Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
mrsjuan · 21/03/2011 07:55

Morning everyone,

Reine Grin yes, bloss's beer in a paper bag was a classic!

I had a wonderful time - great to meet so many gorgeous but intelligent and friendly ladies. Thank you NY for doing such a fab job with the organisation.

Sorry that the Trilogy trip wasn't more successful OWW - I did wonder if you'd make it all Grin

Hope everyone got home ok. DH insisted on going out for an early dinner last night whilst the PILs still had DD and I nearly fell asleep in my dinner!

OllieWollieWoo · 21/03/2011 08:17

Morning.
Had a good trip home. DH said I looked very pale tho (he should have seen me at the hotel breakfast before i crawled back to the room!!!) Really cannot figure out what happened - how can I have had the worse hangover ever without being drunk?! I'm blaming the WooWoo Emo Wink

I loved seeing everyones dresses but the shoes were amazing! I especially loved everything's blue ribbon ones, choos sparkly ones, Hells's snakeskin ones and LTEC's bronze/pewter (? lighting was terrible) ones. Gorgeous. Has inspired me to invest on a pair of something special - once I learn to walk in heels!

I'm really glad Fritzi and Kildare were with me at Trilogy as I'm sure I would have been talked into buying if I was on my own! Tried some nice Paige bootcut jeans on which did wonders for my waist and bum but were far too long and flare-like. I ended up picking up some navy skinny cargos from Next (think Mrs CB has some too) as a stop gap before I get some houlihans. Obviously they are not exactly the same and lack the zip detail but a good fit. Kildare they also come in white if you didnt find any white houlihans?

Enough of my waffle. Back to reality and changing the beds, laundry and supermarket shop! Sigh.

OllieWollieWoo · 21/03/2011 08:22

Oh yes - this is the AMAZING Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturiser here (tho Zembo - your lovely comment re my glowing skin was probably more to do with the hot flush I was having due to temperature in hotel room!!!).

I also tracked down some dark grey mascara after being sent all over the Selfridges beauty department from one counter to another from YSL (Number 8) which is very good tho difficult to remove!

notyummy · 21/03/2011 08:42

Annie- glad your party went well. Sounds like you looked gorgeous!

Bloss- thanks so much for the bikini link. Alas they have none in my size (32AAor 32 A on a good day!) however they seem to have a wide range so I will have a look through the other ones.

carciofi · 21/03/2011 10:00

Sounds like a great night and that your party went well, Annie.

Verity, yes, the result cheered him up. Also, my friend told him he looks about 35 at most (and it is true) so he's happy enough again!

Thanks Everything, they look good. Funny, just saw red and blue espadrilles in a shop nearby, as I was coming home from leaving DD to preschool. I will inspect further when it warms up. Next on my list is the Maxmara jacket (eBay permitting). Would also like a navy Burberry though that may have to wait.

We saw a great house in Dublin and very tempted to go for it though weren't planning to go back for another two years or so.

OWW, does the tinted moisturiser stay on well? I will need something for the summer when I will no doubt be looking sleep-deprived and haggard.

VerityBrulee · 21/03/2011 10:11

Did anyone take photos? I would LOVE to see the outfits!

OWW sorry you were feeling grotty but good to hear you made a quick recovery. That LM looks like good stuff, I think I'll seek that out, I'm looking a bit paler than usual, which is almost transparent.

Fritzi did you get to Anthropologie? Hope you had an easy trip home.

Wow, Kildare you are a brave woman looking for white houlis, sounds like you have the figure for them though!

NY just wanted to add my thanks for yor great organisation, you are fab Smile

Annie I hope I look as glam as you next weekend, I'm hosting a princesses tea party for 15 6 to 7 year olds. DD wants one of those cakes with the doll in the centre and the cake as a crinoline IYKWIM. I made one last year, took a 10 egg victoria sponge mixture to make the skirt! The following week I'll be catering for 10 12-13 yr old boys after a paint-ball party. From one extreme to the other!

Dh has a day off today as I was supposed to be away, so I am going to have a leisurely trip into town and might buy a little something to make up for lack of MOAMU Wink

VIN fingers crossed you have a good day today Smile

VerityBrulee · 21/03/2011 10:19

Ooh Carciofi that's exciting, house prices are a shadow of what they were a few years ago, so good time to buy, although I have heard economists say they will fall a lot further. In the next 12-18 mths thousands of people are expected to default on their mortgages and the glut of houses on the market should drive prices down further. Also, it's a very depressing place to be ATM, lots of empty shops and huge unemployment esp among the middle classes, many, many unemployed solicitors, architects, etc.

Sorry I don't mean to put you off!

carciofi · 21/03/2011 11:38

Hi Verity, don't worry, I know how depressing it is. The big downside is that DH would have to live here for work and come home at weekends so we may delay until the baby is older for that reason. Have heard that prices will fall further but this house is a steal as it is in rag order. It is right opposite the sea though and very close to my dad. Enjoy your trip into town.

blossoming · 21/03/2011 12:06

Hi everyone. Feeling a little better. Slept from 8.30 last night till 6.30 this morning! Was really tired (not hungover, honest!)
Was thinking I would look out for a rain hat to go with my new trench. Anyone seen anything?
fritzi are you back safe?

FritziGreenEyes · 21/03/2011 12:37

Yes, yes I'm back! Battery on my iPhone was flat on way home and I thought it would be a bit rude to settle down on the sofa with laptop when I got home last night.

It was so great to meet you all and thanks notyummy for organising it all! So many lovely outfits. Everyone just looked sensational and was incredibly lovely! Choo, you really should have taken off your fab trench and given us a twirl in your VW dress!!! Oh, and a pink iPhone cover Smile

Trip to Trilogy was actually quite good as we did not let them pressure us into buying anything. Kildare looked spectacular in white jeans as did ollie in Houlis. I loved the Houlis too, but I'm not sure about the colour yet. Splurged on a pair of straight indigo Goldsign jeans in Selfridges and some Mac Cosmetics at the airport.

Verity Glad you are better. Maybe you can have a mini meet-up with some of the ladies in your area.

ReineDeSaba · 21/03/2011 13:22

Eek!have been emptying out bag from Saturday night and have a horrible feeling I never actually paid for my last 2 drinks as although remember the money in my hand am now wondering if I drunkenly absentmindedly stuffed it back into my bag..please pm me if you paid a bill that you don't think was yours and I can paypal you.. Blush especially as I was teasing notyummy about her 'runner' last time.

ReineDeSaba · 21/03/2011 13:24

annie sounds like a fab do..my DD2's first birthday party this weekend,am spending far too much time deliberating what I should wear, rather than food and drink shopping list.

ReineDeSaba · 21/03/2011 13:37

MrsJ have you got your holiday wardrobe sorted yet?..I need some inspiration for our California trip.Found everyones' capsule wardrobe lists very helpful last year and for once wore everything I packed.

OWW I love a statement shoe(mwah) but maybe avoid the 'killer' heel height I went for..managed to trip on the stairs in 5' CLS before a drink! Also I didn't mingle at MOAM as much I should have as walking in them was such a challenge!

carciofi MOAM was my dh's birthday weekend too but we will celebrate next weekend instead..he has very helpfuly kept moaning about the downhill slide to forty(he is 5 years younger than me and I am post 40grrr Grin )A house by the sea is heaven for me.

Hope you find yourself a little treat today VB ..and roary and DT you were all missed. No photos so I guess that means we can reuse our outfits at The Sequel.

AllBuggiedOut · 21/03/2011 13:58

Welcome back MOAMU-ers! Did anyone take photos? PM me please!

blossoming · 21/03/2011 14:07

I think I have successfully taken the curl out of my handbag straps with my hairstraightners.
Thank you wise pickled.

blossoming · 21/03/2011 14:08

Sorry for non photos abo and verity. There were no takers unfortunately. Although I did suggest taking some from the neck down!

AllBuggiedOut · 21/03/2011 14:14

LOL bloss!

Pics of me in the Tibi on profile btw. Any thoughts please?

blossoming · 21/03/2011 14:18

That is lovely abo. Have you got new shoes too?

Zembo · 21/03/2011 14:19

Abo the lighting was far too non-existent for photography!

Bloss you brave lady taking the hair straightners to your gorgeous bag.

Bit annoyed that I missed some of the amazing shoes (and pink iphone cover), again probably due to the darkness Grin. Reine your CLs sound amazing. Love killer heels!

Annie well done on a successful weekend, sounds very busy indeed!

Fleecy and Everything every girl needs a Burberry trench- an indispensible item I think. Can't believe it's taken me this long to love one. I had one from Zara a few years ago but didn't get on with it.

ReineDeSaba · 21/03/2011 14:26

Keels over at thought of straighteners touching Chanel handbag.

I can't see you ABO

The Burberry trench is indeed delectable..we shared a cab home(and Choo too of course Grin )

AllBuggiedOut · 21/03/2011 14:42

You should be able to now reine

Thanks bloss - shoes found at back of cupboard. Would buy new ones for party!

Fell in love with this in Harvey Nics, but it's not very "evening". Felt amazing though Confused

blossoming · 21/03/2011 14:57

That is also a lovely dress abo and quite unusual.

reine, it was my Russell & Bromley day bag! The handles end in a buckle and the end of the straps have always curled. Felt I should have taken it back because it wasn't cheap. Few years ago now. But I think I may have cracked it!

zembo, did you say it was single breasted, the trench?

Hope you're having a good time shopping verity. Talking about raspberry, I came accross this raspberry rain hat in John Lewis earlier!

pickledsiblings · 21/03/2011 15:53

Bloss, alas 'twas some other wise lady who recommended straighteners (NY?), my idea was to use some Blu-Tack Grin. Glad you got it sorted.

ABO, thumbs up for the dress. Now for the shoes...
