I love the drunken little toddle they do when they first walk! DD was 18 months so I am impressed at Master Brady walking at 13 mths.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2011 20:52

I know so sweet. And he keeps laughing and clapping when he does it which is really nice.

notyummy · 14/01/2011 20:55

RG - 3 wards with 4 ladies in each sharing one bath, one shower and 2 toilets when I had DD.

Fleecy · 14/01/2011 20:58

Am feeling fab thanks carciofi and relieved that we all seem to be well again!

fritzi no en-suites at our local hospital and it's only about five or six years old.

roary · 14/01/2011 21:10

Oooh, I do love that dress.

Mumsnut it is indeed Ma. Really odd - apparently because the only women in the school used to be the housemothers.

To whom are we supposed to be PMing our real names for meetups?

Carciofi meant to say yesterday love those sandals. I am tempted.

notyummy · 14/01/2011 21:18

Names to me please Roary!

AntPants1 · 14/01/2011 21:51

carciofi I had my two at QCs. First on the labour ward - 4 beds in the room. Shared bath. Second time went to the birth centre and had own room. Unfortunately the birth centre will only take low risk pregnancies which is why i had my first in on the labour ward - pre eclampsia. At the birth centre you get to stay in the room you gave birth in, including your partner. On the labour ward my DH was kicked out pretty much once I had given birth. Anyway I found the birth centre much nicer all round. But no drugs....

Sorry I do not know your back story. You probably know all this and I am teaching grandma to suck eggs. Sorry if that is the case.

Good luck with whatever you do.

pickledsiblings · 14/01/2011 22:32

Fleecy, glad that you are all well. You should be able to view the fruits of DH's labour now Smile

Those of you asking about book groups, I started my own by asking a few of the mums at school. Then each of us invited another friend to join. We've been going for a few years now and we are a lovely tight knit group that do picnics in the summer with DC etc. We don't do any highbrow stuff but we normally get a nice discussion going and learn a bit more about ourselves/each other in the process IYKWIM.

Marsha I love that. you totally dote on your bambino.

LTEC you are so self disciplined, except when it comes to clothes Grin

Hope you all enjoy your weekends ladies.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 22:33

At our hospital you can book "family rooms" so DH could stay too after DD was born. She spent the first night sleeping on his chest and I felt really reassured to have him there with us.

Sorry if talk of healthcare has made everyone fall asleep or run to other threads. Not a topic for a Friday night really!

AllBuggiedOut · 14/01/2011 22:48

Is anybody else watching Graham Norton? Mary Portas is wearing the most amazing tights!

Fleecy · 14/01/2011 22:52

pickled I like! Thanks for adding me Smile

hellsbelles · 14/01/2011 22:58

Fritzi - I can't even begin to tell you what the hospital was like where I had DS. Cockroaches! And loos overflowing with (well - you can imagine). Really really disgusting. I couldn't wait to leave.

I have already watched two episodes of Downton....oh my goodness...how wonderful. I hope I won't be tempted to do an 'all nighter'!!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 23:13

Love this silk leopard shirt

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 23:16

[[http://www.lkbennett.com/clothing/dresses/30614AQUAMARINE Alternative to the green leopard from Whistles (?) someone linked to yesterday.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 23:17

oops

macmama · 14/01/2011 23:17

Marsha yay for your clever little man!He sounds so lovely! 13 months is the perfect age to start walking - a bit more common sense than my DD2 trust me I would not recommend a walking 9 month old.

She is almost 12 months old now isn't it just the sweetest stage ever, she is all chubby and sweet and has the most beautifully shaped head ever and a neck made for nuzzling (new photos linked on FB very fuzzy tho)

Just had very frustrating time trying (and failing to video chat with DD1 and DH (in middle east). We didn't manage it - cue an upset DD1 who has only just gone to bed. I tried to make tonight special, pancakes for supper etc but TBH the night hasn't gone as planned!

I even changed into my new black <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www4.images.coolspotters.com/photos/389071/sparkle-and-fade-paperbag-short-profile.jpg&imgrefurl=coolspotters.com/clothing/sparkle-and-fade-paperbag-short&usg=__bxQQd5YyKWri0i5UlPDSwu2iw8U=&h=450&w=300&sz=24&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=-kEXRiES8nM_ZM:&tbnh=132&tbnw=87&ei=EtkwTdeCB4iAhQfhkZybCw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsparkle%2Band%2Bfade%2Bpaper%2Bbag%2Bshorts%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D548%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=121&vpy=36&dur=539&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=106&ty=125&oei=EtkwTdeCB4iAhQfhkZybCw&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=30&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">sparkle and fade shorts for good luck (I love them!) together with people tree grey //s t-shirt but still no luck!!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 23:19

bloss Perfect for you and now reduced

macmama · 14/01/2011 23:22

bonsoir you are a a vixen - your DH is a lucky man!

Llama what a babe! You look hot girl

AllBuggiedOut · 14/01/2011 23:27

Guessing I am on my own here, but I want some!

Like the shorts mac, but sorry your evening didn't go to plan.

Your talk of your new little walker has made me smile marsha. Thanks Smile

macmama · 14/01/2011 23:32

I like the tights too ABO

But maybe not as much as my new black shorts Grin

feeling better now. Kids in bed, kitchen a tip but have the rest of my UO order to try on.

Oh no, I can hear DD2 beckoning - she is a monkey!!

macmama · 15/01/2011 00:15

hmm

I got these very bargainous at £20 but a long shot (Kimchi & Blue smart cropped trousers in blue in case link to UO doesn't work). They are really nice, lovely silky fabric, very comfortable but I really think they need somebody taller to be worn as they are intended to be worn. On me they are slouchy and long which doesn't look too bad but is not how they really should be either. Before I return them wondered if anybody else (preferably taller than me - I am 5ft 3 or 160cm depending how you think) wanted them - I have to pay for the return postage in any event.

macmama · 15/01/2011 00:17

Im off to bed. Had nothing but pancakes (with honey and bacon!) to eat.., have to say the evening wasn't all bad as they were my best pancakes to date.

macmama · 15/01/2011 00:23

oh yes and blue silky peg trousers are a size small which I would say is a size 8-10 possibly even a 10 depending on how loose you like them.

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2011 06:52

Hells that sounds very tough re hospital! Yech.

Fritzi isn't that colour amazing!

Macmama was it a technical thing with the video? Hope you get to do it this weekend. And I love those shorts! Might search for them later.

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2011 07:29

I thought I might combine your feedback while everyone still asleep, but as soon as I moved ds sensed it! And woke. Probably quite good, as if anyone has more fk pm it to me and I will add. Smile

Oh and Liberty people in the week are great. Saw some mad fashion. Orange but good big hair but with designer clothes, very tall girls in boots and berets that sort of thing. Plus carry a bambino in your arms and people love it, it's a lovely positive thing. More enjoyable than buying the clothes (shock Wink)
