New thread!

Not that I've been on the old one much Blush)

OP posts:

Oh Zembo - you poor thing - did smile at 'love the clothes though' Smile

Roary - I do think you're being amazingly calm about your move - I guess the big dress purchase is helping Wink

Carciofi - your DH won't make that mistake again re. your outfit when he sees the Anya purchase on his CC Wink

Annie - golly you must be exhausted - is DD2 sleeping any better?

Bonsoir · 21/02/2011 10:33

Marsha - DP wants to live in the 6th (Saint-Germain-des-Prés); having hankered after living there for years, I now find it oppressively full of tourists and no longer feel the urge. But we may still end up there!

The Ile-Saint-Louis is beautiful but totally uninhabitable unless you have über serious $$$. Not for mere mortals like me who need close proximity to supermarkets and schools.

Zembo - hope you feel a bit better soon. It's so dispiriting being weak and post-op.

Roary - glad you have made your mind up and are reconciled.

carciofi, how very dare he! Like traceyb's comment very much!
zembo, you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon. Toothache on it's own is bad enough.
Screams from dd...

blossoming · 21/02/2011 11:11

Lovely outfit everything. Nothing wrong with the skirt!

roary, silver lining being property viewing and great dress! Exciting times.

Re keeping things tidy bonsoir, my cleaner is back after 2 week absence. How I miss her when she's off!

Mumsnut · 21/02/2011 11:13

Tracey - you are right about needing to live somewhere for a while before knowing exactly what to do with it. And just a couple of years can make a huge diff as to how your dc use the space.

OllieWollieWoo · 21/02/2011 11:57

Everything - sorry to hear about your trip to IL's. Sounds like you have to take the initiative and put plans in place - the google calendar sounds a v good idea.

Tell us more about the vintage dress - you looked wonderful in the one your wore to your sisters wedding. I can never pull off the vintage thing so v envious!

Had a browse of M&S offers as pointed out by Everything. This pale grey coat has potential for Spring for someone? here
I think I like this too - looks better on video. Be good for work (ie not for me!)? here

Loved the Kings Speech last night btw. Some lovely moment of humour in it - much appreciated by the Dutch audience too!

MarshaBrady · 21/02/2011 12:10

Paging MrsJ. There are Belstaffs on outnet. Smile

AllBuggiedOut · 21/02/2011 12:45

roary it was me who went to Selfridges, and I'd definitely do it again. The woman was very good at spotting what would work on me shape-wise. My only criticism is that she was a big grumpy about the whole colours thing, although did largely stick to it and only brought me colours I said I would consider. HTH!

Right, back to party invitations. Have decided to go DIY and involve the kids...

I am due a visit from MIL. Dh not here. I am doing breathing excercises.

VerityBrulee · 21/02/2011 14:32

Good luck with that Bloss hopefully she won't stay too long!

Marsha checked your Belstaff link in the Drs waiting room, saw the ones I've been looking for, then the bloody GP called me in and by the time I'd come out they were gone! Drat, will keep an eye out for returns though. Damn GP didn't know what was wrong anyway, so would have been better off staying at home and buying boots.

Sunny showers here, but half term so will be brave and venture to park, then I really feel the need for a shop when I come home. I have an obsession with raspberry pink atm.

My mum bought me a Babylis Big Hair, she was fed up listening to be wittering on about how fab it is meant to be! Well, it is fab! I have v shiny, v swishy hair. Definately recommend.

Bonsoir I am so envious of you, a week alone in Paris, I hope you make the most of it.

notyummy · 21/02/2011 14:46

Hello all.

Hope your MIL visit goes ok Bloss- have just put the book in the post for you.

Bonsoir- enjoy your week. I am officially on leave to day and dd us in activity club for a few hours, but so much to do!! Have programmed on a bowl of soup in front of an episode of 'The Killing' though. V good!

I have to pack for weekend away. Posh do Thursday night, with dress plus tit tape and underwear bought Grin, but what to wear to dinner with SIL/BIL on Friday night, and lunch with landed gentry plus guests on Saturday?? Am thinking waxed skinnies and dressy top for the Friday night, and possibly maxi skirt, wedges and Breton top on Saturday lunch.

Hope you have a great time in Dubai Annie! Your night sounds v tiring.

I like that M and S skirt you linked to Everything! Cant believe your DH doesn't want to commit to seeing DS. I know you need to keep lines of communication open, but I would struggle to stay as graceful as you.

Exhausted- it is hard returning to work. Almost like the newborn stage all over again- and then, a bit like with what happens when you have a baby, one day you realise that a kind of routine has occurred and that you can do this!

VerityBrulee · 21/02/2011 15:07

Outfits sound good NY , great that dd is better and you are able to get back to normal.

Zembo so sorry that you are in pain, hope GP can give you something effective.

Annie have a wonderful trip, I would love to see some sunshine now, it's so restorative.

OK, don't think I can procrastinate any longer. Time for muddy park trip

loobylu3 · 21/02/2011 16:02

To be honest verity, I find your references to 'bloody GP' and 'damn GP' a bit offensive. I also found bonsoir's 'go and see a proper doctor (ENT specialist),' when advising tracey the other day rather rude or at the very least a poor choice of words.
Perhaps you could both put a bit of thought into how these things might come across to others reading the thread.

zembo- sorry to hear that you are still in pain. Some of the Asian clothes are beautiful! I think the last time I wore a sari was at a cousin's wedding when I was 15 or 16 years old. DD1 has been learning about India at school and thoroughly enjoyed dressing up recently!

everything get the skirt and make the most of your
curves!

annie- those Derek Lam clothes are lovely- just my kind of thing! Could you wear the trousers/ top with closed toe wedges and a jacket for the office?

blossoming · 21/02/2011 16:16

Well Mil came and went. She was here for a funeral and had other visits to make. We are to spend the day at hers on Saturday. Why do 4 of us have to displace ourselves when it would be less hassle for her to come here?
I then forced myself outside for an hour of playing. Dd can manage a trike and some ancient toddle trucks now. Glad to be indoors now though.

I am wishing you well with the tit tape notyummy!

Sorry you've been offended looby.

Fleecy · 21/02/2011 16:24

I chuckled at your ?revenge? carciofi Perhaps your DH will think before he speaks next time Smile Hope your heartburn clears up soon ? even if it?s your only problem, it?s still no fun at all!

plum thanks for the link ? tis cute and does indeed look worth a shot

tracey wow that seems to have happened fast ? so you could be in within a month? Do you have builders lined up?

bloss nice to see a fellow Latin scholar. Well, perhaps I?m pushing it calling myself a scholar! I did it for A-level and loved it. I also had a little Spanish and found that between the two I could read a passable amount of Italian so I?m sure with your skills you?ll find it a doddle.

Sorry you?re still not feeling like yourself zembo

Right, must go. Forgot to get the joint out for Sunday lunch yesterday so having it tonight instead. And as my mother would say, it won?t cook itself...

carciofi · 21/02/2011 16:34

He regrets it already. :) I got annoyed because I am not that keen on the leggings/long top look either and didn't feel right. Anyway, top and leggings are now listed on ebay. Didn't buy the bag but ordered an IO maternity top and bought a rug!

The GP told me to try liquid Gaviscon Advance, she said that the tablets (which I was taking) are useless.

Zembo, hope you are feeling a little better.

Bloss, glad you survived the visit. I like the Kew jacket. Which colour are you going for?

DD is looking in the mirror saying "I so pretty". No self confidence problems there!

fleecy, I only have 'O' level Latin!
Last night I learnt 'ho bisogno di molti soldi' - I need lots of money!!

carciofi · 21/02/2011 16:39

Everything, I like the skirt and top and think that a dressing gown is a very wise buy!

carciofi · 21/02/2011 16:41

Brava, Blossoming!
