New thread here!

OP posts:

Roary! you totally do indeed Grin. Yes well they had a fabulous time (GP and CD) and ate loads, and laughed all night.

Today was good! No need for nerves. Ds2 great with friend. When I picked him up he was asleep in a big double bed with my friend's daughter. So lovely!

Now need to crack on with birthday prep for tomorrow. Ocado has arrived. Cake needs to be made.

carciofi · 31/03/2011 18:06

Dolcee, I like the sound of your purchases. Where are you thinking of going? My birthday is not for ages but DH wants to buy me a present when the new baby arrives, as he did when DD was born so thinking of this navy AH satchel, or this AH studded bag or a classic brown Mulberry Bayswater.

I have just been unusually sensible and put the money I had set aside for a new jacket on my House of Fraser card.

DD was originally offered afternoon sessions at nursery (12-3) but just received a letter from the school offering her five mornings, 9-12. The school is 5 minutes away. Do you think mornings or afternoons are better with a small baby as well? The baby should have a long nap at lunchtime but then again I'd probably get out more if DD was in nursery in mornings. Hmm.

Marsha, glad you got on well today. Hope your DS1 has a happy birthday.

carciofi · 31/03/2011 18:16

The school is a 5 minute walk, that is. I should be able to make it in time, right? :)

LTEC · 31/03/2011 18:18

big wave back to carciofi. "the Girls" say hi Wink

roary that's very nice of you to say. I was hoping you'd read it as I remember you asking about the outcome. Hope your moving plans are going well. I've been busily booking our flights etc. Excited!

bloss I meant to tell you - zembo linked me to this Splendid tank which I now have and love, but I think it's one you got too, is that right? Glad dh is okay.

blossoming · 31/03/2011 18:21

My kids were always better in the morning sessions carciofi. But then my kids are early risers!
I just heard Dh say to Dd in the bath, I can't believe the size of your belly Shock!
dolcee, you always find such lovely clothes. I find many of the dresses have a too low waist this year for me, or are in a denim/chambray, which does me no favours.
Shame about the order portia. A 4 was too small? You are tiny though.

OP posts:
blossoming · 31/03/2011 18:23

ltec, I did order the tank but it wasn't quite right on me and I sent it back. I can imagine it was made with you in mind though!

AntPants - how's your DS? Can I come and rest my head on your shoulder?? DD cried for most of today and I joined her a few times Sad am planning a very early night and hoping that she doesn't repeat last night.
Thanks for the comments about my outfit- I'm milk bottle white with dark auburn (dyed) hair. I'm thinking I could do with a tan to go with it but I vowed never to self-tan again...

I finally bought some Russell and Bromley ballet flats after liking them all of last year. I can't remember the name or find a link but they have the metallic twisty bit on the front and I'm very pleased with them.

anniemac - love that blouse.

Zembo - that Reiss top is gorgeous, I may need to follow you on that purchase. I also think that the green dress is beautiful? Is their sizing quite stingy?? I never seem to have much success in Zara. Am also Envy that your Hasbeens were comfy - I tried mine out on Tuesday; right foot was fine but my left fat hoof foot was spilling out and a bit sore.

petit come rest your head on my shoulder and join me in large bar of chocolate...sorry to hear you are suffering with an ill child as well. I am so pleased you have dark hair. I think that dress is going to look lovely with your colouring. I love it but being very fair it would wash me out IYKWIM. I really loved the LK Bennett shoes you are planning to wear with it.

Roary and carciofi how lovely you would be up for a mini meet. I usually work Mon-thurs so Fridays are best for me BUT it IS my birthday in the 26th and I have been a very good girl what with emergency dashes and generally putting up with being covered in sick for the last few days so leave it with me. May be persuaded to take the day off!!!

Apunski I have bought one of georgette heyer's books for my iPad. Historical romance!!! Fantastic!!

Marsha Gwynnie and Cam would have had much more fun if I were there, obvs.

Carciofi my appointment is in the West End, very near BOnd St tube. but I can go anywhere. I'm rewarding myself with having to trek out to do it by going to London for the day (I could have gone to Maidenhead, the joys). I can get to London comfortably for 11am comfortably and 10am if necessary. My appointment is in the afternoon. So Westfield should be fine if that's what works or I am open to suggestion, as I am very shaky in my knowledge of London.

Ants clearly being covered with sick requires a big treat. On that basis obviously petit should come too.

Anyone else? Thurs 28?

carciofi · 31/03/2011 20:25

everyspring, interesting, it certainly works for lots of people.

everyspring, Petit and Ants, hope the DC get well soon.

Roary, Westfield would be easiest for me if you don't mind and that's not too selfish. Ants, yes, you need a day off.

LTEC, pls tell the Girls I was delighted with the gift. :)

I remembered that two little kids (and probably more) from the nursery DD currently goes to will be doing mornings in the local school so it would be nice for her to know other children from the get go. Decision made!

notyummy · 31/03/2011 20:31

Will there be any bonkers road/tube closures and assorted madness on that day as they get the route and security finished for The Wedding? Plus mutters camping out overnight etc.

Wouldn't want a MU to be spoiled by a mere detail like a royal wedding!

MarshaBrady · 31/03/2011 20:34

teehee Roary obvs.

Still need to start cake! Last minute... bottles of prosecco champagne in the fridge though....

MarshaBrady · 31/03/2011 20:35

everyspring (love the new name) it must be a bit confusing, although must be great to get along even if not together atm. Best get on!

ReineDeSaba · 31/03/2011 20:37

everyspring love the new name.great to hear that XH doing his bit..exhausting to deal with sick ds on your own.

dd2 mending slowly but the bf like a newborn wearing me down..should qualify for 28th meet up but we are away so hopefully meet roary and ants at MOAM 2.

carciofi dd1 does mornings at nursery and has worked well for us.

bloss hope you are having a glass of something nice to unwind from the stressful day and dh is not too uncomfortable.

fritzi you made me laugh with your 'not spotting famous people sitting on the same table'. comment .this forever happens to me(well inches away rather than my table)..I missed Alexa Chung on Saturday..

zembo love your buys, gorgeous colours too.

ReineDeSaba · 31/03/2011 20:42

fleecy glad scan went well.

exhausted did you find a alternative to the pricey pocket t-shirt in the end..found a nice one at h and m for a mere 8 pounds..

ReineDeSaba · 31/03/2011 20:44

marsha important to have some fizz to toast completion of the cake..what is the theme? Smile

blossoming · 31/03/2011 20:48

petit those are the ballet flats I loved from afar, finally tried them on and they gaped horribly and hurt like hell. So I bought the flying nuns instead (high heel brogues).
Really sorry that there are so many poorly dcs on thread.

everyspring, do you have anything to tell us? Has anything happened??

OP posts:
roary · 31/03/2011 20:50

marsha courage for tomorrow (imagine French Resistance accent).

NY good point - we need a W&A with a military background around the place. Transport for London says no problem though as all tube lines will be running on the 29, so day before should be fine.

Reine sorry we will miss you.

Zembo are you feeling a lot better now? Will it be good or daunting to get back to work?

Bloss If Mr Bloss has insurance I'd be tempted to go private rather than wait around for ages and ages, it can be stressful waiting and if you don't have to that would be better. But sometimes waiting times can be surprisingly quick. Anyway I bet it was a stressful time - obviously qualifies as an excuse for the Royal Meetup!

Carciofi Yes, I can do Westfield. Have been wanting to go anyway!

Zembo · 31/03/2011 21:19

Roary and Bloss I'm feeling much, much better physically thank you. I still haven't dealt with all my emotions around the losses but that'll take a long time I think. Can't say I'm looking forward to going back to work, but it will be good to get back to my usual routine.

Sorry to hear about all the ill DC, sending everyone healing vibes.

Everything lovely to hear your H is coming up trumps!

Carciofi I really like the navy AH bag. Hope you're managing to keep the heartburn under control.

Dolce I've been totally rubbish re: choosing a gift for my birthday. Still debating it with myself.

Petit I must have narrowish feet, the hasbeens just feel perfect, already thinking I might need more than one pair.

Anniemac thanks for linking to the gorgeous blue platforms. I've actually been considering those too for the last week or so. I think they may look too clompy on me though as I have very slim ankles (wish I could say the same about my thighs!).

petitdonkey · 31/03/2011 21:20

everyspring - Grin @ the fleece!!

I would love to do 28th but as my children break up from school tomorrow and don't go back until 4th May it might be tricky... I've never been to Westfield either but am eagerly anticipating the opening of the Stratford version as it will only be about 30 minutes from me! Yay, no more Bluewater!

carciofi - the nice things about mornings is that if you can get the baby to sleep after lunch, you get a bit of time alone with them both. DD1 loves baking and it's hard to do when DD2 wants to join in. It's also nice not having to wake baby from their sleep to do the nursery run. As baby gets bigger you can do things in the afternoon too - I never get motivated enough in the mornings to do something exciting and be ready for nursery at 12. Love your DH's style regarding the 'push present' (I know, I know). I love all your choices but wonder if the Bayswater might have the most longevity.

Reine - are you not ejected from the thread for missing Alexa??? Grin

bloss - you obviously have normal sized feet if they gaped, they fit me perfectly and I have horrible wide things!

petitdonkey · 31/03/2011 21:22

ditto to zembo - my feet are horrid. If I buy wide shoes like Birkenstocks or Uggs I am a 38 but in a narrow-toed beauty such as Louboutin I have been known to go up to a 40.5 or 41. Vile.

blossoming · 31/03/2011 21:33

zembo, I can't believe there is a single part of you that is large!

OP posts:
moragbellingham · 31/03/2011 21:35

Carciofi - there's thread about am/pm in pre-school topic but I can't link to it.
V.interesting as I'm deliberating too. Giving DD lunch at 11.20-30 wouldn't work for me I don't think.

Think these may be on their way to me . Not too blingy etc. but would go with everything.
