New thread here!

OP posts:
ApuskiDusky · 30/03/2011 18:26

Hello all! Marking my spot.

I will read properly and look at links after bedtimes, but wanted to quickly say hello. I am shattered, having had a 2 hour interview with a recruitment consultant; I guess they all make you think you're super-employable, but she was really positive so I'm feeling all capable!

blossoming · 30/03/2011 18:34

Hi apuski. Hope something comes up soon for you.

OP posts:
notyummy · 30/03/2011 18:49

Very quick one - back later!

Two pics on profile of new leopard maxi skirt with black tee. Question is style mavens - with belt, or without and t shirt untucked? Which one looks better?? Am planning to wear to relaxed work lunch gathering tomorrow. With either black flats or wedhes.

carciofi · 30/03/2011 18:58

NY, I prefer it with the belt, shows off your amazing figure.

Fleecy, glad the scan went well.

Apuski, good luck!

MmeCholet, nice bag.

Going to bed soon after DD as feel all shivery.

carciofi · 30/03/2011 18:59

Portia, what did you buy from NAP?

I love this blouse. Shame it is so £££.

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 19:12

NY with belt. looks good.

I haven't seen anything I've wanted to buy for ages, I think this Birger one is quite nice but not the best thing.

petitdonkey · 30/03/2011 19:12

notyummy - you have the most amazing legs.... I like it belted but it makes it more formal, would it work with a white vest in the summer? I really like it on you.
marsha - I think that 20 sounds perfect, I hit 36 once and would admit that was pushing it!! Gwynnie sounds fun, I would be obsessively watching to see if she ate or drank anything!!

I'm also with Morag in wanting to nosy about where you went. I'd so love to come next time but a) not sure I'm brave enough and b) can only imagine the Hmm from DH when I tried to explain!! Some of you must have surely faced that???

I'm feeling a bit drained as DD (2) has been ill for a while now - actually we are hopefully nearing the end of a 7 week period of children's illness. (Just low level stuff like colds, D&V, ear infections) I have tried so hard today to be kind and patient but I think she might know that I'm just pretending and really just want to scream..... Grin

madammecholet · 30/03/2011 19:14

NY with the belt, looks amazing...Smile...

I am also lusting after this...

military barbour

FritziGreenEyes · 30/03/2011 19:55

madammecholet The Barbour is fantastic but not very summery.

I'm compiling a S/S wishlist consisting of white jeans, new trench, wedge espadrilles, bikini and a new beach bag. And I just remembered that we haven't planned any holidays so far this year except a week on the farm in June. Maybe I should rethink my list Hmm but I don't want to!!! I think I am going to pass on the colour blocking thing and go all white/navy/light grey with pink as an accent colour. OMG that sounds pretentious...

notyummy I like the skirt without belt better.

ongakgak · 30/03/2011 20:07

Hello, can I join? I have lurked on these threads a bit, and love to shop!

have just bought this blouse
and wore it with soft cords and old gold ballet flats.

carciofi · 30/03/2011 20:14

Hi ongakgak.

Frizti, I like your list. Any links?

Well, I can cancel the doula because sil and mil are going to come to London for a few days after the baby arrives .... and call in for an hour! Hmm

roary · 30/03/2011 20:30

Carciofi the baby clothes thieving friend is very naughty. Like the advice about how to get them back though!

NY I really like this chiffony skirt but so does every fashionista in the UK as it is sold out. here

Fritzi ikwym but I love the whole rock biker chic thing. I have a barbour international and it has the same vibe - but am loving that one more...

I saw this as well today, so if you want white/navy - AND colour blocking beach bag Grin

white/navy colour block tote

Carciofi tell your mil and sil they have to stay for a min of 5 hours, and cook a full meal & vacuum for before they leave..Wink

CHOOGIRL · 30/03/2011 20:46

Hi All

Just back from a very glamourous wedding in NY. Took opportunity to do some shopping got some bargainous Houlihans in sharkskin for USD 175. EMO I have just ordered that AH bag. Wanted it to take to NY, but it sold out everywhere and has just come back on MyWardrobe. Still being avid, but slightly Blush to post links as way above the £250 resolution I set myself in January Wink

carciofi · 30/03/2011 20:47

That was the skirt in Grazia, apparently they are getting more in soon.

Roary, yes, she is naughty!

Anthropologie's sale is on. COH jeans for £69.95 if you are a size 25!

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 20:47

petit my friend took note! (she was with another hollywood sleb CD) weird I feel bad gossiping on here, How odd!

Am doing work...

carciofi · 30/03/2011 20:48

Good idea, MadameCholet!

notyummy · 30/03/2011 20:49

Thanks for the feedback ladies. I think I will leave the belt out znd decide tomorrow morning. That skirt is pretty Roary - that is kind of what I am looking for, except maybe a bit longer.

Marsha- hope work goes ok! Good luck for the party. We have had 15 to 20 kids at home for the last 2 years and this summer the local sports hall is taking the strain! She wants a pirate theme party, which I think is quite cool for a girl.

Petit- sorry to hear about the run of illnesses. It is draining isn't it? Hope tide turns soon.

Oh, and seeing as I dont think it is top secret anymore... We went to Purl for the meet-up. Lovely cocktails, but slightly too dark tbh and probably better for smaller groups. Still fun though!

Carciofi- your relatives are obviously chafing at the bit to help Hmm.

carciofi · 30/03/2011 20:52

Choo, please post links so I can live vicariously!

notyummy · 30/03/2011 20:56

Oh yes, welcome ongakgak!

Apuski- having met you, I am not surprised the recruiter was positive. I am sure she was rubbing her hands at how easy it will be to place you in a great job.

blossoming · 30/03/2011 21:06

I prefer it loose no belt notyummy.
That is priceless carciofi. Hope you feel better soon.
Great links tonight. Nice to have you on board ongakgak.
Could you send the coveted sharkskin houlihans my way when you're done choo? I wonder if I can get them cheap online from US ( I have myus address)?
Where's portia with the nap update?
Like the name change everyspring.

OP posts:
Fleecy · 30/03/2011 21:08

Glad you had fun choo - sounds fab.

MmeCholet I have that leopard scarf! Verity linked to it a while ago and I couldn't resist as it was such a bargain. Wore it to MOAMU.
