Thanks for that Smile

OllieWollieWoo · 18/03/2011 14:17

Rain? Rain you say? Ok, I am now officially in tizville too! I can't be coping with rain as well! Will now seek out umbrella to pack.
Have narrowed coat selection down to either short navy woollen one or thigh length stone mac. Neither v stylish and most definately do not go with dress but comfortable. Shoes are either black biker boots or long brown ones - both flat (and in need of a polish!)

Kildaire - I land at just gone 9am but then have to faff getting shuttle to the terminal with the Gatwick Express - know I will get all uptight about it as I once I land, I just want to be where I want to be and not bother with trains/tubes etc! I will have my pained looking face on!

Shall I bring some Dutch cheese for nibbles for guests in chez Ollie/Fritzi??? As the Dutch say, it aint a party without cheese!

Zembo · 18/03/2011 14:21

Great news on the house MrsCB!!

Kildare I've more or less decided on my Burberry mac for daytime. Might need a cashmere layer underneath it though! The other more sensible (warmer) option is my stone coloured Comptoir cotton duffle, but I really feel like wearing colour at the moment.

NY have you decided to size up on your case to accomodate your toileries? Grin. I've decided to minimise things as much as poss to fit into my small case that I take as hand luggage on flights. Soooooo....I'm going to be in my new Top Shop flares on both days, just with a change of tops. Bloss please could you let me know if the flares look totally naff so that I can ebay if necessary on my return Smile

Zembo · 18/03/2011 14:22

Sorry don't know what happened there with the bolding!

DolceeBanana · 18/03/2011 14:27

Wishing you all a fabulous MOAMU tomorrow!

dh back tonight, so have decided Waitrose curry and champagne order of the day.

viewed fab house this morning...though was very reserved with agent...dh would have been mightily impressed with my nonchalance. They now do not think they've got it in the bag with me. Might even make an offer - dh will need to see first, of course. Would be low offer though. We shall see. It's all a game.

i have the khaki Houlihans and they are gorgeous. Like the navy too.

bloss Cooking? How do you get it all done?

ollie Weather forecast says no rain!

kildare I'd say go for the trench.

dolcee Good news on the house!

zembo Looking forward to admiring your pink Burberry trench! What kind of shoes are you wearing with your flares?

KILDARE4 · 18/03/2011 14:53

OWW Am in airport at same time - I'll look out for the lady with the big cheese!Grin I'll be the lady with multiple coats on!

carciofi · 18/03/2011 14:55

MrsCB, we will be style twins! I can't wait to wear the Houlihans. I couldn't wear them until it warmed up anyway as they are cropped on me.

NY, outfit sounds great. Have fun.

I had to go to the hospital for a glucose tolerance test but went to Westfield for the two hours before the second blood test so it was a good morning! If anyone is looking for pink jeans, Day Birger et Mikkelsen have a nice pair. I can't find them online.

Tried on the Maxmara jacket and I really like it so need to find more to eBay.

DH has taken DD out so going to read Elle in peace.

Hope you all have a blast at MOAMU tomorrow and sorry I will miss it.

carciofi · 18/03/2011 14:56

Dolcee, good luck with the house.

blossoming · 18/03/2011 15:02

You lucky thing carciofi. When I had my glucose test, I had to sit in an empty waiting room for 2 hours. They would not let me leave!
Sorry you'll miss tomorrow. Hope you have a good time with your dh.

I think I've nailed it.
(re clothes for tomorrow, courtesy of Poetry Fashion. I kid you not.)
Lol at cheese chez ollie/fritzi

zembo. I am sure you will look amazing. I think shorter people look better than mid-height (ie me, in flares!)

carciofi · 18/03/2011 15:14

Bloss, I picked the hospital because it was close to Westfield! Well, not really but it is a bonus.Grin What are you wearing tomorrow? I am wearing your dressy Formes top tomorrow night so thanks again!

I've never worn a maxi dress but NY is inspiring me and I thought this looked nice.

loobylu3 · 18/03/2011 15:22

Haven't got time to catch up yet but wanted to thank bloss for link to red's jbrands- v cool and to sympathise with carciofi re unsupportive MIL. We had to take DD1 (2 1/2 years) to the hospital for the birth of DS as we had moved to the Isle of Wight when I was 37/40 (not by choice) and didn't know anyone. We had to wake her up at around 11pm and pop her in the car. She was in the delivery suite all the time (luckily only a couple of hours) so poor DH had two women to look after instead of one!
There are some very funny pics taken just after delivery which were supposed to be of the new baby but nearly all of them are of DD1 in front of DS and I with the biggest grin you can imagine!

Zembo · 18/03/2011 15:24

Fritzi the fact that I'm not a size 4 will be very apparant when you see me! I haven't really got the proper footwear yet so will be wearing a pair of R&B shoeboots (which are well hidden underneath the flares). What I really need are some mega platform wedges or those cork 70's type heels - this is my one opportunity to have long legs using well hidden heels Grin

Bloss intrigued re: what you're wearing too! Really don't feel like I look anywhere near amazing at the moment. Made worse by going on a meal out last night with my impossibly glam Asian friends. I suppose it's not their faults that they have flawless skin, sumptuous thick glossy hair, beautiful eye etc etc Sad. Seriously have felt a bit flat after seeing too much beauty last night - goodness knows how I'll feel by Sunday morning!!!!

Everything good for you on returning ebay items sold with dodgy descriptions.

roary · 18/03/2011 15:34

Hi ladies
DH has decided to play with our internet connection. Now it's broken and Orange has been down in our area too. Fun times!

MOAMU ladies: I know zembo mentioned eating, is anyone else going to want to eat at about 6:30-7?

But my MOAMU attendance is up in the air as DS sick and DH is a total panicker and I don't know if I can deal with stressed out phone calls....will give DH pep talk and hope DS gets better.

blossoming · 18/03/2011 15:40

Oh dear roary. Hope it sorts itself out. My DH said in a wailing voice last night, 'don't leave us'. Honestly. Men.

I am not looking at all glamorous. I am looking haggard at 40. I hope Frank can work some miracles before lunch, and MAC can distract with some fabulous eye make-up!
What I've decided on is my indigo jbrands with a linen jersey vest in slate. Just arrived, it's lovely, my favourite colour. Then maybe a lightweight cardigan, and either my black blazer, with a parka to be stuffed in my handbag and big scarf, or my padded Hobbs jacket in black. Could be a bit hot round Selfridges though.
Night, I'm going short and black, with massive shoeboots and Pure jacket.

dolcee, fingers crossed for you.

blossoming · 18/03/2011 15:44

Have decided. With sleeves rolled up on blazer, and no cardigan.

PlumSykes · 18/03/2011 15:51

Have a wonderful meet-up, gorgeous gals! xx

OllieWollieWoo · 18/03/2011 16:15

Bloss outfit sounds lovely - I love the colour palette of the Poetry stuff. Sure you don't look haggard - several late nights have impacted on my face tho! Am heading straight to John Lewis tomorrow for some Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturiser!

My shoe boots seem to fill my trolley case! May not be able to bring black jacket for Sat evening - would hate not to be able to buy anything due to lack of space in case! I always seem to get the Easyjet staff who take the whole one bag only "and that, Madam, includes your handbag" very seriously!

mrsjuan · 18/03/2011 16:31

Zembo, believe me, you are stunning and tiny and will feel the epitome of glam next to me - DD is very under the weather and my plans for beautifying today have been replaced by sofa snuggling with cbeebies interspersed with walks with the pushchair for some fresh air for both of us.

I am doing flares, platform wedges (love the leg lengthening effect), navy top + navy zara blazer or wool coat (will judge weather in the morning) tomorrow. Not sure about Sunday yet - quite possibly the same jeans + warehouse baggy but not top + the famous warehouse leopard print scarf Grin

In fact my entire MOAMU weekend seems sponsored by Warehouse Confused

Very exciting about the houses MrsCB & Dolcee

Westfield trip sounds like a great way to pass the time between hospital appointments Carciofi - good choice of hospital Wink

Fritzi Thank you for my BBH appointment - I will follow the scent of cheese to find your room.

Our room will probably have about 18 beds in now since I have received multiple emails from both expedia and the hotel assuring me that they have secured twin beds for the room. I may have been a bit over enthusiastic in my mission Blush

Zembo, I will pm you my phone number now if you want to arrange meeting up for food as I won't be able to get on the internet very easily once I've left home (unless I can convince DH to let me take the ipad)

Naughty ebay seller everything. Hope you can return

ApuskiDusky · 18/03/2011 16:35

Hello! Reporting in with my outfit choices (reserving the right to change my mind...).

Day time - new CoH flare jeans, with R&B shoeboots (the only comfy shoes with a high enough heel, I really need to take up the jeans just a smidge), with new (ahem Blush) Reiss blazer, not sure about top yet, maybe lime pure collection jumper.

Night, need to continue with aforementioned shoeboots (though a bit worried my feet might die), and probably my bargain £15 AWear dress, though I did buy the purple LK Bennett Davina today - anyone else wearing Davina?

blossoming · 18/03/2011 17:02

We're going to be well balanced between flares and skinnies!

My bedroom looks like someone's broken in such is the mess.

As apuski, disclaimer: outfit decisions subject to change without notice.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2011 17:06

Lol at cheese rooms and disclaimers. Pink belt fail! Red one being delivered later.

LTEC · 18/03/2011 17:09

Is anybody else getting a perverse urge to wear jeans & trainers? Grin
