Looby can you add me too?

roary · 12/01/2011 10:55

Roma and Bonsoir enjoying eavesdropping on your glamourous Euro education dilemmas - similar problem in Canada where the joke is that kids who go to French immersion school in English canada end up unable to spell in either official language.

Bonsoir · 12/01/2011 11:02

tracey - sadly, no, I didn't have time to plunder peruse the Marni sale preview. Life is stupidly busy with unstylish preoccupations - like school! And LOL roary at finding the Euro education glamorous - that is a sure sign that the grass is always greener, because from where I sit it is anything but glam, just frustrating Wink.

Romanholiday · 12/01/2011 11:03

I'm thinking seriously about boarding school - Winchester etc, particularly for ds1, who is very mature, independent and sociable. Have any of you got experience? We will keep moving around, and I would like mine to be able to go to a great school, it's such an asset.

CHOOGIRL · 12/01/2011 11:05

Morning everyone. Long and rambling post as I do the two windows together thing

Hope today is better for everyone. Welcome de-lurkers. Any others out there who have been following for a while? Come on - join us.

Hells AF finally arrived 3 weeks late. That doesn't count as a month does it . Am also now on the mid-week wagon and will be following the principles of Carol V over the next few weeks. Am determined to drop a stone by meet-up.

I must also confess to being worried about MOAM outfits (evening and breakfast eek. Yummy have PMed you a couple. No5 Cavendish and Kingly Club

Roary another Kindle convert here. I also have ordered a cover with a light. Currently reading classics which are free

We have joined the big TV club chez Choo. Only 42" but we are now close to having a TV in every room.

Loving the beds. Laura Ashley and Marks & Sparks here. Am currently contemplating new fitted wardrobes no idea what they cost any ideas?

Could you add me too looby

DT lol at reordering the Edelmans. Is it a 41 you are after?

Cake Well done on the Sandersons. Hope you get a chance to wear them soon. And Yes to owl..not too Sheffield Wednesday though Smile

Am still sticking to my budget. 3 days until LV scarf and counting.

MMe I got flu vaccine in Boots, but not sure they will give to under 16. I'm not particularly high risk, but on a day rate so had to calculate £12.99 for jab vs potentially two weeks off work.

Zembo welcome back and glad you are enjoying your coat.

Cake I am an owl not a lark so would definitely be least productive at 4.am. Going to bed at that hour fine, getting up no way Smile

Any ANTM fans here? It's back...

traceybath · 12/01/2011 11:09

Looby - what a gorgeous family!

I too love house magazines and have ahem started making notes/cutting out all stuff I like. So although house is not ours yet - I have already showed DH wood burner and fireplace I want - he just looked at me like I was a crazy lady and to be fair he was trying to have a bath at the time Grin

CHOOGIRL · 12/01/2011 11:12

Roma A friend has a boy at Winchester. Joined in September and loves it. How old is Ds1? I think they start at 13.

roary · 12/01/2011 11:13

Bonsoir only glamorous because infinitely more exciting than the playground chat here about catchment areas! I understand though, see my comment about french immersion. Must be very difficult.

Choo you reminded me I promised MrsJ to expand on my Kindle love. THat lighted cover is pricey but worth every last penny, it's brilliant, especially if you have a baby in the room, or a sleeping DH, or on airplane...
I confess I have been a bit unwise and purchased quite a lot, have to turn the wireless off because one of my great stresses is being Without a Book to Read. Too easy just to buy one in bed! I love it to read on, it's so easy, and I always have a pile of books on it so it was essential on holiday and if I have to go to an appointment I have it to read. IT's tiny, and you don't notice you are reading on an electronic device. What's not to love?

roary · 12/01/2011 11:14

ALso: I detest taking the children swimming. The wet, sloppy dirty changing room; the horrible feeling of getting undressed and wet and then going out in the cold. Fortunately Aussie DH is half man half fish and this is his job.

LetThemEatCake · 12/01/2011 11:17

argh!! all this talk of cleaners has jinxed me. Have just come home with sleepy baby to put him down and crack on with an hour of work before nursery pick up and cleaner is (by her own admission) pro-plussed off her 'nana and stomping around like a baby elephant, radio blasting, muttering to herself!!!

If she wakes him up I will be very cross!!!!

LetThemEatCake · 12/01/2011 11:17

I love taking my dc swimming - is it cos I is Aussie??

loobylu3 · 12/01/2011 11:23

dolcee- I am mildly obsessed with int. design magazines and tracey- my DH just doesn't 'get' aesthetics so he thinks I'm crazy too!
Just as an example, my parents visited last weekend and brought our Xmas presents as we hadn't seen them over the festive season. My DM brought a couple of egg cups and a milk jug from a Dutch company here and I said that they were too pretty to use and that I would display them. Cue DH saying 'What's the point of x if you don't use it?' He has no idea :)

bloss- natural hair colour is medium- dark brown and eye colour is medium brown. It's really hard to say re silver/ gold as I don't have either in my wardrobe. I would probably say that white doesn't suit me, cream is perhaps better. I'm actually wearing a cream coloured, lace tunic today and I think it's okay :)
I have to admit that the Summer personality sounds more like me than the Winter.

I have been v neglectful to my lovely DD and must pop out now so will add everyone else later!

FritziGreenEyes · 12/01/2011 11:35

looby Gorgeous family and you look great! Thanks for sharing. I think you might be a summer but bloss is the expert really. Have added you too but only some pics of DD to see.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 12/01/2011 11:40

cake I could never do 4am, noooooooo! It will ruin your social life (and unlike me you actually have one!) and mess with your body. You'll be hungry and tired at weird times of the day, no?

Wandered past a woman wearing a yellow (almost chartreuse) coat today, with a full skirt and a hood. It sounds vile but she look great and a breath of fresh air next to all the grey City dwellers. It made me think about how similar in tone most clothes are and how, especially for work, we risk being satorislly institutionalised.

I could never be that bold but maybe a red coat for Spring?

AF finally here too. The test was right.

Romanholiday · 12/01/2011 11:41

Ooh, school bus stop appears to have wifi. Ds1 is 8 3/4 choo. I'm going to plan a couple of school visit trips to uk. Nothing dh loves better than visiting country piles in uk!

LetThemEatCake · 12/01/2011 11:42

Marsha I would prob change the laces but might these be better for you if edelmans too black?

Romanholiday · 12/01/2011 11:44

I really agree about colours ooh. So dull looking at a sea of grey. I love watching news from S Asian countries for the array of beautifully coloured saris etc

Could easily get for you and send if you fancy it - or anyone else?

No probs everything - glad the voice is returning and v wise to saty home and continue to rest.

Bloss - would love to see a pic. How short is it? Would it make my hips look even wider than they already are?

KILDARE4 · 12/01/2011 12:12

Looby I too love House and Garden, the English Home and 25 Beautiful Homes etc, also have a big stash and hate throwing them out just in case I want to use a recipe (which I never do!) or check something!Confused

blossoming · 12/01/2011 12:12

Good luck with the weight loss choo. We're behind you! Do I take it you're staying over too?

ltec, I think 4am is rather early too, and I'm a lark. Nothing I love better than hearing Jillian shouting at me at 5.45. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often as DH thinks I'm already verging on obsessive, so only during holidays if people are coming round.

looby, then maybe you're a spring?

madammecholet · 12/01/2011 12:13

waves back at notyummy

LTEC I am much more productive in the morning, try it..

blossoming · 12/01/2011 12:14

ollie, it is short, I'll post a pic in a minute. Didn't realise you had hip issues?
