New thread

OP posts:
DTI10 · 11/01/2011 22:45

me too looby please.

hope you stay on thread sophable - I lurked for a very long time before taking the plunge!

thanks for support re DS2. I have been watching him sleeping whilst willing the bruising and gash to go fade away soon.

LTEC and notyummy - what say you both on jeans? Depending on style I vary from 28 to 29 and 30.

I have also re-ordered the Edelmans in the larger size - why??

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 22:47

KILDARE4, I added you earlier when you popped on, so you should be able to see them.

Hi sophable, I bet the dress and the coat look great together.

AllBuggiedOut · 11/01/2011 22:50

Well done looby - may I see them please?

And also well done oww. Yes, it does get easier. mostly Wink

The dvf dress is the kind of thing I would love to wear sophable but it's the wrong colour and shape for me. One of my favourite things about this thread is knowing that my favourite clothes get to be worn on the right people! I would also like somebody (preferably somebody tiny enough for it to be a dress on them) to waft in this in the summer please Grin

Hope your evening has improved cake

Have ordered the J Brand olive skinnies. The person on the phone advised me to go for a 28 so fingers crossed...

and if anyone's interested, my lovely gold Blochs are further reduced.

notyummy · 11/01/2011 22:50

DT - would have thought it is worth a go - they seem to get a rave review from LTEC. You sound a similar size/height to me btw. Depends on the make of jeans. I can go down to a 27, but I also have 30s in the drawer (although admitted those are looser than they used to be.) If I wasn't spending so much money on a series of weekend away then I would buy them! I am actually relatively small of foot for my height though, so I am not yours and LTECs foot twin Grin Around a 6 1/2 to 7, which is quite petite for a 5 ft 10 girl I think.

hf128219 · 11/01/2011 22:51

Looby What a beautiful and happy family you have!

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 22:54

looby they are so gorgeous (you and dh quite easy on the eye too!)

DT because they re fabulous and comfy - unlike the studded numbers, ouch, I slept with one cashmere sock on my hurting foot last night (couldn't find the other, argh Baby L is it time you had your own room??)

re jeans tbvh I think you are too tall and slender for those jeans - they might be tooooo cropped on you? But if you fancy a go I would go 29. 30 my very large arse.

DTI10 · 11/01/2011 23:00

ABO pls re-link to the waft as it is bringing up the Blochs.

thanks ny. I like the styling on them but thinking they might be too ankle grazing for me. I will have to purchase to confirm though. So Envy of your size of foot!

KILDARE4 · 11/01/2011 23:02

Pickled Great shelves, they look lovely and rustic with the bed, wish my dh could conjure up something like that - his solution to all DIY is outsourcing!

Looby what beautiful children you have Smile, great photos.

Sophable Grey dress/top looks really versatile (spelling? it's late!), coat also looks both good and functional!

DTI10 · 11/01/2011 23:07

x-post cake. I can't do very cropped with my skinny ankles and J-Lo derriere (defo 30).

sorry about the studded ones being so uncomfortable. I love them but alas not for me. It was Liz Hurley who made a reference once on "Make me a Supermodel" about a dress so tight it cut into her in the name of fashion?

Did I miss the W&A consensus on the birthday treat (think a lot of us need a little something) or has that been forgotten about?

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 23:08

then again you are about the same height as the model, no?

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 23:08

so could work

Fleecy · 11/01/2011 23:08

roary I hate housework and drudgery, so shop online and now have a cleaner Grin

cake love those jeans but sold out in my size. hope all is resolved soon and you enjoy better health

Sorry everything - iron bed here but I do also have storage boxes. 32? tv but DH would have had more given the choice. I don?t get it though ? think they compete too much with fireplace as the focal point.

Picked and looby can you add me please so I can be nosy?

bunny do ask for physio referral ? I have got one now due to some problems that have recently appeared over 2 yrs post DS. It?s not a nice story but the upshot is, I wish I?d had a thorough check-up after his birth, rather than a quick 'you okay?' chat.

ApuskiDusky · 11/01/2011 23:08

Looby, I'd love to see your pics, but I can only use my iPhone at the moment and I can't see profiles with it. I'm hoping the laptop will have dried out and be working again tomorrow.

Right, I have taken my first step towards coming 'out' on here, having just friended notyummy on FB and LinkedIn, so feel free to try to find me - initials DH.

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 23:08

DT and ABO- you are both my friends :)

Must really go to be as DD2 has been unwell (not seriously but high temp, snuffly, off food) for the last 3 days and I think she may have swine flu (has been some at her nursery). Was up half the last 2 nights with her poor little thing :(

ApuskiDusky · 11/01/2011 23:11

When the hell did 'friended' become a verb?

DTI10 · 11/01/2011 23:12

?Model's height is 177cm / 5'10" and wears a size 27 (26) - cake.

DT's height is 5'10" and wears a size 30 or squashes into a 28/29.

Wink Wink

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 23:12

oooh Apuski you posted at 11.11 on the 11.01.11

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 23:14

apuski and fleecy- I have added you too. I haven't got into FB, I'm afraid but can I be your friend on MN? :)

DTI10 · 11/01/2011 23:15

thank you loobylu3 - will look now.

Am sure my DS1 had swine flu before Christmas. It was not properly diagnosed but he did end up in A&E. This took place on the at my first meet up in December. Hope your DD recovers quickly.

AllBuggiedOut · 11/01/2011 23:22

Oops, summery waft here

looby what a beautiful family Smile

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 23:22

Oh cake, I've got a thing about the time 11:11 - long story, old b/f, trip to Banff, gave DH the brush off (before I married him obviously). All decided on the stroke of 11:11, cue crazy packing and mad rush to airport.

Fleecy, come admire my apple crates

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 11/01/2011 23:44

A busy day for me today but I've been tuning in while on various forms of public transport and have been amazed at the variously horrid days which have unfolded for you all Shock!

It really does seem as thought the fates have conspired against you - but there's only so much bad luck you can have and it sounds as though you've rattled through a month's supply. Hopefully the pendulum will swing the other way tomorrow and you'll all be posting much happier stories Smile. I'd like the sun to shine a bit more too. Tired of the rain and my Uggs.

ABO I must fess that your lovely gold Blochs somehow found their way into my NAP basket last night with the Belstaffs. Irresistible at that price.

I really must join you all with the budgeting as my Internet shopping is getting out of hand. Plus I was spoiled at Christmas and it is my birthday coming up, and DH tells me that he has gone a little crazy . (To the extent that one online retailer called him to make sure the order wasn't fraudulent! Please let it be NAP, please let it be NAP...). But I think I'm getting just plain greedy and gobbling up too much without really appreciating it. So I want to be all about taste and restraint from now on. Well, from February on...

ApuskiDusky · 11/01/2011 23:45

Lol LTEC, and what a profound post it was!

Looby, I shall add you to my mumsnet mates as soon as I can get onto the bloody thing.

ABO, I'm not really a wafting kinda girl ( and likewise autumn!)

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 11/01/2011 23:51

PS Esher our (very much ex) cleaner used to say that she liked to pretend that she lived in our house. We thought she was joking: nope! Turned out she would arrive just after we had left for work, watch some DVDs, have a drink of whisky Hmm, call her boyfriend and shoot the breeze, followed by afternoon siesta and do a quick tidy up before we came home.

She would also try on my clothes (ick) but also tried on a wedding dress I was looking after for a friend and popped a button Sad.

LetThemEatCake · 12/01/2011 00:02

work finished, food eaten, dh sulking Grin

re collective W&A pressie do we think owl motif appropriate?

am going a bit mad on m-w site, it's so slow! Looking for shoes for DT. There are a pair of KGS on there not a million miles from The Maternity Choos but for £50!!

don't worry, I'm not going to buy them!! I have my new GREEN snakeskin Sandersons Wink
