I'm with tracey.

rusmum · 22/02/2011 09:06

39.95 in comet!

WincyEtNightie · 22/02/2011 09:46

Mine blew up Angry

I was just into my second use when I got a smell of burning. Then a phut. Then nothing! Sad

Off back to Amazon for a replacement.

RamblingRosa · 22/02/2011 11:45

I gave mine another go last night and spent a bit more time on it and I now love it too Grin. V bouncy. V shiny. V big.

I'm off for a haircut tomorrow and wondering what I should ask for that will make the most of my new big hair. Currently all a bit one length, long bob, with growing out fringe (not a good look - hate it). Thinking of asking for some more layers as I reckon the BBH will make for nice swishy defined layers.

MrsSeanBean · 22/02/2011 13:15

Has anyone/ everyone else had unsolicited positive comments then? Someone said my hair looked great and what had I done with it today? Wink

re what it must have looked like before

MrsSeanBean · 22/02/2011 13:17

I have started rotating both ways btw - it gives a nice random effect to the wave as well as big-ness and smooth finish. Also makes hair less long, thus prolonging time before I need another haircut. Grin

MrsSeanBean · 22/02/2011 13:17

, I meant Blush

WincyEtNightie · 22/02/2011 14:59

PMSL at "rotating both ways" mrsseanbean - isn't it a bit early in the day for that kind of talk Hmm

Ref the unsolicited comments - my DH did say "what's that burning smell", does that count Grin

Cybsaysbaggsie · 22/02/2011 15:01

yes Mrs SB I have had a couple of comments, and dh says my hair has never looked better

But I think he might just want to get his leg over

Daffodilly · 22/02/2011 15:55

Asked my DH if he noticed any difference in my hair. He said "it looks fuller with more body and bounce". I was SEROIUSLY impressed with both BBH and DH observational skills until he fessed up that he'd read the side of the box (left lying on bedroom floor in my haste to try purchase) in case he were asked this question.

Thankfully 2 FEMALE friends commented that I looked "well" after using it for first time. I'll take that thanks!

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 22/02/2011 17:34

I've been asked if I had been to the hairdresser.

methodsandmaterials · 22/02/2011 17:51

I kiss mine before going to bed at night.

Abr1de · 22/02/2011 17:53

Balls about not using it on shorter hair. Mine has responded really well. Even my husband noticed. Mine is not even shoulder length and layers. I'm delighted.

Dropdeadfred · 22/02/2011 17:56

I'm still unimpressed...i seem able to ge okayish results when doing i quickly with dry hair but no way does it make my hair even half as shiney as my ghds
i'm wondering if my already voluminous, long, thick, straight hair really needed the BBH...?

MrsSeanBean · 23/02/2011 21:04

Possible Health Warning!
Excessive usage of BBH may case very painful wrist / tendonitis / RSI.

Now unable to for a while as have wrist strapped up.
Blush Serves me right for being so vain!

Abr1de · 24/02/2011 21:43

Oh NO!

MmeLindt · 25/02/2011 11:28

LOL at Daffodilly's DH. That is quite sweet of him.

and rotating both ways. Ooer.

DukesOfTripHazard · 25/02/2011 14:43

To avoid the mumsy newsreader (tm traceybath) look I am BBH-ing then ghding just the very ends for a bit of edge.

Stuffedcat · 25/02/2011 15:24

I love mine still and am now getting used to using it, wondered though if anyone has managed to get waves with theirs, maybe thats not possible.

Abr1de · 25/02/2011 20:35

I kind of know what traceybath means. You don't want to look like one of those terrifyingly neat and well-turned out but old-before-their-time middle class French women when you've spent too much time with a BBH. I have to do some out-flicking with the reverse setting to mess it up a bit. Slightly messy hair is less ageing than over-neat, I find.

Honeymum · 25/02/2011 20:43

I love mine. I could never get it looking this smooth with a hairdryer. I have always eschewed the ghd's - just never fancied toasting my hair. My worry is that it will blow up - I mean, it is light and plasticky isn't it? But fingers-crossed it will last/won't be discontinued so I can replace it if it blows up!!

brimfull · 01/03/2011 10:28

yup tending to agree with tracebath about looking mumsy
have started flicking odd bits out to counteract the 'rhea form butterflies' look
may have to finish with ghds but cheerrist ,that would be 3 electrical appliances used to do my barnet ffs!!

RamblingRosa · 01/03/2011 10:32

I'm slowly falling in love with my BBH. I agree you need to mix it up and do some flicky out and some under to avoid the mumsy look. I don't do it too thoroughly. Just enough to give it a bit of body and bounce and smooth it out a bit. Not a fan of the newsreader look.
