stylish. What is your colouring?

Am off the GP this afternoon. DS cried all morning And refused lunch. Am worried tonsilitus has flared up. Problem is that anti biotics will make his gut worse.....but balance that with throat like razor blades. Poor thing. I hate it when they are I'll. So stressful.

I did suggest a possible west field meet this friday but I think that I will need to put that on hold. Perhaps in a couple of weeks if anyone is around?

apunski off to investigate. Georgette Heyer. A lovely friend of mine loves her books and you have reminded me to check her out.

blossoming · 31/03/2011 14:15

Sorry you're having such a hard time of things ants. I hope things get better soon.

Maybe if you make DH boiled egg and soldiers he'll be more likely to buy you the Tilly ollie. And it's a big birthday isn't it?

Thankyou for your support carciofi and ltec. I knew when I pressed the Buybutton, Mango, what am I thinking!

Zembo · 31/03/2011 14:26

Hello ladies! Haven't been keeping up, sorry!

Bloss must be the dress as remember I didn't even recognise you on meeting you because you're even more super-shredded in the flesh! I'm still on the hunt for emerald clothing. Quite a few bits in Zara now. I tried this dress on (much deeper proper emerald colour irl, but the neck bit was too big on me.

I'm going back to work next week so have been trying to sort myself out and psyche myself up!

My hasbeens in the cognac colour arrived. I LOVE them, instantly comfortable, but I need to size down so have re-ordered already. Really looking forward to wearing them.

I ordered this top from Flannels. Promptly returned as huge on me, shame as the colour is beautiful.

I'm on the lookout for high platform shoes like these to wear with flares. I did try the linked ones on but the 36 was just a bit big on me.

I've bought this Reiss top, amazing blue colour and have worn it a few times already.

Totally me post as haven't caught up! sorry!

bouncingblueberries · 31/03/2011 14:30

Just marking my place!

Been running around like a mad thing trying to get organised for going back to work - eek!

bloss sounds like you've had a stressful time. Hope your dh is fixed soon.

madamecholet I finally ordered your bag - I'm so in love!

Lots of lovely links as usual, will look at them properly later.

Navy Janice had her 1st outing on Saturday and was a big hit! So thank you again w&a ladies!

FritziGreenEyes · 31/03/2011 14:33

bloss OMG that sounds scary. Hope your DH will feel more positive soon.

notyummy/roary and everyone else who loves the chiffon pleated skirt: Don't listen to my neurotic big hip predictions. You will probably look fab Smile.

carciofi Please link to moses basket. I am desperate for links today! I am Shock at the woman slapping the delivery driver. What would we do without our delivery guys? If I could have my groceries delivered, I would ply the delivery people with coffee and chocolate and decorate a parking space in front of my house with flower petals. Can you tell how much I am tired of supermarket shopping?

Happy birthday to pickled-junior! Hope you have a great day!

FritziGreenEyes · 31/03/2011 14:44

ollie What a gorgeous bag! Definitely appropriate for your 40th Smile. Maybe just leave the laptop accidentally open on your DH's bedside table, so he gets the hint. Hope he's better soon. DH is working so hard at the moment that I am wondering how much longer his body will take all the travelling, long hours and general stress... Maybe I'll confine him to the deckchair at the weekend. The forecast is for 25 degrees, yay!

bloss I agree with LTEC: Mango sizing is very unforgiving and you are already shredded into fabulousness! Somewhere there is a better shirtdress waiting for you. Maybe you can get one in Rome! Or do you have to cancel your trip because of DH's operation?

ants I hope that GP has another idea for how to relieve DS's pain. Poor thing...

blossoming · 31/03/2011 14:46

Such gorgeous links zembo. Do you feel ready to go back to work?
You too bouncing. Must be daunting.

OP posts:
blossoming · 31/03/2011 14:51

No fritzi. He'll be on a waiting list for months. Best option for him would be go private and have it in June when it's quiet in work so he can recuperate. I'm sure he has more white hairs today!
Sorry to hear your Dh is still so busy. 25 degrees though? Wow!! Blowing a gale here.
School run beckons.

Bloss yet more confirmation that Mango is oddly sized.

Ltec good to see you - have been meaning to say I love the lion blog entry.

Mini meet at Westfield: I am going to be in London THurs April 28 en route to my visa medical. ANyone keen for that morning? WE could plan Royal WEdding outfits. Ants? What do you think?

Carciofi thanks for the skirt tip. Think I will do it, as I do love it and will have been paid back at work by then.

carciofi · 31/03/2011 15:38

Bloss, is he in a lot of pain? Poor man.

Yes Ollie, I think the bag would make a perfect 40th present. I will be 40 next Feb.

Hope you are feeling better, Zembo. Good shopping.

Ants, I am on for meeting when your DS is better.

Good luck with your return to work, BB.

Big wave to LTEC!

Fritzi, I know, it is disgraceful. I love Ocado. They even carry the bags into the kitchen. This is the moses basket. We are buying the Phil and Teds and everything else we need for the nipper (as DH calls her!) at the weekend. It's getting real now. :)

Nice bag Annie.

Roary, where is your medical? If I can get there easily enough (as I will have dd with me), it would be lovely to meet you.

fleecey - 2x elective CS here also. Lovely to be able to choose a birthday and plan ahead. I didn't have any stairs to cope with either.
Won't go into the -ves unless you askWink

PORTIA4 · 31/03/2011 16:31

Hi - sorry I haven't had a chance to read thread, extremely busy in work Sad
NAP delivery disappointing, Bloss's trench dress, really big sizing, I ordered a US4 and it's way too big, but a nice dress, I will try a smaller size!
Other Crew dress a bit shapeless and also too big, so that's going back.
Trousers great, but true to size ! I ordered a 25 and am exchanging them for a 26!
Got to rush, 'hope that everyone has a nice weekendSmile

dolceebanana · 31/03/2011 16:52

Quick hello as RL has been very hectic! But, bought some lovely dark nude patent ballet flats from Kurt Geiger this week and lovely linen jacket from Jigsaw...oh, and some Gucci sunglasses, all ready for spring/summer...sorry, will try to link later, if I get a minute.

Fleecy - DD's bday is 2nd October...great to know the actual date...and very civilised.

Bloss - DH had a hernia op a few years ago. Go private. Was fine. He even watched the op (with mirrors). Strange but true.

Carciofi - which bag are you getting for your birthday? Have you decided?

Oh and Zembo - sorry if I missed it but did you decide what you were having for your birthday treat?

DH has decided we are going away for our anniversary this year, bless. So busy finding a hidden gem somewhere....mmmmm......

dolceebanana · 31/03/2011 16:53

Oh, and forgot. Have ordered a Gant shirtdress for this year. V nice. They have lovely espadrilles Bloss.
