How lax as am I as a mother though that I would actually consider the relative business of a&e before going Blush

Running in to say that Inwear now has a lightweight jumper in the style of the stripy top some of you brought - I like the ink version here (Nottons knit if link doesnt work). I'm guessing it means no stripes on the back. Pricey compared to the tshirt version tho.

Did someone say breton? Smile I keep meaning to look out for this outfit in H&M stripy top and grey shorts

loobylu3 · 30/01/2011 15:34

vin- most Drs are quite paranoid about the rising levels of litigation!
Even complaints without any reasonable basis at all can take over one's life! By the way, I'm fortunately not speaking from personal experience!

I may get the Monsoon top. Most people on this thread seem to have a draw full of Bretons and only have one so I obviously need more- need, you understand! :)

OllieWollieWoo · 30/01/2011 15:36

Zara also has several Breton style tops at the moment
here

ReineDeSaba · 30/01/2011 15:36

Hi ladies..just popping in to enjoy some A and W chat while under the birthday booze influence.thank you very much indeed for your kind birthday wishes..so touched Smile

Roma Good that DS3 didn't lose consciousness and isn't displaying any worrying symptoms.I have also heard that knocks to the side of the head more problematic as thinner bone but think worth getting things checked out for your own peace of mind.

VB and red thank you for the breton tip..have ordered

the dengue fever thing sounds scarey but have to say I once read the lonely planet guide to Britain and frankly that made London sound terrifying.Have been to Rio in the midst of bomb threats and actually felt pretty safe whereas one of the mums from nursery refuses to use the tube in London for fear of terrorism so danger/risk can be very subjective.

*roary glad Ds is getting better.

hells hope you will soon be enjoying a glass of something nice post DS's party

Thanks for the Breton links lovely ladies. Can't see your coat verity, will try on the pc later. I do like the Monsoon one looby. Dd is walking well now so I may have to do some RL shopping soon and swing past monsoon. Also Lkb have some on their website. Worth a look.

KILDARE4 · 30/01/2011 16:57

Hello Ladies, just have accidently deleted post!

To paraphase (probabley better!)

MM So sorry to read about your loss.

Birthday Girls Many happy returns.

Thanks to those who gave advice re DD2 and her lack of motivation when it comes to studying, she has stopped day boarding and I am supervising her a bit more closely with our new mantra - More study=Better grades= More choices! So thanks for that.

Love all the fashion links but feel if only I could wear what I have........

blossoming · 30/01/2011 17:13

Style dilemma for this week: DH and I celebrating 10 years together by going to Cardiff for Wales v England and staying the night. How to look sexy, good for 40, in walkable footwear and also keeping warm sitting in stadium for 1.5 hours. Then a bar, and maybe see old friends. Impossible task maybe?

Bonsoir · 30/01/2011 17:57

Blossoming - a fur coat and knee-high fur lined boots over a slinky dress?

Have spent afternoon helping DP's cousin's DD with her Camberwell application (and then queueing at the 24/7 PO to ensure it arrives at destination for tomorrow's deadline) and now feel like going somewhere glam for a glass of champagne. But DD has her nightie on and will doubtless want to stay put. And she hasn't finished her homework. I feel like I've been doing homework all day

FritziGreenEyes · 30/01/2011 18:06

vin is obviously renting an apartment not a department... got a bit carried away Grin

blossoming Layering might be the only answer? Thermal vest and tights under new black skinnies and nice going out top + cashmere cardi. Shoes are difficult as you will have freezing feet in thin soled shoes. I sometimes put on cashmere socks for going out to keep feet warm. At the bar take off coat, cardi, beret, scarf et voilà you'll look fabulous.

fleecy Great trousers and top!

roma Hope DS3 is ok. Just make sure you do whatever you feel you need to, so you can stop worrying.

ollie Did your DH like the Pure jacket or is it going back?

Kildare Just keep repeating your mantra with DD and ... breathe....

Love all the stripes!

blossoming · 30/01/2011 18:07

Sounds perfect bonsoir. I wonder if there are photos of Emmanuelle doing sporting events?

Maybe have a glass of champagne at home post homework?

FritziGreenEyes · 30/01/2011 18:07

x-post with bonsoir. I think I prefer the French take on bloss's outfit for anniversary Grin!

FritziGreenEyes · 30/01/2011 18:10

bonsoir Sounds like you need that glass of champagne now!

blossoming · 30/01/2011 18:11

Thank you fritzi, although I may have to forfeit the beret due to risk of hat hair.

Also I notice today that Etoile Isabel Marant has a plaid shirt. My favourite from the multitude of catalogues in my house would be this Crew one in blue.

FritziGreenEyes · 30/01/2011 18:16

I want the pink one!!!

AntPants1 · 30/01/2011 18:47

ollie thanks so much for link to H&M Breton. Have just ordered!

redllamayellowllama · 30/01/2011 19:35

Hope you've had a lovely day Reine, glad to have been of service with the Breton - do report back.

Plum, Hells, Tracey please report back if you succumb to the Reiss top. I love it, but would like to hear about it before going for it.

Roma, hope DS went to sleep ok and you're not too worried.

Like the Monsoon top very much Looby, it has a touch of the Janice about it, I feel.

Had an afternoon tea thing with our NCT lot and am seriously caked up. I have no willpower with food when it comes to being in social situations. A week of low-carbing has just been completely negated.
