used mine last night, wow.. am impressed and what fun, lots of bounce and v. swishy. Woke up wondering what it would look like and am amazed it's held the style!
The only thing I need to work on is getting close to the roots. Is it possible to get to the crown? I have shoulder length thick hair with weird (since DC) kinks in random places was previously ironing with GHD's but never really liked the look. Loving this though ....

DukesOfTripHazard · 13/02/2011 11:56

DH bringing mine (bday prezzie) home from work tomorrow. Can't wait to do back. Just washed and blow dried with my parlux. It's wanging about all over the shop at the back.

geordieminx · 13/02/2011 12:34

I am Cheryl Cole.... Cos I'm worth it like man

maxybrown · 13/02/2011 13:10

ooh had to read this thread to see what all the fuss was about, damn it!! I am crap at doing my hair, it just ends up sitting there doing bugger all apart from being as straight as straight can be and flicking out in the wrong place and being dull and drab.........hmm, will it work? [confised]

maxybrown · 13/02/2011 13:11

Confused even

PlumSykes · 13/02/2011 14:07

I want a gadget to make ME all swishy!

Thank goodness I'm wearing the Reiss lace top today (in navy), or I might have to flounce, permanently.

traceybath · 13/02/2011 14:10

So this is day 4 for me and for me it works best to do the twirly bit and then stop rotating and hold it for a few seconds.

My hair is short/fine/choppy bob - think Kerry Katona as much as it pains me to say that.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 13/02/2011 14:40

I got one.

I remembered I had 30 quids worth of Boots vouchers in my purse. Whoopeeee.

Cant be arsed to wash my hair though.

I have longish hair that has lost all its pregancy thickness and has gone back to be fine and lank.

This thing better change my life.

southeastastra · 13/02/2011 14:41

hmm i am now seriously considering buying one- blinking mn taking all my money Grin

traceybath · 13/02/2011 14:51

We should have done one massive order and got a huge discount.

In fact can we please do that on the next thing we all end up buying.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 13/02/2011 15:00

I am still laughing at the notion of someone on MN comparing themselves to Kerry Katona Grin

traceybath · 13/02/2011 15:03

I know and I like to think I'm stylish Wink

But she is looking a lot better nowadays isn't she?

tulpe · 13/02/2011 15:04

Had decided to buy one of these yesterday before remembering that I still had a Babyliss Curling Wand which I have used the grand total of ...........oooh.......one time which left me looking like Cher circa "Turn Back Time" era reject.

Before parting with my hard-earned to invest in the latest gadget, I decided to give it one last go. With a little more thought going into it I have managed to produce the look I was after.....french chic tousled effect rather than anything too "done" :)

Now, are you sure you ladies don't already possess the secret to the hair style you are after before spending another £40?? :o

noddyholder · 13/02/2011 15:05

If it makes you look like KK get rid of it!

traceybath · 13/02/2011 15:06

I meant my hair is a similar style to KK - obviously mine was cut like that first Smile

DrNortherner · 13/02/2011 15:09

OK what is this Babyliss Big Hair thing?

I have wild BIG hair that if not straightened looks utterly ridiculous. I don't need bigger hair.

southeastastra · 13/02/2011 15:23

have sent dp out to buy one - am such a sucker Grin

MmeLindt · 13/02/2011 18:11

Yes, I agree. Next time we have a product that is deemed to be life changing, can we ask the company to do a MN discount.

UrsulaBuffay · 13/02/2011 18:17

I am considering the use of mousse Hmm

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/02/2011 18:20

So Tulpe, what was the secret to your fab look? Was it the wand thing?

I've got one (used once apart from doing my hair like Courtney Love for a fancy dress do), and it sits tangled up in the gadget cupboard with the GHDs, the rounded edge straighteners Hmm, the normal tongs, heated rollers, the Parlux, the sponge rollers, and the Big Hair.

Stuffedcat · 13/02/2011 18:20

so, do we think it's kinder on hair than GHD's then, must be. I used mine last night, still looking swishy. I want another go though, not going anywhere, other than in the kitchen for my sunday dinner that dh is preparing.

tulpe · 13/02/2011 19:25

whatswrongwithyou - yes it was the curling wand which has finally transformed my hair. The first time i used it, I just curled all my hair from root to tip. This time, I blow dried it as usual with Kerastase volumising spray, paying special attention to fringe so that was nice and smooth. I used the wand on pretty much the rest of my hair but only curled from mid-way down each section, using the lowest setting as i have very fine and dry hair. I also incorporated more hair into each section than previously done. At this point it was still looking somewhat "victorian ringlets". Left the entire thing to cool off for 5 mins (whilst I did make up) and then gently combed through my hair with my fingers, loosening the curl, et voila! French chic tousled hair (holy gail of hair styling IMO)

Still looks fab now :)

MrsSeanBean · 13/02/2011 19:27

I tried the curling wand. Miserable failure. Thus I have so far been put off getting BBH as fear it will be the same let-down. Curling wand was the best thing since sliced bread a few months ago.

KristinaM · 13/02/2011 19:29

Oh tuple, you have my hair and I really want French chicEnvy

traceybath · 13/02/2011 19:30

Curling wand good for shoulder length hair and took some effort to do the back but I liked it for nights out and definitely only from half-way down as tulpe says.
