FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 10:57

Have you just been on the London Underground, by any chance?

We stayed at the Hilton Kensington a few weeks ago. As we waited for the lift we were joined by another couple and I knew instantly they were foreign. Him: lurid green straight leg chino-type trousers with high waist and a tan jacket. Her: bouffant hair, winter white padded jacket and matching trousers, orange face. Tasteful Hmm

Crocs for all the family.

What are ankle flappers and mum boots?

LynetteScavo · 23/02/2011 10:57

No, no, please do wear such items, as it makes me look all the more stylish!

(What are ankle flappers anyway? Confused

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 10:57

MmeLindt · 23/02/2011 10:57

Oh, I like a good gilet, Aitch. Very versatile.

AitchTwoOh · 23/02/2011 10:58

FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 10:58

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 23/02/2011 10:58

it's a BODYWARMER.

LynetteScavo · 23/02/2011 10:59

Much as I detest matching family cagoules, such families somehow manage to make me feel inferior. I think it must go back to something I witnessed as a child.

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:00

any form of 'technical' clothing

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:01

biscuits in tupperware ( i am guilty of this)

FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 11:02

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 23/02/2011 11:02

Well, I don't call it a gilet. That would be poncy.

My mum has windproof trousers that she wears when it is really cold. Even into town.

LaBellaSantaCaterinadiSiena · 23/02/2011 11:02

Or indeed your handbag worn across you - you might as well wear a sign saying "I'm a tourist"

FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 11:03

i dont wear GILLETS as i look a nob in them
like a kids drawing of a person.

I used to dress terribly when on holiday, then I had an epiphany...we take most photographs when on holiday and these are the pictures that will define you in years to come. With that in mind, I now dress better when on holiday than when I'm at home Grin

I had a short detour through town yesterday and spotted a family wearing matching beige pedal-pushers (don't know what the modern phrase for it is) and blue anoraks. It was 4 degrees and pissing it down and they all thought the best way to clothe themselves was with pedal-pushers???

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:08

looking like you are going to a wedding is also a mistake

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:08

my mum is a big fan of the fleece gilet but she is in her 70's so i forgive her
