Marsha I emailed my friend to ask about Dengue. She said it's especially bad in Colombo, there's no medication, they didn't get it, and nor did any of their houseguests, but several colleagues did. She said it's a brilliant place for a holiday (I agree, btw, I've been there, and it was amazing. The elephant orphanage would be awesome to visit with dcs).

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 15:37

MM you are going to laugh at me for linking to Lands End but honestly these swimming costumes are brilliant for my jelly belly.

Here, which I have in the navy

and

here

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 15:39

PS Tracey am so envious of your boots. My black favourites which must be 5 or so years old have just given up the ghost and those would be a replacement.

Is it worth trying to find new boots now or should I wait until autumn?

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 15:39

?

perfect of course.

PlumSykes · 01/02/2011 15:48

Emo, I like that tee. I wish we had a Comptoir de C here. My nearest one is Tracey's local one, in Bath.

MarshaBrady · 01/02/2011 16:17

Roma thank you so much. It does seem to be a bit of a risk. The fever that is. So helpful, really great.

I put this Moschino cashmere black dress on and decided to keep wearing it. It's lovely and slouchy, quite short! Macmama I broke my no black rule too.

And am wearing with this 'chartreuse' belt. Loved it.

Until I noticed the lollipop lady, man on motorcycle and electricity man wearing similar colour!

Oh no! Safety-wear Chic! Grin

macmama · 01/02/2011 16:28

Beautiful Marsha! My mental image of your style computes that is a good look for you. Love the sleeves.

I am hoping my Joseph cardy/jacket will feel classic abnd a little luxe IRL.

It looks great. I love black trim on anything and think it could be really lovely.

macmama · 01/02/2011 16:31

Thank you. Was thinking with simple black dress and pearls it would be nice change to a suit jacket

Tres Audrey Mac Smile

Ooooh - I still think I'll be wearing boots for a few months depressingly so a good buy still. They are fab!

Am going to go shopping in Brizzle on sat and get eyebrows done and try on the lace reiss top.

Also now hankering after the nudie skinnies . . . And still thinking about the LV scarf - and its only Feb 1st.

PlumSykes · 01/02/2011 17:04

Do you go to HN for brows, TB? Fancy meeting for a 'luccios latte one day?

FritziGreenEyes · 01/02/2011 17:51

So many posts already.... Will check out links later when I'm back home. Our lovely babysitter is with DD and I just bought a dress which could be the one for MOAM! Will probay be too nervous and wear black as usual but have more things coming up this year so It was a wise buy I hope. Cannot link as on iPhone and it is a totally unknown label from Berlin.

Zembo sorry to hear about DH.

MM Pretending not to be sad when in fact you are is more damaging I think. Can relate that you don't want people to feel sorry for you though. Hope a bit of sunshine and sea with DD and DH will help you to get your strength back.

Tracey good luck eith the treasure hunt!

blossoming · 01/02/2011 18:05

How awful about the earring tracey. I will never take mine out again!

abo, lots of bretons this year are striped with cream not white, so suitable for autumns, no? They are everywhere, I thought they'd had their moment there last year!

I have just had a phone call inviting me for interview next Monday. Aaaaarg!!!!

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 18:12

Mac love the cardie/jacket. I'm very partial to a bit of Joseph for work.

So I have 2 clothing dilemmas for you ladies:

Black boots to be stylish of course but also smart enough to not look daft when I combine them with formal work stuff on the commute. Contenders:

The Tracey option which I love but now costing £££ more Envy Envy Envy

Cool but spenny and a bit high of heel for commuting, and very gappy on the calves

A bit of Jimmy

Not very special but comparatively bargainous

I must also have a look in R&B. Why oh why don't they have a website?

My second dilemma is how to do the Spring brights thing? I was looking at pictures of pink jeans today which with a grey top seemed doable. How are you ladies planning to deal with colour blocking?

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 18:22

And what is the view on cropped trousers on shortarses?

redllamayellowllama · 01/02/2011 18:22

Yay Bloss, good thing you had the foresight to get the interview outfit sorted. What does the structure of the day look like?

TheAllNewOoooh · 01/02/2011 18:29

Hi llama.

Sorry about earlier, I'm still being slept on!

redllamayellowllama · 01/02/2011 18:35

Oooh, nothing looks as good once you've seen the Belstaff's. Love 'em. Hope DS is feeling better. I'm not convinced that cropped trousers look great on me, but they're so easy come SS that I do wear them. Have got this TS pair that aren't as camel-toe inducing as the pic may suggest. very easy to wear.

Thanks Plum, sorry to have nagged. Think i''m going to bite the bullet and go for a Medium.

Can I pick brains re. Summer heels. Have decided to break with the habit of a lifetime and go for a pair of wedges/has beens. They need to be comfy (or as comfy as heels can be). It's a little early, but want to have them for our holiday. Birkenstocks no more!

redllamayellowllama · 01/02/2011 18:36

Don't be silly - absolutely fine.

blossoming · 01/02/2011 18:42

I'm waiting for an email llama, but I'll have to teach a class in the morning and interview in the afternoon.
Should I take flats for teaching and heels for interview?

I liked the Boden clogs carciofi linked to last week.

redllamayellowllama · 01/02/2011 18:49

Tricky one, unless you're planning a lesson which involves lots of keeping around, I'd go for mid-height heels and stick with them for the whole day. I always get so uncomfortable changing shoes - where to do it, how to conceal extra pair of shoes etc etc. But, this could be a shoe paranoia unique to me, so ignore if necessary!

I loved the Boden clogs, but they seemed quite high for someone not too used to heels - want to be able to wear them during the day. Do I need to just accept that learning to wear heels will be a bit uncomfortable?

redllamayellowllama · 01/02/2011 18:49

Leaping, not keeping Blush

VerityBrulee · 01/02/2011 18:56

Posting from new iPhone - yay!

Bloss fantastic news about the interview

Red did you see MMs thread about Lotta clogs, they seem identical to hasbeens at a quarter of the price

MM agree with fritzi, hopefully holiday is just what you need.

Tracey hope earing has been located by now

traceybath · 01/02/2011 19:31

Plum we should definitely have a brizzle meet-up and drag Dolcee along too Smile

Bloss - yeay for interview!

Ear-ring has been located in lovely cleaner's hoover - she's soaking it in dettol ready to then return t me Smile

DH has brought home a new htc phone and it looks good so am going to have one of those. Blooming techies and their apple hatred Wink

Am reading vintage Dr Who to DS1 at bedtime - curiously very good indeed.

Ooooh not surprisingly I like the belstaffs best. Linea of Hampstead often have offers on belstaffs.

lackaDaisy · 01/02/2011 19:41

That's me trying to un-blend away from the wallpaper. I've been lurking on this thread for a while now and blame credit several purchases to W&A recommendations. I was wondering if it was too late to join you girls?

I've kind of lost my fashion mojo due to being either pregnant or breast-feeding for the last three years. Youngest sprog is 3 months old,and I'm working on a complete overhaul of my wardrobe, especially spring/summer stuff.

I've recently purchased these shoes and this dress. Lusting after a maxi dress, but at 5'2" I'm not sure if that's a good idea.
