I have returned from short sunny shopping trip (try saying that after a few cocktails Grin.

Had the £25 off voucher for Hobbs so popped in there. I am not the biggest fan of Hobbs tbh, however they had some LOVELY shoes:

Liked these.

There was also some other clog sandals that I can't find on the website that were really nice. I didnt buy in the end, but think I may be back....

I tried on a few things but just bought a new breton! My old one is cheap and cheerful and starting to bag, so this one was a bargain given the money off voucher.

Also went into Jigsaw clutching my vouchers hopefully, but was all a bit 'meh'. I have gone off Jigsaw really, which is a shame seeing as I have loads of vouchers to spend from lovely Mum and Dad (although no expiry on these, so will just hang on to them.) Was hoping they might have a nice range of shoes, but not really. This dress is lovely in real life....but realistically I need no more dresses - and certainly no more flouncy Mad Men style prom dresses. I don't go to that many weddings/garden parties....and might look just a tad overdressed in it at work Grin. I left empty handed and resisted the siren call of the many lovely shops in that area of Nottingham. Total spend= £10. Result!

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2011 12:01

woohoo got the job and since they after my thinking and not time have offered 3 days a week from home!!!! Am really pleased. Grin

Got to sort things out! Back later...

notyummy · 22/03/2011 12:15

Well done Marsha!

AllBuggiedOut · 22/03/2011 12:58

Congrats marsha Smile

I'm sensing a lot of love for the Milly; I've ordered it and it should arrive tomorrow so can show DH in the flesh. I'd welcome suggestions on how to accessorise it for evening; should it be glittery gold shoes (here?!) and oww's apple clutch? Red shoes? Nude heels? What jewellery; will do hair up and a bit tumbly I think, so will need earrings.

Verity did you try on the belted Mango dress? It looks lovely.

They are nice Annie! Too high for me though....I would be in the land of the giants.

Looking for around the 3 inch mark - although I am sure there are many ladies on this thread that could rock those shoes.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2011 14:26

Thanks folks! Been years since I've worked so pleased am not unemployable yet!

Those shoes are lovely anniemac. Alas too high for me too (and fear of my feet).

NY, if you didn't have the vouchers, you would have seen tons of things you wanted at Jigsaw! It's Murphy's law.

Portia, I think I know who you are but not entirely sure.

Well done, Marsha.

ABO, I would go for nude or red shoes.

I like the cargos, Annie.

DD got a nursery place at the very good local school starting in Sept so really pleased. And no fees so more money for shopping. :)

roary · 22/03/2011 15:23

Hello ladies! I was so sorry to miss you all on Sunday. DS now better, DD down, but I think the reason I was so ill was the return of my periods (DS now 11 months). Slight TMI alert but I did work myself into a bit of a state about what constitutes a normal level of bleeding (Eek). Suffice it to say I would have been poor company on Saturday but will be there with bells on at the next meetup.

Marsha WELL DONE YOU! Very exciting. Do you have your childcare lined up?

annie I love those! But maybe not for £295....

carciofi · 22/03/2011 15:43

Glad you are feeling better, Roary.

Annie, those are very cool but I would definitely order from the US!

The Outnet sale is on Friday. Hope I can get on this year.

Congratulations marsha- you must have really impressed them! Lovely to have met you the other day.

fritzi and reine- you are very kind Blush The model is taller and skinnier than me and I think maybe the dress works better with a bigger bottom (like mine)!!
I don't think I managed to register everyones outfits, partially due to the dim lighting and partly the fact that we spent a lot of time sitting. I did notice the gorgeous choos with well painted toes belonging to hells and LTEC's lovely shoes and bloss's silk Bec.

V nice shoes and Captains annie

I have v little idea re London accommodation zembo. I think I may have stayed at the Holiday Inn (or similar) near Kings Cross on one occasion but other than that I have tended to stay with relatives/ friends.

ApuskiDusky · 22/03/2011 16:35

Congratulations, Marsha, great news!

Annie, I trawled round shops on Friday looking for just that - closed toe wedges. The closest I found were these but they are dressier than the MW ones. I am still looking and will flag if I find any, please let me know if you come across anything.

Thank you Zembo for the lovely compliment yesterday about my not looking my age; I was certainly looking and feeling haggard yesterday, but ds2 slept better last night so I did too. I agree that as a collective we definitely do not look our age!

I have had a sensible morning of returning things I am not 100% sure on - so a Banana Republic jacket, pair of boots from JulesB and the MIH Marrakesh jeans are all on their way back. And I'll return a pair of boots to Jigsaw tomorrow. That should all make the credit card look a little healthier!

And Emo, lol at bargainous stocks!

notyummy · 22/03/2011 16:56

Zembo - we are staying here v soon in one of the studio rooms with a separate sleeping area for children plus pool etc. Looks good - I could let you know what it is like within the next fortnight - depends when you need to book.

That is very impressive apuski. Well done. You definitely look no older than 26 Envy!
carciofi, great news re dd's school and extra spending money. House by the sea sounds lovely.
Well done on the job marsha. It's just what you were hoping for isn't it?
I heard yesterday that 5 schools are 'ready to sign up' for my A level classes. So 14.5 hours a week.
I'll be interested to hear how you get on in that hotel too notyummy. Another stick to beat DH with! Shame about your shopping, I still haven't been to Hobbs.
I've been teaching today in black modern bootcuts (Gap); Bloss top, black lkb Cardigan and the Pure jacket, and Dior prescription sunglasses. Can I still wear them?
I'm hoping to go shopping on Saturday to see what kind of rain hat suits me before committing! DH has said he'll push the buggy in Rome if it rains so I can carry a brolly!
On the bag front: still no curl! No need for frizz-ease.

carciofi · 22/03/2011 17:49

Bloss, great about the teaching. I have rain hats from Gucci and Burberry, all bought in the sales. John Lewis hats look good too and there is always Barbour. Or you could buy a Prada hat in Rome!

FritziGreenEyes · 22/03/2011 19:21

Portia Love the Shakespearean name-change Smile.

marsha Well done on getting that job! When are you starting?

notyummy I find RL shopping sometimes so disappointing. Much easier to click on links with feet up and a cup of tea. Hope something fab will come up for your vouchers. Like your Breton, but I think I have had a little Breton overdose and they are everywhere! I am also a bit over, dare I say it.... leopard print scarves, they are ubiquitous wherever I go.

abo What is the colour of Milly's belt buckle?

annie I get vertigo just from looking at those shoes Grin

emo Hehe, bargainous stocks Grin. I love how avid & wise is starting to influence the lingo of the financial world!

carciofi Yay for DD's nursery place! Thanks for revolveclothing advice but they do not seem to have any of the colours I like in my size. What are you after in the Outnet sale?

looby I think I kept staring at hell's toes and shoes too on Sat, so beautiful!

apuski It's always such a relief to return things you don't really love!

bloss Sounds like EA went teaching today! Congrats on job. Will there be a lot of driving involved? And yes to Prada rainhat. Look what I found when I googled rainhat: here Grin

blossoming · 22/03/2011 19:46

fritzi, they would be perfect! When will they be back 'in' I wonder Wink!
carciofi, Prada do rainhats? Are you serious? [hyperventilating]
