Couldn't resist!

Exhausted - I think there are plenty of thighs they wouldn't flatter. Don't take it to heart Smile

PlumSykes · 02/02/2011 14:55

Monkeys I just had a quick whizz round Topshop, and they have got their beachy things in, including a couple of kaftan-y coverups that I thought were quite you here

I also picked up the slouchy blue Warehouse harems you linked to yesterday. not tried them on, but are great colour/fabric.

macmama · 02/02/2011 14:56

Go for the Lottas Ooh! We just won?t wear them if we meet (unless of course we buy different colours)

Yes Pickled I do enjoy organising stuff like this - I should change my nickname to 'CathKidsonmeetsMarthaStewart'! My house (or style for that matter) is not particularly girly due to DH hating clutter and DSs hating pink & anything flowery so I make up for it in other ways by imposing bunting & scones onto innocent Expats!

blossoming · 02/02/2011 14:57

ollie, I never got round to making them, but if you pm me your email or address I can send you the 'recipe'/inspiration I got from a Christmas magazine.

Ladies I am the proud owner of a new Breton! From m&s!! Link later. Boy was Chester quiet! Dd is staring at her feet all confused. Bless!

notyummy · 02/02/2011 14:59

Am loving the links to the wedges and clogs and think I may indulge soon. In fact I need a new pair of shoes for the posh to I am going to in three weeks, but I don't know what dress I am wearing yet, so will have to wait until that decision is made. My problem is I love the look of killer heels and sky high wedges, but realistically I can't go any higher than 3 inches because:

a. I just can't walk in them.
b. DH sulks that I am too tall.
c. I am 5 ft 10 in bare feet - add 4 inches to that, and a fairly athletic body, and I am in serious danger of straying into the 'Ladyboys of Bangkok' territory. Not a look I am aiming for Wink

OllieWollieWoo · 02/02/2011 15:00

Re Lottas - would they suit big of foot? I like the idea of them but not sure if my size 7's would suit them? Do you plan on wearing them with skirts/shorter dresses or just with jeans/maxi's? I'd love the Boden ones but just too high for me.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 15:02

No it wouldn't Oooh. My prediction is that you will often gaze lovingly at the DVFs should you buy them, but will rarely wear them.

Final bit of holiday wardrobe to get is a breton dress. Had a fab JoJo maternity one that I wore loads last summer. Like the BR one, but needs to be cotton for practical purposes. Did like the Great Plains one pickled linked to, but not keen on the mix-match body/sleeves on me. Any other suggestions?

PlumSykes · 02/02/2011 15:02

Also bought this silk top, which looks FOUL here, but actually, is lovely!

Oh zembo that is terrible! Take care please.

notyummy IBS episode sounds really uncomfortable. So sweet of your DD to care for you.

everything Did everything go well with the move? Hope you are settled in and DS is excited by your new house.

Ah that dress I bought. I'm having doubts already as the colour is a light mint grey and very light silk fabric, knee length. Might be better suited for proper summer do than March when it can still be very cold. Hmm, will try on again tonight and decide if it would be wiser to return it.

I'm in denial about the fact that we are going skiing on Saturday and I haven't packed or sorted out a single thing Blush. So much nicer to cuddle with DD on the sofa with a cup of coffee Smile.

monkeysmama · 02/02/2011 15:22

I'm a 7 Ollie so hope they look ok Wink.

monkeysmama · 02/02/2011 15:26

Thanks for Topshop heads up Plum. I do indeed like some of those cover ups. Glad you like the Warehouse trousers. They seem to be having a moment.

redllamayellowllama · 02/02/2011 15:27

That's lovely exhausted, have to pass Whistles to go to Monkey Music tomorrow, so it would be rude not to pop in and try it on, no?

Dress sounds lovely and delicate Fritzi, but that's not to say it won't work with opaques/cable-knits. I quite like a contrast of textures.

blossoming · 02/02/2011 15:51

monkeysmama, I saw this swimming costume today and thought of you. It was lovely. And you suit navy don't you?

Oh, and this was the breton.

Honestly, stripes were everywhere. I didn't like the GP one enough to try on though. More of a tunic length I thought.

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2011 15:59

Zembo am so sad that you have been soldiering on and today had to happen but hopefully you can start to get properly well with plenty of support.

ants and daisy i'm so sad you lost your babies.

the whistles dress is gorgeous exhausted and red..but so much white would instantly be a bolognese magnet in my house!

OWW I don't think I remembered to say how amazing I think your tea party is!I would love to be invited to something like that or create something as special as that(as opposed to making a few cups of tea and opening a few bags of crisps)

glad you are on the mend yummy

fritzi I hope the ski trip is a lovely time for you and Dh to relax together(can you ski and relax!)

great sounding job bloss and some great shopping lately too..looking forward to links.

I know I'm being a dope now..it was the 19th for MOAM(sorry baby brain)

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2011 16:01

oops..and there are the links bloss

very nice indeed and great price.

FritziGreenEyes · 02/02/2011 16:15

reine As I have been very accident-prone lately, I might skip the skiing and go straight to après-ski and enjoy my books while DH is burning off energy and DD is in the kids' club in the mornings.

bloss Well done on getting the interview! Nothing can go wrong in a new pair of R&B shoes Wink.

ollie Let me know how the teacup candle making goes and I might copy. It is such a lovely idea and your guests are very lucky!

blossoming · 02/02/2011 16:19

reine, 19th of March. Can't link my shoes: R&B.

AllBuggiedOut · 02/02/2011 16:26

Love that vest plum

Boden sale wasn't too hideous, and am chuffed to have laid my hands on tracey's leopard belt - which a woman I was chatting to (as we opened all the small green spotty bags with belts in) told me I didn't have a snowball's chance of finding because it's been sold out online for ages. I was tempted to go and find her to show her my find as she didn't have my staying power and had given up loking Blush Got some bits for the boys too.

And bloss thanks for thinking of me in Jigsaw! Think the problem with the bretons for autumns is the whole contrast vs blending thing. So although eg cream and navy are autumn colours, we look best in colours that are closer in intensity. I am hoping my man in Selfridges buys into the whole colour thing as I fear it could be hard work if he doesn't...

ReineDeSaba · 02/02/2011 16:33

fritzi that sounds like heaven..reading a book is a pipe dream at the moment with a baby in the house!

ABO was it 'the shred' giving you staying power Grin

bloss I wish R and B would sell online just so I could see your lovely purchases Grin

monkeysmama · 02/02/2011 16:41

Bloss thank you for that swimming costume link. I've just ordered it. I love it! Really chuffed Grin.

Have any of you got the new asos magazine? I really like the dusty rose trousers in the Maison Scotch advert on page 8. I also really like the two camel/red dresses in the colour blocking feature on p25 but they don't seem to be on the website yet. I think the shirt dress would look good for everyday spring wear when it's warm enough to go tightless. I am quite keen on a lot of the palazzo pants too but many years ago I got one foot caught in the other leg of a wide leg trouser and fell over (at a wedding Blush) and I think it has scarred me.

Just back from the post office posting the last of my ebay things. I've made a good few hundred quid which is nice. Some of dd's Boden stuff went for more than we paid for it first hand and a few pairs of Clarks shoes I'd had laying around for half a decade went for a lot too. Funny what people want to buy isn't it.

What's going on with WIT? I am going to stop reading her if she keeps on like this!

monkeysmama · 02/02/2011 16:46

Oh also, what do you think about this dress I bought it before Christmas but took it back. I'm thinking of getting it again but wonder how to wear it.

Who has the Reiss lace top? Is it true to size? I am going to order it now but am not sure what size to go for. I'm usually a 12 but sometimes their sizing is odd.

I am strangely drawn towards this bright blue one. I think I may order the khaki long sleeved too and see what I think when they arrive.
