ha ha Oooh

anyway steady on missus - I am the one with the killer (literally!) heels Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 14/01/2011 10:31

Fritzi - laptop has crashed 3 times whilst trying to write this. Fan kicks in and the whole thing shuts down after 3 mins! Will lean on DH re getting new one - hope he doesnt want to do lots of research first tho!

We have bedtime hassles with DS1. Better after he started school tho. We let him listen to stories on his CD player. Still v frustrating when he appears in the lounge at 9pm to see what we are up to! By 8pm I've had enough of mothering if that makes sense and isn't too harsh!

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 10:34

ABO A853 will get you 10% off at Boden and you would get another 5.5% cashback if you buy through Quidco.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 10:46

I'm a bit in love with these wedges. Do you think these will cut it as a wiser option?

macmama · 14/01/2011 11:11

marsha don?t mind being left on the list ? its nice to know what you are doing even if I don?t get to go anywhere without the littlies except work! (think I must be almost the only one on this thread not going!)

But yes I would LOVE a summer meetup with kids. We could have the most stylish picnic ever seen in a London park...

PMSL at the first article and agree with roman?s social curating comment!

And have pity for poor Gwyneth having to try on designer clothes all afternoon.

macmama · 14/01/2011 11:43

Don?t ask me about bedtimes Blush. DDs go to bed shamefully late (ideally 7.45pm for DD2 and 8.15pm for DD1, more realistically, 8.20pm for DD2 and 9pm for DD1) as a result of the fact that, unlike Stella et al, when I get back from work, dinner is not made and DDs are not washed and dressed for bed! That?s all mummy?s job and I don?t know about you but I don?t know how to do dinner in twenty minutes I find good food takes longer than that and prefer to cook one meal for everyone rather than two (unless we do once a week fish fingers/special kids meal).

I think my ideal working day would finish earlier so that I could get back earlier and start the whole routine at 4.30 or 5pm rather than 6.15pm (which is what time it is after cuddles, breastfeed, general chat about day etc)

KILDARE4 · 14/01/2011 11:47

Am at home waiting to talk to a man about my boiler!
Have checked spreadsheet rejigged schedule and have decided what to wear on day trip to London tomorrow! My new NF coat, this dress - much nicer on than it looks!, Rick Owens wedge ankle boots, opaques and a smile!
Back to spreadsheet to check on when I can do the hoovering! How does it allow for multi-tasking! Think I'll just stick to normal method of to-do list and everything else in my head!Smile

KILDARE4 · 14/01/2011 11:51

LTEC Love that bag, wish my dh for ask my friends for advice re pressies!

carciofi · 14/01/2011 11:53

ABO, I will look for a Boden 15% off code after I collect DD.

Bloss, your outfit sounds lovely.

Nice dress, Kildare. Enjoy your day in London.

AntsPants, shame about the scarf. I really like the new Crumpet range, I think I may ebay my cashmere Lily & Lionel scarf and buy another.

DD told me this morning she didn't want to go to school but then was first in the door and shouted see you later over her shoulder. I hope it lasts!

LTEC, I would like you for a SIL myself!

Ooh, I prefer the DVFs but I guess the Boden are more practical. I was looking at those too.

GOOP makes for painful reading.

What do you think of these Belstaffs? I also got a council tax refund, which will pay for one boot.

pickledsiblings · 14/01/2011 12:02

ABO, this nice navy sequin skirt is an absolute steal. I have tried it on and it is lovely. The only thing is that with it being a wrap the underneath layer may potentially drape down a bit IYKWIM. Worth a look though - no?

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 12:07

carciofi those boots are completely beautiful.

macmama · 14/01/2011 12:30

Do Phase 8 do free returns?

macmama · 14/01/2011 12:38

And, the subject of Phase 8, how is the sizing? Got my eye on a black suit in the sale but not sure about whether to go for size 8 or size 10 ? size 10 probably too big but will size 8 be too small.

Did anyone ever end up getting the gold foil dress?

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 12:41

I think so Mac.

I'm currently queuing for the Liberty Friends & Family sale... Hope it's worth it!

notyummy · 14/01/2011 12:45

Puckled - got v excited when I saw that skirt at that price, but nothing in most sizes left (possibly unsurprisingly at that price.) May get them to email me if a 10 or 12 comes back in.

notyummy · 14/01/2011 12:46

Pickled Blush

Although being puckled sounds quite fun!

pickledsiblings · 14/01/2011 12:49

NY, Puckled made me laugh. They definitely had small sizes in Coast at the Brunswick Centre last Friday. They come up big.

notyummy · 14/01/2011 12:55

What so we think of this ladies?

And could I wear it work...or would I look like I was off to a registry office wedding? Hmm

traceybath · 14/01/2011 12:57

Oh that goop article was hilarious! Although think Stella sounded the most normal.

Grotty weather here again but wearing new j crew jacket and belstaffs soo all well Grin

Right - will catch-up now.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 12:59

Queue not moving. It's raining. I'm hungry. Moan moan moan!

macmama · 14/01/2011 13:00

I like it NY I see women wearing dresses like that to work with black jackets and courts. I am considering this with matching skirt and trousers. Very cheap in the sale they are in my basket but have not bought yet ? not sure how jacket will sit in RL but I do like the short cut

macmama · 14/01/2011 13:06

Stella did sound most normal in terms of comments about wishing she was with the nanny, falling behind on work etc (even if her kids were dressed for bed by somebody else). I was a bit confused by length of her working day. Nanny finishes at 6.30 but she comes home earlier sensible with that many kids I guess my mum should have taken note. No mention of cooking I imagine she has a chef/FT housekeeper or something (perfectly sensible!).

macmama · 14/01/2011 13:07

Belstaffs lovely carciofi if not a little exxy! but hey with one boot paid for already... looking more reasonable Grin

traceybath · 14/01/2011 13:10

oh I do see you in this LTEC

Mac - yes to the staff - I'm sure she has a very demanding job and 4 children but must be so much less stressful when you've got the full domestic back-up.

Have you upped your cleaner's hours whilst your DH is away?

OWW - how was the warehouse dress?

macmama · 14/01/2011 13:17

Yep Tracey would be amazing to be able to get home and just enjoy the kids while everything else was magically taken care of around you! But then again its real life and still time together even when you are doing the chores, Dd2 actually loves watching me prepare the supper (and later eating it!) and has done since she was super weeny (when she was permanently in the sling while I did everything). I am sure she is doing to follow in her Daddy and grandmother?s footsteps and show an interest in cooking very early in life.

No haven?t upped cleaners hours. She was off for about 3 weeks over Xmas, well I tried my best but it wasn?t really good enough! The house looked so much better yesterday after she had been. Mind you she does 5 hours on the day she comes so I am quite spoilt she usually hangs some washing out as well as cleaning and tidying every room in the house. I love her!
