Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
mrsjuan · 18/03/2011 08:06

Morning everyone,

Zembo I'm looking forward to seeing your Python clutch. Hope you had a good evening.

I'm also going first class both ways on the train - worth it for the first class lounge at the station - I always get there a bit early and have some free coffee and cake.

Exhausted I have only ever used a bread maker at university when my housemates and I used the packet mixes and put on a stone each Grin. There's probably lots of threads and info about them in the good house keeping topic.
I'm sorry that your DS has so many allergies - are they things that he is likely to grow out of? It must be very hard work.
Good luck with the driving lesson and the 'you know what'.

No more sick from DD last night so think it must have been the cough after all. Phew.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2011 08:56

Morning!

MrsJ that is lucky. Ds still not at school. Last day off pretty much better now, but hasn't eaten for days.

If you all do facebook photos on nights out can I opt out? Grin

I don't do fb and am not on any (anymore). Work on internet, not images of me.

Not that I'm particularly photo-worthy of course.

notyummy · 18/03/2011 09:18

Vin - would be great to see you on Sunday.

Marsha - Hope your DS gets back to normal soon.

I am officially a Bad Mother this morning. Took DD to school with wacky hair do for Red Nose Day, which I thought is what the newsletter instructed me to do. I was right about that, but apparently she was supposed to be out of uniform as well - she tried to tell me that but I pooh poohed her Blush Luckily she is pretty sanguine about it, but I heard her grassing up to the teacher :'Mrs B, my mummy doesn't seem to be able to read the newsletter properly.' Blush

Right, off for a run before jumping on the train to Nottingham to go to a big party for the closure of my previous work place. I am not drinking though -can't do 2 days on the trot anymore and want to be fresh for tomorrow!

loobylu3 · 18/03/2011 09:33

vin- what a shame about your poor nose. It must have been really painful.
What a shame you won't be making it to the MOAM and wicked P for not letting you out to enjoy yourself :(
I'm not staying at the hotel and have arranged to meet a couple of friends for lunch on Sunday. If you are able to to pop out on Saturday, it would be lovely to meet you. Otherwise, next time!

red- sorry to be ignorant but are the jbrands you mentioned flared jeans?
I was thinking of wearing them with flares but am still deliberating over the price and whether I will get enough use out of them this year and whether they will still be on trend next year!

blossoming · 18/03/2011 10:11

Morning all.
Lovely sunny day here today. I shall be cinderella cooking for the weekend, but luckily I shall go to the ball!
looby, these are red's jeans. I tried them on but they didn't work for me. I'm just that little bit too short for them at 5'7.

LadyOfTheManor · 18/03/2011 10:41

What's MOAMU? Blush

blossoming · 18/03/2011 10:59

ladyofthemanor, it's 'mother of all meet-ups', taking place this weekend in London. To celebrate over a year of this thread!

redllamayellowllama · 18/03/2011 11:04

Oh no Bloss, don't say that - I'm 5 4" Blush. I think they looked ok, if a little Rachel Stevens-y. So yes, Looby, good with flares I think! I love them and think they're pretty classic (the Yarras), so think you should go for it. They are the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a long time - even over Ash high-tops.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, we went to Pick Me Up at Somerset House and got some lovely prints, then DH headed home through rush hour with both DC's whilst I went on to see The Children's Hour with my sister. My sister has a little thing for Keira Knightley, so had booked tickets in row B in the stalls. Thoroughly enjoyed the play, Ellen Burstyn excellent, but Keira Knightley's posture is appalling!

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/03/2011 11:29

Carciofi - Just got the houlihans and oh my lord - I love them. The olive colour is so much more flattering that the stone colour I tried last year - and such a bargain - so thanks!

And now nearly half way to Gracie Grin

Bloss - I also just received this and its fab and I think would suit you.

Right off to do more yet more sorting out. Have a fab time tomorrow.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/03/2011 11:48

So cold here, still not decided which coat I should take to London. Maybe Maxmara and Belstaffs would be more appropriate than ballet flats and leather jacket. Decisions, decisions ....

blossoming · 18/03/2011 12:12

Thanks for that link mrscb. Two things though, the waist tie looks a bit low, ie at my widest part Blush. Is that the case? Also I worry the colour isn't quite dark enough! What am I like? Colour swatches at the ready tomorrow girls!
When are you completing mrscb? Are you going to move in and then do the work?

fritzi, it will be freezing when you get up tomorrow. Same here. Really hard to dress for.

blossoming · 18/03/2011 12:13

Sorry, red, meant to say, have you turned them up?

hf128219 · 18/03/2011 12:18

Just popping in to say have a wonderful MOAMU. Will be thinking of you in your fantastic outfits sipping champagne! Smile

notyummy · 18/03/2011 12:23

Weather gorgeous here today, although chilly when I was out running earlier. Suspect will be the same when in London tomorrow. On train to 'do' in Nottingham wearing Gap coated skinnies, Jigsaw cobalt blue silk top and grey slouchy heeled boots. Worn with purple coat and patterned scarf. May have to wear purple coat out tomorrow night as don't really have evening coat. Well, I have two that vaguely fit the bill, but neither would suit outfit. Just had early lunch of mackerel (delicious!) to stop me from overindulging at the buffet. The house is going to pong a bit when DH arrives home later to pick dd up!

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/03/2011 12:53

Bloss - I pull the waist bit up a bit so the top bags over if that makes sense. Like you my waist is not my best bit but this dress works well.

Completing soon and have exchanged so just getting stuff sorted and planning work/getting quotes etc.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/03/2011 13:26

Weather forecast for London tomorrow is sunny with some clouds and warmer than here today. Also not as freezing during the night as I thought it would be. Oh and no rain! That means the Belstaffs stay at home.

I might have to add about 10 more messages until I leave tomorrow about what coat/shoes to take/not to take so feel free to skip my messages.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/03/2011 13:28

Hope that all sick DCs are on the mend today!

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2011 13:29

Lol Fritzi. I love seeing your deliberations Grin you sound like me.

Well a stylist friend has a pink belt, two in fact. Am meeting at 3ish for handover. Could be good!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/03/2011 13:31

marsha I can sooo relate to your belt obsession. Hope one of the two belts will be right! Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 18/03/2011 13:34

mrsj Forgot to say: You are booked in for BBH-session chez fritzi/ollie!

KILDARE4 · 18/03/2011 13:46

Given the logistics of tomorrow - planes, trains and automobiles! What coat would be best (am wearing LBD tomorrow night!) Stone knee length mac, short cerise mac, grey winter coat or full length shearling - was hoping that coat didn't really need to match evening outfit as would be removing it, am planning on wear houlihans with sand coloured suede wedges for travelling - am thinking stone coloured mac as don't get to warm in it, but not very glam!

All a bit superfical I know, but I am in a tiz.Smile

OWW What time do you land in Gatwick?

Glad to hear that sick Dcs are on the mend, I've had DD3 at home all week on another half term break!

notyummy · 18/03/2011 13:53

The thing is Kildare, whilst you are travelling you will not want a thick cost- you overheat on the plane/tube etc and then gave another bulky item to carry. I would go for one that isn't as thick and goes the mist clothing options. We won't be outside that much in the cold night hours... And we will have an additional light cloak of alcohol to keep us warm! (Well, most will...)

notyummy · 18/03/2011 13:53

Coat, not cost. Bloody iPhone!

blossoming · 18/03/2011 13:59

I am in a tiz too. Coats, shoes..
I have, at least, done the cooking. Time to really work up a tiz now!
