cavemum - thats where i got mine xx

MaterMetella · 18/02/2011 17:26

Feel like buying 2 in case they ever discontinue....

So fab! Thanks for the recommendations...

cyb · 18/02/2011 19:50

rusmum-not having a go at you but someone who shall remain nameless said hers didnt spin. She wasn't pressing the spin buttons.

It has 2 heat settings, and spins faster on hottest and slower on not so hot...

rusmum · 18/02/2011 20:32

LOL THANKS XXXX will double double check xx

MrsSeanBean · 19/02/2011 17:59

I succombed and bought one of these.

It's official - I have the world's worst, most frizzy, flyaway hair, but this gadget is amazing - I get salon quality-blow-dry finish.

The best hair product I've ever used. Life changing for me!

:) :)

myonlysunshine · 19/02/2011 18:44

have been swithering for weeks and finally gave in today. Was more than half sure I was going to be disappointed with the results (fine, very wavy, below shoulder length hair that I've been destroying straightening nearly every day) but I LOVE it, my hair looks really really good! Shiny, smooth, straight with a bit of a curve in it. Well worth the aching right arm and severe cramp in my hand.

MrsSeanBean · 19/02/2011 19:19

I agree re slight cramp, for me it was mainly in my swirl-button-finger. But well worth it!

muckypupster · 19/02/2011 20:41

Is this a worthwhile purchase for those of us who already have voluminous, bouncing hair?

cyb · 19/02/2011 20:43

No, you'll be requiring the Babyliss Flat hair

Sympatico · 19/02/2011 20:53

Seriously, do you think this would be an immprovement on the hot brush I'm currently using?

muckypupster · 19/02/2011 21:05

So...it's for people with limp, crappy hair then?

cyb · 19/02/2011 21:06

No my hair is huge in its own way but its frizzy, coarse and unruly huge. (that goes flat day after washing)

With the bbh its shiney swingy and smooth huge that can be pepped up in a matter of moments

muckypupster · 19/02/2011 21:14

Ok.

So, back to my original question, and I shall rephrase it with more detail..

A quick blowdry leaves my hair shiny, swingy, voluminous and manageable.

Do I need the BBH in my life or not?

I'm sensing not..

letsgetloud · 19/02/2011 21:17

Well, at the ripe old age of 40, I now know the correct description for the hair on my head. Pubic hair!

The babyliss big hair even makes my pubes (but on head) look luscious, bouncy and swirly. My hair now looks like normal people's hair.

First time I used it on my head thought it was quite good, have now used it twice and second time I did a much better job.

My morrocan oil arrived today, so hoping once that is on the old head and the big babyliss hair thing going on, no one will recognise me from the back.

cyb · 19/02/2011 21:58

No mucky, I think perhaps you could be he ONLY woman in the western world who doesnt need one Grin

FrozenNorthPole · 19/02/2011 22:16

Have not read whole thread as really should be working but ... do you think it would work on naturally curly hair? I've been straightening it for years, but it's really not particularly stylish (see photo on profile if you want to laugh at exactly HOW mumsy and unstylish hair is).

Might it be my saviour too?

MrsSeanBean · 19/02/2011 22:48

FrozenNorthPole - Yes - my hair has natural frizz curl and it smooths it to luscious waves - I think it would work well! You get the smmothness but with bounce and wave.

I have long been using straighteners - not to straighten - but to wage war on surface fuzz - but the BBH does the job much more satisfactorily.

RamblingRosa · 21/02/2011 09:38

I got one too! Used it on Saturday. Results are good but not amazing. Having said that, I didn't do it very thoroughly or carefully (prob only spent 5 mins on it and then went out in the drizzling rain). I'm going to have another go tonight but spend a bit longer on it and will report back.

VerityBrulee · 21/02/2011 14:45

I got one. It is very good. I can't stop swishing Grin

FluffyMummy123 · 21/02/2011 15:32

on the right hand side( am right handed) i dont get the same look - and bit of hair can weave their way in and twist

why and how

OP posts:
OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 21/02/2011 15:59

That twisting happens to my RHS too, I think it is twisting where the hair catches on the end. Try drying smaller sections and angle it a bit more so that the end furthest from the handle is pointing a bit away from your head (which happens naturally on the LHS if using your right hand).

Alternatively using your left hand instead on the RHS might help.

FluffyMummy123 · 21/02/2011 16:00

lol at using left hand Wink

TrillianAstra · 21/02/2011 16:03

Has anyone told the marketing bods at Babyliss exactly why their sales have gone through the roof?

traceybath · 21/02/2011 16:12

Am so over mine.

Had hair cut at weekend and am back on the ghds.

I found bbh on a bob = mumsy newsreader.

TrillianAstra · 21/02/2011 16:15

We should start an exchange for people who are bored of their BBHs to pass them on.
