New thread!

Not that I've been on the old one much Blush)

OP posts:
KILDARE4 · 14/02/2011 18:55

Looby Love the links to the tops - really nice.

I had my enagaement ring reset a few years ago - wanted a bit more bling!

Have you avid gals seen these Houlihans? What a great price Smile

OllieWollieWoo · 14/02/2011 18:56

Apuski - how gorgeous does your son look! Those glasses are great - really suit him.

blossoming · 14/02/2011 19:21

apuski, how gorgeous! And they look like they were made for him!

Love the houlihans kildare, and the C/E ones carciofi.

Off to fry some potatoes for dh. Well it is valentines day!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/02/2011 19:29

Sensitive Sorry about your FIL. Hope you are ok.

apuski DS1 looks so cute!

kildare Great Houlihan offer but only for the teeny tiny W&Aers. Carciofi's from Current Elliot look good too. Very wise to send the Gap skinny cargos back bloss if you are not 100% happy with them.

bonsoir Had my eye on a similar playsuit for DD from here.

vin It's great that your interview was such a positive experience. Well done! Wear whatever you feel most confident in. I think you can never go wrong with a suit.

notyummy Lovely presents! It doesn't really come as a surprise that MrYummy wins the first prize for best Valentine. You so deserve to be spoilt after worries about DD. Hope she enjoyed her first outing today. Another thumbs down for wedges, sorry.

looby Love the FC tops but think the maxi would only work for evening as very low-cut.

ollie Bargainous maxis! Would love one in red or navy.

fleecy Fingers crossed for speedy recovery!

darrell I'm thinking about Clarks desert wedges too for spring.

annie Glad you got your hair sorted.

Any views on Bafta dresses?

carciofi · 14/02/2011 19:45

Fritzi, that is adorable. How was your first day back home?

Ollie, not at all. As long as you would choose the same DH, that's the main thing!

redllamayellowllama · 14/02/2011 19:49

This is so not a style and beauty related issue, but thought you ladies might be able to help.

I don't want to take our P&T to Cape Town as it is so cumbersome. Want to buy two separate buggies for ease of use (necessary as DS not quite old enough to walk everywhere and we have, in the past, settled him in the buggy before heading out to eat in the evening, so would like to have the same option this time round). I'd quite like one decent buggy to bring back with us and use on the days when I only have DD and one that doesn't need to be amazing to leave there for future trips. Any thoughts?

Gosh, sorry to lower the tone from Houlihans. What a massively boring post!

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2011 19:50

I haven't looked at them Fritzi, but I love Elias&Grace. Feeling really pleased you linked to it Smile (oh and cute playsuit of course!).

Arh I am still deliberating over spending a small fortune on shoes, sometimes I think people don't really notice shoes. Do they? (during the day I mean). And that if one is going to spend £300 odd it's best to do it with a whole range of stuff one can wear, ie new dress, new colours. For maximum effect Wink

So to test the theory I have done an outnet order v potential Lanvin flats. Grin

Apuski cute glasses. Smile

Vin, Vin! Great interview. I blinking love interviews especially good ones like the one you had.

carciofi · 14/02/2011 19:53

Red, I have a Mountain Buggy Breeze which is quite light and folds easily. Or there is always Maclaren.

Marsha, very wise!

DarrellRivers · 14/02/2011 19:59

Maclaren umbrella pushchairs always worthwhile
Easy to fold one handed with a baby in the other
Push easily, even one-handed whilst holding a toddler hand in the other
Don't seem to break
And reasonably light

I love my Maclaren
Ended up being my cheapest and most favourite pushchair

Emo76 · 14/02/2011 20:05

redllamayellowllama Kiddicare do a really really cheap buggy which you could leave there - the reviews on their website suggest it does the job OK. Think it is only £15. I can only echo others and recommend Maclarens - have just got a Techno XT to replace broken M&P Sola and it's ace - zippy, light and baby seems v comfy.

Apuski, he's adorable Smile.

Emo76 · 14/02/2011 20:12

red I can't find the Kiddicare one on their website any more, however Tesco does one in that price range (probably in hideous "girl" and "boy" colours though)

FritziGreenEyes · 14/02/2011 20:26

marsha Have not placed an order yet but love filling virtual baskets for DD Smile.

redllama Second Maclaren. And as we had a Lulu Guinness model it isn't out of place on this thread Grin. When is your trip?

carciofi First day at work was not so good. My in-tray was overflowing and my boss was in a bad mood today. Probably had nothing to do with me but she still made me feel really guilty for having been away as there is so much we have to do. Had a lovely time with DD this afternoon so I don't care that much.

blossoming · 14/02/2011 20:34

I love maclaren too. In fact if I had another baby I'd just get the maclaren you can fix a carseat to. Use the carseat for 5-6 months then use the pushchair. Suits my life perfectly. We have the techno xlr.

fritzi, I hate your boss.

redllamayellowllama · 14/02/2011 20:35

Thanks ladies, shall undertake some Maclaren research,.good thinking about buying there Everything, will have a look into it. Fritzi, we leave in early April, but I do like to be prepared. Sorry you had a shocker at work today.

Bonsoir · 14/02/2011 20:45

fritzi - super cute playsuit, and I love the Elias & Grace site!

Carolina - we went to Ile de Ré twice last year, and I have already booked a holiday there for next summer - we are taking a house there for the week of 15 August! Am already wardrobe planning Blush

blossoming · 14/02/2011 20:46

Happy Birthday Carciofi!!
Just saw you on the magazine thread admitting to being 39. I thought you had a very romantic dh taking you out for brunch for V day! Any good pressies?

Fleecy · 14/02/2011 20:46

llama you might find the Silver Cross Fizz worth a look too - think vin also has one? Probably worth trying a few to see which one you find easiest. But yes, if you can buy or hire one there it might be easier. We looked at hiring when we went to Gozo but it's so bloomin' small there isn't anywhere!

How's the house coming along everything?

Love the glasses apuski. They really suit him.

Fleecy · 14/02/2011 20:48

Oh is it - Happy Birthday then carciofi. Hope you're having a wonderful day Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 14/02/2011 20:49

bloss No, no she is not that bad. Just a bit, ehem, self-centred sometimes. Plus she tends to forget that it is her business and not mine and although I am fully committed to my job that I shouldn't and can't take responsibility for everything. Rant over. Did your DH enjoy the fried potatoes?

Have posted pic of myself in new dress on profile. It will be ok for summer but not March. Would like a dress for MOAM that I can wear with opaques and shoeboots

roary · 14/02/2011 21:07

I have the Bugaboo Bee, brilliant for travelling as it folds up quickly and easily. Never got on with our Maclaren as DD was parent facing from the beginning and complained about facing out!

Isn't this lovely? DH will have to go to a fancy event should he take this job and has been ordered to buy me a fancy dress of some kind. I am still hankering after that orange Bec that Plum linked to a while back.

blossoming · 14/02/2011 21:08

Finally fritzi, a photo! How gorgeous are you? And fabulous figure!
Do you like the Isabella Oliver dresses? I think uou could look fantasic in one of the ruched/draped ones.

Thanks for asking, dh enjoyed fried potatoes, home cooked ham and eggs. Sophisticated tastes!!

roary · 14/02/2011 21:09

Fritzi is HOT.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/02/2011 21:23
Blush

Just wanted to post a photo to reassure ollie that she won't have to share a room at MOAM with a hairy trucker Grin.
