Hi all
THanks for further sympathies. Felt much much better after I picked DD up, I suspect that actually part of the problem is that I would prefer in some ways to have her home as well (at least partly, don't get me wrong, it's much easier with one!) because I find 2 year olds more interesting than babies to be home with. I hope that doesn't sound too odd, I love my babies, but really like to make conversation even if it is about the exciting lives of playmobil people. I also, ahem, ate dinner and my blood sugar went back up. Blush

I get a fair bit of help on the domestic front which makes me even more ashamed, as lots of people cope with none - but then none from DH. Roma DH has improved his shopping immensely but used to return home with random useless items. Highlight was being sent out to buy chicken for roasting and returning home with matzoh crackers and an Old El Paso fajita kit. He does have other skills (he does the complicated finances) but he is totally not practical or domestic.

I love Esher's bed and the Little Pickles bedlinen.

Off to read my kindle, my adored Xmas present - all you resisters, you might be interested to know that I was the Chief Ebook Hater until I got it just before Australia and am utterly converted. Wish I had it for breastfeeding.

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 22:05

My cleaner is a very sweet lady. I just thought it was a funny thing to admit to having done.

In my defence the rest of our bedroom is very restrained and quite spartan and we have ultra modern hulsta fitted wardrobes in cherrywood - it's not a wag-tastic french chateau themed boudoir or anything!!

Don't worry, it's only c**v if your telly is actually bigger than your sofa Wink

mrsjuan · 11/01/2011 22:08

Phew

Roary - In my vast experience of one child, toddlers are definitely more interesting than babies.
What makes you love the kindle so much? I think I could be persuaded.

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 22:08

You are on marsha.

Our bed is a simple, metal Victorian style one, a bit like some of the Laura Ashley ones but not from there.
I think, if we had a really grand house, I would probably buy an antique bed (more than one, obviously) but nothing to frilly!

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2011 22:11

Really lovely pictures and family Looby!!

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 22:13

Looby your kids are adorable - how old are they?
You look very youthful and pretty Envy
Are you coming to MOAMU's?

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 22:16

Pickled that shop looks lovely - don't know if I will get down LCStreet tomorrow though as am going to try and see if I can get dd1 back to school in time for after lunch - she misses a lot of school due to appointments so feel I have to try and get her back if I can.

notyummy · 11/01/2011 22:16

We have 2 wooden superking beds both with tres exp mattresses. Basically because we gave often had to maintain 2 residences throughout our relationship due to military issues, and DH has a degenerative back disease that causes a lot of pain if the bed isn't right. At least we know that the guests are comfy too. (Unless we have a house full and then it is on to various fold out and blow up options!)

Love those jeans Ltec and they might even fit as they say size up....and the 29 is in stock..... And I am around a 28 in TS (although not COH when 28 too big Hmm. No! I will be strong.

DT-, Sorry to hear about your DS.

notyummy · 11/01/2011 22:17

Looby please add me to photos!

FritziGreenEyes · 11/01/2011 22:19

Ollie, well done!

blossoming · 11/01/2011 22:23

Me too looby!

OllieWollieWoo · 11/01/2011 22:25

Recovering slowly! My, Gillian is strict isn't she?
Beds - Ours is a bit like yours everything. I had a beautiful one that had to become our spare bed when DH and I moved intogether - it had a foot/bed end (is that the right word?) and was just a bit too small for a DH and his long Dutch legs!
Bloss I say buy the dress - sort of thing I would like if I had a job, (Mum who picked up DS1s playdate today had the most wonderful pair of pointy bronze shoes one - I felt a pang of envy at her work attire!)
Looby - can I peek at your pics too please?

Look at this ASOs dress here- clicked on the close up pic cos I quite liked and if you zoom in there is a huge loose thread right in the middle of the seam. Doesnt give you much confidence in the quality of the dress if thats the one they use for the pic! (Plus model is having trouble walking in shoes and needs a bra and the dress is poly - but apart from all that...)

hf128219 · 11/01/2011 22:28

And So To Bed brass bedstead here. Our first bed was a lovely sleigh bed which is now in the guest room - very attached to it!

DT Hope ds is on the mend now.

Looby Would love to see your pics please!

KILDARE4 · 11/01/2011 22:28

Heathcliffscathy · 11/01/2011 22:28

hello ladies.

may i just state that I LURK on these threads. A LOT.

And now I'm here I'll tell you that I bought this coat I had a credit from a dress I'd returned so it didn't ouch so much.

I've also bought this dvf dress which is so forgiving of my 5 months post natal belly.

I resolved a couple of months ago to quit my cheap clothes addiction. Which is why this thread is so wonderful.

x

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 22:30

NY bloss and ollie- you have all been added!

esher- they are 8, 5 (6 in April) and 22 months and thanks!
Do you mean am I coming to the meet up? I hope to, yes.

roary · 11/01/2011 22:32

Forgot to say bunny, surgery?? WTF? And cakey waiting for tests is horrid. Will explain kindle love in the morning.

VerityBrulee · 11/01/2011 22:32

Fritzi great to hear that you'll be having some time off, you deserve it.

Fabulous bed esher I HATE taking the dc swimming, although it is easier now they are older. I remember actually crying in the changing room once, dc were 7,5 and 1, it was chaotic.

Bloss yay for DD. I like the dress, very professional! Hope the jacket and pashmina arrive by Friday and the weather complies.

OWW you just reassured me that shredding is not for me. Phew.

Everything great news about your voice.

Pickled love the shelves

DT hope ds is Ok now

DD had a beautiful summer dress, the fabric was like an old chintz curtain, she adored it, but ripped a huge chunk out if it while climbing over something in the park. She was distraught so I have been searching for the same one on ebay for months. Just nabbed it at the last minute. Can't quite believe what I paid for it, but she will be thrilled, so worth every penny I guess.

Hope those with the January blues have a better day tomorrow Smile

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 22:33
