Couldn't resist!

OP posts:
blossoming · 27/01/2011 21:33

carciofi, I really really like them and am tempted. And I don't like clogs!
verity, a class sounds perfect. If you don't fancy fritzi's top that is!

VerityBrulee · 27/01/2011 21:34

Carciofi I like them, I was a bit non-plussed by clogs until I found a pair of Hasbeens in the sales and I've really taken to them. They'd be good with your new jeans and something from your scarf collection. So sorry you didn't make it to NZ, maybe next year you can take your 2 dds to the beach in Jan and we'll all be Envy

Vin Lucia sounds like such a little character, just like her mum Smile

I found this on the Vogue blog, of all places. It's v cute!

redllamayellowllama · 27/01/2011 21:35

Carciofi I really like them and have been toying with getting them in the tan colour. Hhhm.

Huge congratulations reallygrumpy, hope you're feeling ok.

Fritzi, sexy track-wear. What's not to love?!

Esher, skirt is gorgeous and I agree, will be one you'll roll out a lot, but I'm sure I've seen lots of similar ones on the high street if you don't want to pay top-dollar for it. Will see if I can find for you.

Am looking to buy another breton-esque top but not an actual breton as I have too many classic-type ones. I like this a lot. I like nearly everything in Warehouse atm though.

eshermummy · 27/01/2011 21:36

Carciofi I personally find slingbacks uncomfortable but I like the style of them and think they look good. I quite like Boden shoes as they tend not to be ridiculously high.

I think I must have missed an announcement - Congratulations RG!

Bloss - my nails are currently a disgrace - have even been biting them again Shock. Disaster!

VerityBrulee · 27/01/2011 21:41

Zumba sounds way too energetic for me Fritzi. That sounds pretty stressful for your dh, I would hate to work in an office environment, couldn't live with the politics or the pressure. Hopefully he'll relax over the weekend. Janice sounds good for going out. How are you finding your job now? It sounded like you were worn out before Christmas.

Bloss we will have to track down a gray janice for you, it looks gorgeous.

Everything how's the house move working out? Hope you've settled in.

petitdonkey · 27/01/2011 21:43

Looby - it won't show up your real name - the last step (after payment) is to add a message and the name that you want shown.

petitdonkey · 27/01/2011 21:51

Verity - That happyland set is brilliant!! Have just ordered two, one for DD and one for her friend. Thanks.

VerityBrulee · 27/01/2011 21:57

That's great Petit, what a lovely souvenir! DD is a bit past that stage at 6, but I think I might get one anyway!

petitdonkey · 27/01/2011 22:00

DD will be two in March and so will her friend, it's perfect. At 6 your DD will still love it, even if she just arranges on her dresser in a slightly ironic manner Wink

VerityBrulee · 27/01/2011 22:13

Yes, think I might get one for dd and I to share!

Better go to bed, Friday is my nightmare day when I spend hours ferrying dc to and from playdates, urgh. DS1's latest thing is cinema trip with friends, followed by cafe and shopping! They do it once a month when there is a half day from school. I did not do anything nearly as grown up as that when I was 12 Envy In fairness though he saves up his pocket money to fund it and last time bought me a CD. He is very sweet, even if he is becoming a little teenagery.

Night all Smile

Night verity, your ds1 sounds lovely.

mrsjuan · 27/01/2011 22:21

I love that happy land set!

Congratulations RG hope you are keeping well.

Esher - I love that skirt - sorry you can't make MOAMU - you'll be there in spirit

Turns out DD's feet haven't really grown since October so have saved a few pounds for another month.
They had quite a few Blochs in tkmaxx but only a pale pink in my size - do I want them? They were a great fit and super comfy...

Fritzi - what a top Grin

carciofi · 27/01/2011 22:35

OK, I think I will order the clogs in Feb.

Verity, I am definitely going to visit them next year, I feel cheated! Although they will be living in Melbourne from Feb.

MrsJuan, yes, get the Blochs!

PlumSykes · 28/01/2011 08:31

Mrs J, I have some cheapo pale pink ballerinas from Tophop that I wear endlessly, so I say 'yes!'

Romanholiday · 28/01/2011 08:35

Hooray, managed to make a donation! So knackered today, I can hardly keep my eyes open....

Huge congratulations to Reallygrumpy !

Bonsoir you could get a uniformed maid......

Romanholiday · 28/01/2011 08:37

Oh and thanks for kind words about ds1, I talked to his teacher yesterday and she was receptive. I told her who the problem children were, but said I was more intereseted in general messages abut bullying etc. Will see how it goes.

Bonsoir · 28/01/2011 08:43

LOL Roma, some of the apartments that I drop DD at for playdates have several uniformed maids. Including the sort that rush up to DD and unzip her coat and take her shoes off Shock. No wonder some of the DCs at school have issues with autonomie.

No, not for me!

MarshaBrady · 28/01/2011 09:34

Verity the MK chartreuse belt. It seems I ordered the last one but will let you know if I send it back! (it is still quite exxy for a belt, and is umm patent but it should be nice soft patent rather than too harsh). Hope to make a few dresses look quite different.

I still love the sound of Paris, so beautiful and civilised. I remember something about cream fabric gloves (and uniform) with Parisian family. I have put a request in to visit when the parents come to Europe this year.

MarshaBrady · 28/01/2011 09:35

or white gloves... very different to our acres of field, rambling up-bringing...

Emo76 · 28/01/2011 09:35

Hello I am neither wise nor entirely avid however I do lurk on your fab thread and, noticing the chat regarding Blochs, though that these may be of interest. Also but not sure about the colour!

Bonsoir · 28/01/2011 09:52

Oh Marsha, it isn't really civilised to have a house (or apartment) full of scared uniformed illegal Filipina maids scuttling around flecking specks of dust off ornaments and preventing DCs from learning to do anything that could in any way, shape or form be construed as manual or menial for themselves...

reallygrumpy · 28/01/2011 09:57

Thanks v much for all the congratulations!

Quick ques - what's the sizing on blochs like? Not sure if I need to size up

MarshaBrady · 28/01/2011 09:58

My mind boggles at it slightly as we have the same dgm but the differences are huge. I did love my childhood, it was excellent. But so different.

I can see it would grate. I hate sharing my space with anyone, well except with my children and dh, and even the idea of a personal trainer is too intimate! If I were to do yoga or something I would go to someone's beautiful house with others in a private setting so I could saunter in and out with superficial chat only.

MarshaBrady · 28/01/2011 10:05

RG just checked. My Blochs are 41 and I can be a 40. They are a bit loose, but fit.

So ah it's a tricky one, I'd say half size up. Not sure if I would order 40 or 41. What size are you usually?
