Trip to large city?

With CHILDREN?

Think I'll pass.

CrazyHorse · 23/02/2011 11:09

I see people in cities in matching cagoules, and carrying around their own picnic, and talking in a slightly loud voice their children, and for some reason it grates on me. I've no idea why. My sister calls such folk "middle class wankers", and doesn't realise she fits exactly into this category, or would do if she had young children.

Chandon · 23/02/2011 11:09

what are mum boots?

I need to know before I admit to anything.

I do wear ankle flappers as I have 35inch inside legs, and most jeans only go to to 34 inch. All my tousers are one inch short!!!!! So am moving to skinnies and wear them inside my (mum?!) boots.

flat bums are depressing, but eventually an inevitable fact of life....????? Sad

brought my own snacks yesterday as well Blush

(hides thread)

I am a big fan of three-quarter length trousers, particularly in beige or perhaps a pastel colour, when worn with those bizarre shoes that are more than a trainer but less than a hiking boot.

bonkers20 · 23/02/2011 11:13

I tried to do the whole combat trouser look thing. Failed badly and got called Rambo as I was walking about. Oh hang on, I wasn't even a Mum then!

I wear my bag across me, otherwise it falls off my shoulder when I'm teaching the toddler who's boss
I'm trying to manage my DS.

Surely flat bums are slightly better than say size 24 bums in leggings?

FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 11:29

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:30

Bonsoir · 23/02/2011 11:30

Provincial mothers on trips to metropolises should never wear:

  • shorts
  • trainers
  • fleeces
  • cagoules

Think about your smartest look and then upgrade some Smile

Decorhate · 23/02/2011 11:30

Can we add in mums as old as me (which is practically middle aged) with long hair where the top of the hair is tied back - don't know what you call it but looks very 1970s and not in a good way...

FluffyMummy123 · 23/02/2011 11:30

DuplicitousBitch · 23/02/2011 11:31

Decorhate · 23/02/2011 11:31

DB I cannot get rid of the image of a youngish mum I saw in Kings Cross a while back. I really don't know why people wear clothes that don't fit or suit their body shape...

MmeLindt · 23/02/2011 11:32

Hmm at Mumboots.

I do have similar, but smarter ones. But what else can you wear when you are going to be wandering about for hours?
