MOAMU - we're nearly there! What shall we wear?

Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2011 14:22

Speaking of clowns, I've had a facial and she tinted my eyebrows. I now have 2 hairy caterpillers in place of eyebrows! Hope they tone down a bit before the MOAMU - I look most odd!

Well, DS2 trotted off the school quite happily this morning. The rest of the class seemed to know he was starting today and several came over and spoke to him using his name which was lovely. He came home at lunchtime saying he made a paper sunflower, played in the builders corner, had a snack and played in the playground (with DS1!) and wants to go back tomorrow! Phew! I felt a little bit wobbly for about a minute and then it passed (no empty nest syndrome here!!!)

Regarding MOAMU WE, I plan to hopefully dump suitcase at hotel late morning and head straight to John Lewis for some Laura Mercier foundation and a potter round the entire store! Then hope to try on these straight legged jeans in Gap here, go to Selfridges and M&S, Next for kids stuff and remember to eat something substantial for lunch! Also need a new handbag as mine is looking v tatty due to leaky pen!

DolceeBanana · 14/03/2011 14:31

No Red, no longer in Bristol.

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2011 14:32

NY - meant to say I loved that dress on you. Keep!
ABO - I really liked the Tibi - great colour for you and I think it could look lovely on. Glad you ordered.

I'm gearing myself up for a big ebay session just before Easter so I can bring the items over to post when I'm visiting. Ebay experts - how long does the average person take to pay? Would it be reasonable for my auctions to close on a Weds so I can post on the Friday or Saturday?
The expat Mums group is having a bag, jewellery and accessorises swap party on Friday night. As I've organised it, I'm taking along a suitcase full of clothes that I don't plan on ebaying (Next/M&S etc) and plan to say every item is 2 or 3 euros each. Some are brand new or hardly worn. Will hopefully add to my MOAMU cocktail fund!

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2011 14:35

Seriously???

ReineDeSaba · 14/03/2011 15:17

Just popping in to say very much looking forward to seeing a lot of you lovely ladies on Saturday..I have really lost my thread on this thread, having a hectic but lovely time at the moment but I did manage to click on your last link OWW those are the shoes I have bought for MOAM Grin

Hope Fleecy feeling well and Zembo and everything having easier times

KILDARE4 · 14/03/2011 16:01

Have just booked a blow dry in Fenwicks for SaturdayGrin, am so looking forward to London!

KILDARE4 · 14/03/2011 16:09

Make-up also booked at Laura Mercier in Fenwicks - we should take before Moamu photos and after photos!

My plan is to drop suitcase at hotel, head for Marlybone High st, down then to Bond st to Fenwicks and see then what next, will also try to have decent lunch to line tummy pre meet up - if anyone is on for lunch? Wine

blossoming · 14/03/2011 17:44

I'm in that area too Kildare, name a time and a place (via pm!)

FritziGreenEyes · 14/03/2011 19:47

ollie Sorry to hear about your eyebrows. I'm sure it is not that bad. See if DH notices Wink. Mine never has no matter how accidentally dark they got.

notyummy · 14/03/2011 20:02

Hmm.

Just spent 30 mins faffing around with potential MOAMU dresses. May have to bring 3 Blush....just can't decide!!

  1. Classic LBD - Black silk halterneck
  1. 'Directional' Grey silk asymetric one
  1. Joan Holloway meets Footballers wives va-va-voom purple snakeskin number (everytime I write that down it sounds sooooo tacky. But DH loves it...and he is generally Mr Understated when it comes to ladies fashion.)

Some of it may depend on my case of 'bacne' (sorry if TMI!) clearing up. All that exercise last week whilst away from my usual cleansers whilst staying at the hotel has clearly taken its toll.... OWW - what with dodgy eyebrows and skin , the two of us will be the pair frantically rubbing vaseline over the lenses of cameras and lightbulbs Grin

ApuskiDusky · 14/03/2011 20:13

I think I've settled on the dress I'm going to wear for the evening, but still not 100%. And its just dawned on me that I have to actually wear something in the day as well (I'll have to disappear before breakfast on Sunday, not sure I can cope with three outfits!).

Sorry I've barely been around, RL has been draining me of my shopping mojo, and even my posting mojo.

Red, glad to hear you've spotted some houses you want to look at, hope you find something. Sorry to hear you won't be at MOAMU, but I'll put my name down for a west country meet-up and hope to be able to toast your new house!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/03/2011 20:38

notyummy I am sooo curious to see number 3 Smile but I'm sure you look fantastic in the other two too!

apuski I try to banish thoughts of deciding fabulous daywear. Maybe I can convince ollie to order room service for breakfast as I already know which pair of pjs I am going to take Grin. Looking forward to meeting you! How are your DSs?

Kildare Do you need to book the blowdry at Fenwicks? I thought it was just drop in? I am thinking about the blowdry bar near the side exit behind the bags section.

blossoming · 14/03/2011 20:48

When did all bras go padded?
I was thinking this the other day when I was remembering the red number I was embarassingly wearing and matching knickers, when I pulled DH. Bras did not used to be padded.
I found this Elle McPherson number on Figleaves and it arrived today (in American Nude). I look about a stone lighter in it. What a relevation!

ollie, I'm sure they're not that bad!

notyummy, I'm dying to see that last one too.

OllieWollieWoo · 14/03/2011 20:54

Apuski - I'm thinking of sending a body double in for breakfast at the hotel! Or maybe we should all do a breton flashmob type thing?
NY - like the sound of the grey and FW dresses - and agree with soft focus lighting only!

KILDARE4 · 14/03/2011 20:54

Fritzi That's the one! Rang today and booked to be sure, to be sure! Had no problem getting appointment Smile

blossoming · 14/03/2011 21:10

ollie, forgot to say that you're usually committed to dispatch items in 3 working days. I find people pay very promptly. Paypal is a great invention!

Reiss shirt and lace t
Whistles slim 70s shirt in pink and cream
Have tried on Burberry Zembo pink trench and really like it.

Am off to check out NAP now as they have free delivery this week.

No idea what I'm wearing to MOAMU. Is anyone wearing the WVA Donna?

Fleecy · 14/03/2011 22:00

I have horrid pregnancy acne all over my nose and chin so will be cowering in a dark corner with those who are also suffering minor disasters (can you have a minor disaster?!) on Saturday. Or will pile on the slap and look like Joan Collins Grin

choo you have been busy - good work! Think mrsCB is the only other one who has the Donna and she's not coming?

Is anyone wearing Janice? I was wondering about taking Janice as a back-up to the VWA in case I'm not feeling it on the day but if anyone else is then I'll take something else instead!

ny I want to see the famous purple snakeskin now!

exhausted I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight

AntPants1 · 14/03/2011 22:06
