New thread

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 20:39

am blitzing it with help of tea and spleen. Have left mess to be dealt with by dh later and have not bothered with dinner. I will starve rather than cook!

most of the good sizes have gone but somebody relevant - please buy these as they are so totally fab and reduced (and can vouch for the brand's awesomeness)

reine I can be at W'field by prob about 10.30 next Tues, would that at last give you an hour for coffee before pickup?

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 20:40

clever pickled Smile - fantastic

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 20:55

DH is chuffed that you lot like his shelves.

DTI10 · 11/01/2011 21:06

Another bad day here!

DS2 was running, tripped and fell flat on forehead. Bad gash and grit in his head, skin around eyes all scratched too. DH took him to A and E for 1.5 hour wait to be cleaned up and checked over. Feel awful for him and riddled with guilt for not being there to give Mummy comfort.

Sorry for everyone else having awful days.

Might purchase jeans from cake link but sizing says go up. What do you suggest on size? Dune studded arrived today, too small. Not even tried on, can just tell.

Will read thread to catch up and thank you to the Linkedin acceptances.

Tomorrow will be better.

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 21:07

Sorry that some of you have had rubbish days.

carciofi as apuski said, I would definitely complain to the PO in writing if necessary. I can't see how this can be anything other than theft. Sorry this has happened to you.
On a brighter note, that scarf is lovely!

LTEC- hope you manage to get lots of work done and definitely leave the tidying up to your DH Grin
Were you looking for a housekeeper last year to help with the chores?
Not sure what your GP said but hope you are feeling better soon too.

bunny- surgery sounds a little drastic when your twins are what 6 weeks or so? Was it the same GP who suggested it?!
Do you really have a huge gap between the muscles? Do you have abdo/ back pain? Oh, has your SPD settled- remember you had some pain in pregnancy.
Could be worth trying physio and pilates first!

tracey- not to keen on the gilet either but it may fabulous on you :)

Nice dress boss- v professional!

bonsoir-you do make me laugh! However, I think you are right about the dress sense of most men. Those who dress well either seem to be dressed by their wives/ partner or be naturally artistic (interior designers/ architects, etc) or be gay!

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 21:09

Oh, by the way, I have added some photos to my profile (finally figured out how to shrink them)! If anyone would like to have a look, please let me know and I can add you to my 'mumsnet mates'

PlumSykes · 11/01/2011 21:10

Bloss, I have 20% code for figleaves if you want it?

My bed iron bed co too!

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 21:24

well done looby, if you add me to yours I'll add you to mine Grin

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 21:26

You are on the list, pickled!
Super shelving!

Romanholiday · 11/01/2011 21:31

Thanks for nice compliments - outfit was parfait for bumping into xboyf by chance. Phew! Sorry for crappy days. Apuski ds2 did explosive diarrhoea all over the floor, loo side, and his arm at the weekend. Lovely!

Roary housework is shit and thankless and who wants to be the maid anyway? I dealt with the shopping thing by designating the supermarket a dh chore. Maybe you could try? I recommend a list with a lot of detail though Wink

Well sorry about crap days. Mine was ok until some eurostar break down and having to change trains at Lille so still not home. Yawn.

Bonsoir are you hitting the sales tomorrow?

Madamecholet, hello, and think the key is to buy enough that 18 quid doesn't sound like much. Not too hard to manage on NAP!

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 21:36

Bunny have you had any post-natal physio? When I had dd2 at the Royal Free my pelvis was sodded (I was on crutches for last 3 weeks of PG) and I attended physio with a v specialist team based there. I cannot believe that your mat hosp (you were Queen Charlotte's no?) does not ahve similar. Was this your 6 weeks post-partum check-up? Ask your HV or midwife to refer you to the maternity physio - quickly though as think you need be referred within the first 3 months postpartum or something.
I don't know that much about di-wotsit but i cannot imagine any surgeon would be keen to operate before you have established what can/cannot be done with physio.

LTEC hope you ok too. I am also v impatient when it comes to health matters and strangely incapable of following instructions/completing courses of medications. I bought 2 huge boxes of spa-tone at beginning of December and so far have not consumed a single sachet, then wonder why I feel like someone has hot me over the head with a hammer in the mornings Hmm

Swimming this afternoon was hideous. Dd2 pushed me to the absolute limit by screaming hysterically for 30 mins and refusing point blank to put so much as a toe in the water. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has started a thread in AIBU about me Blush

So I came home and bought the gilet. Before I cooked them tea. (Well I did turned the oven then click onto My Wardrobe).

Tracey I'll be the Orinoco to your Tobermory Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 11/01/2011 21:38

I. (gasp) Have. (wheeze) Shredded (full faint).
Legs still shaking.
Longest 20 mins of my life.
Please tell me it gets easier?
Going for a lie down - I may be some time.

Evening all,
Sorry to hear about all the bad days:
Cake - I hope you feel better soon and that the various things you have to try aren't too much of a pain.
Those jeans look good but would probably be full length on me. I'll leave them for someone else.
Bunny - that sounds rather drastic - surely you're only just recovered from the last lot of surgery Shock
DT - ouch - poor DS2 - I'm sure it was a good bit of bonding time between him & DH though - don't feel guilty
Roary - sympathies on the housework. I am not a naturally tidy person and although I don't mind cleaning once I get into it I don't do it often enough. I hate having a messy house though and it really gets me down. I have a rant once a month (curiously at the same time each month Wink and turn into my mother, throwing things into boxes and swearing Blush. Those wipey things are great to keep around the house for a quick clean of surfaces etc.
Pickled(roomie Grin) the shelves and bed look great.
looby I can't see you
OWW Thanks for looking Smile Can you believe I couldn't sleep last night wondering if I needed a small or a medium. If you do manage to find it you can make the call for me!
Bloss Hooray for walking DD! And hooray that it is possible to have an 'easy' baby after demanding ones.

Final KG order arrived - the mitford boots. They are too narrow at the toe end ( for my fat feet) and too gapey around the rest so will be joining their friends in the returns pile. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.

HH is waiting for me at the post office Grin DO I go before work and try it on in the toilets or restrain myself until after work??

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 21:40

looby, what a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing Smile. How old are your DC?

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 21:40

add me please Looby - is your fault I bought the DKNY coat today btw as saw it when I was looking at coats for you last night. Have you bought the Farhi yet?

Pickled - nice shelves Smile well done to your dh

Sorry to hear about your ds DT
Shame about the dune boots although LTEC does make them sound a tad uncomfortable so maybe a lucky escape!

Oh DT poor DS, hope he's ok now. Although I can totally relate to the guilt thing, please try to give yourself a break. I'm sure DS felt really cared for by his daddy.

Another thumbs up for mrpickled's shelves.

tracey Job is going a better but I really have to be careful not to make everything my responsibility. I will also have one morning off from next week on as I have worked so many extra hours already and that's a relief.

bloss I'm not sure about the dress as it seems so demure but you can't wear outrageous things when you are teaching, can you? Maybe bonsoir can pass on ideas from her DD's glamorous teacher? Hope you like the Pure jacket. And yay for little-bloss's first steps. DD was almost 18 months when she took her first real independent steps.

eshermummy · 11/01/2011 21:46

We have a wooden bed this one in a superking. Is massive and great and I love it (have had it about 8 years now). The other day my cleaner told me that she had taken photographs of it as she loves it so much and it is her dream bed out of all the beds in all the houses she cleans for Hmm

glad to hear your voice is returning Everything

safe journey home Roma!

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2011 21:49

wooden sled bed here

pickledsiblings · 11/01/2011 21:49

loobylu3 · 11/01/2011 21:53

esher- I have added you too. I'm quite pleased to have been a bad influence Wink and I hope you enjoy your new coat. I haven't bought the Farhi as I thought I would be v wise and wait for vin's to arrive first!
Actually, this thread has made me spend more on clothes in the last 4 months than I had in the last 3 years! It has helped me to feel a little less guilty about spending on myself too which is a good thing, I think :)

everything great news re your voice!

pickled they are 8, 5 (6 in April) and little one is 22 months.

mrsJ- will add you now!

mrsjuan · 11/01/2011 21:53

Everything - glad your voice is coming back

We have a divan Blush. Will I be thrown off the thread along with Tracey and her common tv (we have one of those too)? It is a superking though and so so comfortable. Your cleaner sounds certifiable esher - it is a beautiful bed though Grin

mrsjuan · 11/01/2011 21:55

All you people with beautiful beds - where do you keep your bed linen etc? I couldn't cope without the drawer space!
