I was almost blinded today.
Boots have a half-price sunglasses offer on if you really have to go past Per Una.

The picure isn't very flattering. The video shows how it moves.

Per Una as a whole is bleurggh. There are usually a couple of really good pieces within it that would slide into other shops collections easily. Particularly in the spring when florals are everywhere and this year when the maxi look is in.

bigTillyMint · 23/03/2011 15:27

Hully can you wear it for the Spring meet-up - we can all bring our sunglasses!

higgle · 23/03/2011 15:27

I think Twiggy is wearing this kaftan thing in the new advert - looks dreadful. I had something similar that I shared with my mother over 35 years ago, so it is a revival thing (I think)

Hullygully · 23/03/2011 15:28

Thank you, Pagwatch.

I do care when people snigger because it hurts. I try to pretend I don't care, but I do. They have no idea what life is like as a larger person. It is so nice to hear from another Larger Lady who understands.

Hullygully · 23/03/2011 15:29

Oh. I don't mean to be rude Pagwatch and your dresses are very nice, but they aren't really in the same league, are they?

LessNarkyPuffin · 23/03/2011 15:31

You mentioned your size????

I don't like kaftans, I do like it as a dress.

If you want to pout fine.

And for those saying 60s/70s have you seen the halter neck wide leg jumpsuits that are all over the pricey shops?

BitOfFun · 23/03/2011 15:32

I love the Margot look too. I am a little rotund to carry it off though, sadly.

wendihouse22 · 23/03/2011 15:32

Actually, as Per Una goes, it's Ok for hols.

I think M&S's design team sit down and think "I wonder what monstrosity we can market them into buying this season?"

It's incredible....

And not in any good way.

I feel a tune coming on..."....Forever and ever and ever and ever you'll beeeee the one...." Pass me the taramasalata?

MeRightYouWrongMeBigYouSmall · 23/03/2011 15:32

my question to the Style council....

are palazzo pants a no no? I actually saw a pair that I liked...

BitOfFun · 23/03/2011 15:33

Hully, do you go on many cruises? It strikes me that that dress would look just fabuloso at the Captain's table.

MmeLindt · 23/03/2011 15:33

Hmm, not my cup of tea, but the video makes it seem much nicer than the pic.

I am too small for maxi dresses, they make me look ridiculous. As do large prints.

M&S are seriously in need of help. I had a look on the website last week to see if I could find a nice dress and there wasn't one dress that I fancied. Not one.

Hullygully · 23/03/2011 15:34

I don't think women really suit trousers on the whole, even Spanish ones.

herecomesthsun · 23/03/2011 15:34

here I have an acquaintance who would look utterly stunning in this. I note that it doesn't suit Twiggy very well, however.

FairyLightsForever · 23/03/2011 15:34

Hully, I think it's beautiful, I wold love to be able to wear it, but don't think I'd be able to carry it off (boyish figure). Enjoy it, I bet you look fab in it Smile

Pagwatch · 23/03/2011 15:36

It's true.
I guess I am a little hesitant in my styleeeeee.
I may have to get a cigarette holder. I think that would work.

I am going to post a picture of me in the pink one when I get back from hols. So you know I am not joking.

Hullygully · 23/03/2011 15:37

It is beautiful, isn't it? I pity those that can't see it and make mock. How drab their lives must be. I love the way it brings a tang of the maritime into a room.

LessNarkyPuffin · 23/03/2011 15:39

Why focus solely on Per Una when this exists.

And Hullygully I was being honest and actually saying I can see that it would look nice on you. Not on a size 6 who would not have the frame to give it any definition. I admit it's hard to tell when I'm being nice, but I was, so ner.

Themumsnot · 23/03/2011 15:40

Oh well Hully, if you are a fan of the nautical look I have another maxi dress for you.

OP posts:
LessNarkyPuffin · 23/03/2011 15:40

A tang of the maritime???? Have you been keeping starfish in your pants?

Hullygully · 23/03/2011 15:41

That's a bit drab, themumsnot. Looks like something my brother's governess would wear, if you don't mind me saying. It's the beautiful swirling colours of my dress that make it maritime, not a sailor hat.

Pagwatch · 23/03/2011 15:42
notwavingjustironing · 23/03/2011 15:43

It's about £64.95 worth of overpriced kite fabric.

Butterbur · 23/03/2011 15:45

"It is like the sea, when you walk it shimmers around you like wavelets."

I want one for this description alone.

The colours are beautiful, and will look especially good under a brighter Southern sun, where pastels would look drab and washed out.

The cut is forgiving, and it looks cool and comfortable for hot days.

Themumsnot · 23/03/2011 15:45

Well, if you fancy switching from maritime to safari there is always this
