New thread here!

That sounds lovely pickled. How old is he?

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 30/03/2011 14:03

He's 4 Bloss, I can't believe it.

loobylu3 · 30/03/2011 14:05

Sorry to hear about your DS ants. It must have been v stressful for you. Hope he is much better now.

carciofi/ exhausted- thanks for NAP info'. I guess they have such fabulous clothes that lots of people don't need inducements! I have had a look at the J Crew website and want about half the clothes!
They have styled the Utility Trench dress in a interesting way here I actually like nearly all of those 'Looks we Love'
carciofi- with regards your friend and the baby clothes, was there an agreement that she would give them back to you when you had no.2 or were you giving them to her for good? I think it makes a difference because if she thought you had completed your family and wouldn't need them back, she would think of the clothes as hers if that makes sense. However, if you had always said that you wanted them back for when you had no.2, I think she is being v cheeky! I have lent things to friends (but made it clear that I would need them back). One friend lost two lovely pairs of IO trousers and the other broke my play mat (lost one of the animals and broke the top section)! I'm not going to lend again in a hurry!

annie- not sure re: the boots. Would have to see them on.

NY- leopard maxi not for me but I do like the shoes!

marsha- It is lovely to see the DC interact with their friends and with each other! DD (aged 8 1/2) thinks she might be old enough to pop down to the local shops with a friend. I think not! There was recently a nasty accident a short distance down the road and it has made me even more wary.

petit- thx for the feedback on the NF dress. I haven't got much up top so maybe it would be v saggy on me.

Good JCrew haul, ABO

loobylu3 · 30/03/2011 14:08

Forgot to say, marsha- would home made pizza be any good for DS's birthday party? Mine all dislike pizza (strange children) but most seem to love it! I also make chicken/ sausages with honey/ soya sauce glaze like annie and mine enjoy that. The children will all love it whatever you cook a long as they can have some cake!

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 14:10

Pickled that sounds lovely. I must admit I am let off the hall/bouncy castle thing as ds1 has a fear of bouncy castles!

Lots of party bags go out, and presents come in. You're right, lots of new stuff! He is so excited, much better when they get a bit older.

I am on phone to friend who went to one of those hotel bars we thought of, and sat next to loads of famous people. Gwynnie!!. We are going soon. And can we we go there next time!? Grin

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 14:11

looby homemade pizza sounds great to thanks!

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 14:11

too

carciofi · 30/03/2011 14:24

Pickled, I am thinking of doing a day out and cake/balloons/candles at home for DD too, she's 3 in April. She cried throughout her party last year and although she loves to be invited to parties, she hasn't asked for one herself.

I did say I'd need the clothes back. There was just one thing I really wanted back for sentimental reasons, dungarees that DD wore and I have loads of photos of her in. This friend is far from short of money and I have never seen her DD in the same outfit twice. It is not worth falling out over, I guess. I have bought the baby a few things on eBay as well as some new outfits. Another friend gave me four beautiful Catimini outfits so she will be well dressed! I went overboard last time with cute little clothes so will be more sensible this time. They don't need that much and grow so quickly.

I like all the JCrew outfits too, Looby. DH (who has zero interest in clothes) was just saying that he missed JCrew! He used to get most of his clothes there.

carciofi · 30/03/2011 14:24

Lovely dress Bloss and seminar sounds interesting, OWW.

notyummy · 30/03/2011 14:51

Ladies, I return bringing news from Zara

Tried on this skirt which was nice but I decided against it.

Didn't have the shoes I saw online in, so I may order them to be delivered in store.

I did buy the print maxi, which was nice on.

I also bought this v necker jumper in camel - which they dont appear to show online, and a plain black tee. They both go with the skirt, but also I dont own a version of either - and a black t shirt is pretty handy to have!

I saw lots of stuff I liked actually, including:

this dress

this kimono.

I tried on another skirt that isnt on the website that was stripey and v flattering - but just a bit too similar to the stripey dress I recently bought from Oasis. All in all a good trip and I am pleased with my buys - the skirt is long though and i think I will need wedges, so would be tricky for those who aren't tall. Slightly see through as well, so the 'spanx as underskirt' option may be needed!

blossoming · 30/03/2011 14:56

notyummy sneeking in a 'I did buy the print maxi'. We saw it!! Sold to a good home!

OP posts:
Emo76 · 30/03/2011 15:18

I am in love

I think it is the card pockets and built in purse with little gold lettering. Anyone seen in RL?

Have just been paid . However, obvious use of spare funds is soft furnishings, mirror, electricity bill and ISA!

ReineDeSaba · 30/03/2011 16:23

Am dropping in quickly to post as dd2 still producing nasty nappies and the new thread is leaping and bounding.

ants it is totally understandable you would be shellshocked.horribly scarey.

ReineDeSaba · 30/03/2011 16:41

anniemac I have pied de tierre OTKBs and my DH hates them.I like them with city shorts but does feel verging on panto.

oww I want to live in holland!..I love the sound of all the seminars you do,also I need to work on my shouting 'don't shout' at dd1 Confused

carciofi..I try not to borrow or lend..can get far too complicated so will do a straight give of stuff I can live without, burnt fingers and all that.

notyummy..I keep wanting to link you this..

www.amazon.co.uk/Biggest-Loser-Workout-Sculpt-Region/dp/B000WEVGHK/ref=wl_it_dp_v?ie=UTF8&coliid=I12A59NBUT3WB1&colid=3I9JJOA4N03EJ

huge congrats to mrsj and family..wonderful having a new baby in the family.

re-childrens' birthdays..I do find the whole party thing a bit sends me into a mini breakdown..I did 1st then not again till 4..think they don't necessarily need/expect a big tiz until then(depending on the child)..good luck ladies!

carciofi · 30/03/2011 16:44

Reine, hope your dd gets well soon.

NY, sounds like a good afternoon.

Emo, yes, I have checked that bag out up close and personal. :) It is on my list in navy (along with a zillion other things I will probably never buy!).

PORTIA4 · 30/03/2011 16:51

NY Love sandals not sure about skirt.
Carciofi How annoying not to get your nice bits and pieces back, I do remember being quite sentimental about DDs clothes when they were young.
Emo Great bag but ££££!
Ants Sorry to hear about your DC.
Black box just arrived from NAP! Will report later on the goodies!
Am off to France this weekend, DD2 has an interview for a school, need to plan wardrobe, may have a few new additions!Grin

petitdonkey · 30/03/2011 17:02

Emo - that's my birthday present (May) DH just doesn't really know yet Grin

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 17:05

No one else feels the gwynster love Wink?

Got loads of important type work stuff to do tomorrow. Am quite nervous!

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2011 17:42

I like the Zara stuff NY

Fleecy · 30/03/2011 17:48

ants that sounds dreadful, poor DS and poor you!

annie I have some similar OTK boots and have worn them the last two winters but I?m not sure they?ll stay around forever to be honest. I mainly wear them with leggings, sometimes with dresses. They are very warm though Smile

ny my sister and I have also applied for tickets to take DD and DN to the gymnastics. Fingers crossed!

Sorry about the house carciofi - no doubt there?s a better one out there for you.

I've been for my scan today - all looking good so I am booked in for a section on 3rd October. Yay! Good section stories welcome nearer the time, you know, how easy the recovery was, how it didn't hurt at all etc Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 30/03/2011 17:48

bloss Thanks for starting a new thread!

moragbellingham · 30/03/2011 17:56

Now that it's all over - is anyone going to divulge where you guys actually went on the MOAMU???
I'm dying to knowWink but not for any weird reason!

madammecholet · 30/03/2011 18:06

hi all, been drowning in dc's/work/dc's/work...(i could go on)...

Emo I saw that irl yesterday, it was sooo soft but a little small for all my gubbins... I have been lusting after this for summer, but worried I will wreck it with 2 dc's and sticky fingers..

cream bag

Fleecy, I am there for you when you need 'nice' stories, I have had 2, both very very fine....

I am currently in love with this new purchase...

LV leopard scarf not usually into copies, but this is truly lovely..Smile

blossoming · 30/03/2011 18:08

That is really near my birthday fleecy! Glad the scan was good. As I've said before, I've had 2 induced births and one CSection. Will gladly share my story (so annoyed with DH wheeling about in the wheelchair that I was walking around very soon) nearer the time!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 30/03/2011 18:12

ollie Had the same association like bloss when I read that title Grin. Enjoy the buffet! How did it go with DS2 at school today?

emo Are you going to stick with the dress you had planned for the wedding? Do you have a trench you can throw over for warmth? Fantastic AH bag!

carciofi Annoying about your friend but a good excuse to buy new stuff for DD2! Fingers crossed for ebaying DVF and sorry about the house. Hope something better will come up soon.

marsha 20 sounds a lot for a birthday party but as long as you don't have to do it all by yourself it should be ok.

petit I love the LKB snake sandals with your new dress. You will look great!

notyummy I love your avidness when it comes to maxis. It must be lovely to open your wardrobe and see all the swishy fabric inside!

portia Any keepers in your NAP parcel? Hope you have the opportunity to get some shopping done when you go to France this weekend.

fleecy Good news about the scan! Bet you are excited.

Nit situation is under control. Thanks for all the tips everyone!
