Ooooh good purchases Exhausted - love the lace reiss top - what are you planning on wearing with it?

traceybath · 30/01/2011 19:41

And Bonsoir sympathy on the homework - Sundays just seem to be all about preparing kit/bookbags/homework for the week ahead.

AntPants1 · 30/01/2011 19:47

That looks like a good haul exhausted I am also temped by Reiss top.

So ladies first day back at work tomorrow after a year's mat leave. Am nervous as hell but will try to be scarred in a stylish way! Not sure what I am wearing. Have a few choices.

Off to shred...3 more shreds then I have done my 30 days. Then what? I am keen to keep going. May give myself a couple of days off and then start again. Have really seen results but I was very very flabby and lardy to start off with so still a way to go I think.

X

Exhausted - I loved my new look chinos and am looking forward to wearing them to death again this summer.

Well provided I get back into them Smile

I have the ugg clogs too! But didn't get on with them as well as my hasbeens - I loved them.

Ant - good luck tomorrow! Am sure you'll be fine and after 10 mins you'll forget you've been away at all.

Bonsoir · 30/01/2011 20:02

Thanks tracey Smile. Have just finished ironing DD's smock and clothes for tomorrow, signing exercise books and must now listen to her recite her charming poem about the months and seasons yet again.

And this is just the beginning!

Ant, well done on the shredding and good luck for tomorrow.

exhausted, can't see your Selfridges top but the BR dress and Reiss lace top are fab. Hope work is going OK for you .

Vin, good luck with your decision re: flat. Yes, I suppose as you are renting, the outside doesn't matter so much. I do like a bit of kerb appeal though. Everytime I walk up our path and look at the outside of our house (which is not huge, just a lot bigger than where I grew up) I think 'wow' I live there Smile.

Looby, I love that Monsoon top.

traceybath · 30/01/2011 20:06

DS1 enters the prep bit of school next academic year and they can stay later to do their homework at school - am sorely tempted I must say.

[waits for post to self-combust for saying the prep word]

pickledsiblings · 30/01/2011 20:13

You needed to say "...can stay later to do their Prep.." in order for it to self-combust Grin.

Reine-Happy birthday!

^Roma- your poor DS! I hope he is ok.

I have had a lovely birthday weekend, but now DH gas just disappeared for another 2 weeks - boo! Had some great S and B related pressure, including a Babyliss Big Hair, a magazine subscription, a massage voucher and a weekend away to a gorgeous hotel in the Cotswolds with a brand new spa just opening. MIL also bought me a stripy top and a gilet that j was initially a bit 'meh' about (spoilt bitch, moi?!) because I am nit really a gilet person. (Unfair bias as I associate them with a whole set of 'horsey' jolly hockey sticks Armed Forces wives that I don't want to be part of....) However I have tried them on and they do actually look quite good. Also got a great pile if books, and Inception on blue ray. A great haul!

notyummy · 30/01/2011 20:19

Oh yes, good luck Ants!

blossoming · 30/01/2011 20:24

What a great shop exhausted. Makes going back to work easier I'd imagine!
ants, after I did 30 days of shred I carried on just doing level 3 for another few weeks before my holiday. (Basically I hate level 2 with a passion!) but after the holiday I came home and alternated 2 and 3. Tbh it took a good few months to see definition. I think I did 7 months of it! I'm now on 6 week 6 pack, or 7 week in my case as I missed most of last week with a bad back. I have returned, gingerly tonight. Then I'm going to mix them up, and keep going.

tracey - is the prep bit Year 3? If so, I would have thought a slightly longer day where your DS comes home with no homework sounds like an excellent plan. There is nothing like that at DD's school until the last two years of primary Sad.

pickledsiblings · 30/01/2011 20:33

exhausted, that's a great top, both colour and style

notyummy · 30/01/2011 20:40

Nice top Exhausted- very va va voom!

traceybath · 30/01/2011 20:54

Yes Bonsoir - Yr3 is the first year of prep and the thought of no nagging about homework during the week is very appealing.

I would much rather he does as much as possible at school so time at home is for reading about stuff he's interested in.

Romanholiday · 30/01/2011 21:17

Hello everyone, thanks for helpful comments from looby and exhausted especially (don't worry, I wasn't expecting a distance diagnosis!) - I sort of assumed that they wouldn't be able to say much more than I could in A&E without other obvious symptoms, so decided to keep an eye on him. I had checked that he could follow something with his eyes and walk in a straight line. I'm not sure whether that's neurology..... He has seemed fine and even managed to make it out with me for pizza and a beer just now (yes, well, it's Belgium, not Paris ). So I think OK, just with a very, very impressive grey egg on his forehead. Luckily he has a fringe!

Tracey mine stay at school for 'étude' but they don't always actually do their homework, and ds2 usually needs to do it all over anyway. So it means fitting in supper and homework after 5.30pm. For me it's the only way though, as the schoolbus follows those hours. But if they supervise it properly then it would be a very good thing, of course.

Not very S&B, sorry! (I look lovely though, honest Wink )

blossoming · 30/01/2011 21:18

You know what looks really good with my new black skinnies? My lkb platforms. But for rugby???

PlumSykes · 30/01/2011 21:19

Evening all, back from a full day of in-laws for MIL's birthday party. Am too strung out to post properly, but wanted to link to this navy lace dress, would could be a good buy for someone?

Also, bonsoir/tracey, agree that staying an extra hour to get prep done, which would probably take much longer at home, is ideal. I was a boarder from age 7, so at school anyway, but we had a structured hour from 4.30-5.30, before supper, when we had to sit together and work. At that age it meant that once I'd had supper, the evening was free. Obviously as I got older, more prep meant working again after eating-but from age 11, we also had timetabled prep-lessons during the week when we could go to library to work. ( I sometimes call it prep to DD out of habit, she looks at me like I'm a mad old school marm)
