redllama, we love the Lamb and spinach, and the beef madras. The prawn was delish. (There's a strange spice mix in it though, and if you look in the back it tells you what it means. It was just a mixture of different seeds like fennel, cumin, fenugreek and mustard, so I just put some of those in instead. And I admit to not doing the tomato, garlic, ginger faff all the time, I use tomato puree, water and ginger powder, esp as I eat at lunch and don't want garlic!)

fleecy, I will not be buying the vwa. Well not this month anyway! notyummy, I tried on a vwa about 2 years ago and it didn't look too good. Sent it back anyway! ollie, I am quite covered for a meet up dress thankyou (no need for any enablers around me!) I will either be in the Bec, or in the IO ruched black jersey dress with my ridiculously high shoeboots. (If the dress arrives and looks good that is). So what are we wearing for breakfast Wink?

blossoming · 10/01/2011 12:59

Aargh, I'm getting so distracted. I meant to say plum, glad it was nothing worse than that. Hope he gets better soon.
traceyb, just for arguments sake, I would go for the scarf. This month.

blossoming · 10/01/2011 13:01

everything, isn't it taupe?
I hope you like the house on your next visit. Clean break, you can always move again in 6 months? And as you said, a blank canvas.

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 13:07

love the dress bloss!

Gosh - I have no idea where the meet up is now so it'll all be a surprise (!)

I'm not even thinking about my outfit yet...I know if I do I'll be disappointed as the weather (whatever it may be) will render whatever I have decided is 'perfect' not wearable...that usually happens to me.

Plum - very glad it's good news but how wicked of the receptionist. Surely they must have an inkling that the way they deliver results is very very important.

OllieWollieWoo · 10/01/2011 13:09

Crapola - hadn't even thought about breakfast outfit! God the pressure! Wink

notyummy · 10/01/2011 13:11

Hells - Hotel is in Marylebone/Mayfair sort of area. Party venue broadly around there would be good - we are looking for ideas! Not sure I know where you mean Everything - although I dont exactly have my fingers on London's nightlife pulse!!

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 13:15

NY can you pm me the venue? Will try and think of something.

mrsjuan · 10/01/2011 13:20

OWW - yes, breakfast outfit, Saturday day outfit, pyjamas, luggage! I'm sure I can think of a few more things to worry about if I try Wink

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 13:26

Ooh MrsJ well done, great dress! No shoes yet, no dispatch email, could be a while... I'm not sure if I am more nervous about the meet up or the post meet up write up Wink but I shall dedicate mine to stunning you and you can fabricate do one for me Grin.

Hells, yes think of a venue. You will know somewhere good. What are we thinking, not too noisy, not too bright (have I said this enough times? Grin), swish for purple sequins and chic dresses.

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 13:27

I'm actually pretty shite about venues. Rarely go out to big dos now. But I will ask my cooler friends Grin

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 13:29

Me too. The same two names keep coming into my head and one has shite reviews and the other is members only. So that's helpful! Will ask cooler friends too.

mrsjuan · 10/01/2011 13:32

I will write yours now marsha and send it to you for approval. Ok? Grin

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 13:34

Hahahhaha brilliant Grin. You really made me laugh.

(My first internship let me write my reference. God it was good!)

OllieWollieWoo · 10/01/2011 13:43

My post meet up write up:
OWW, she was nice, shame about the shoes!

I'd be happy with that!

LetThemEatCake · 10/01/2011 13:49

phew, well C did very well - no wobbles at all. He has been going there since sept so all familiar and lovely but first day without big sis. (they will go together all day Tues and wed morn, then she will have all day Thurs alone) Must say that the loveliness of the staff made me wobble slightly about our move - my main objections. other than "do Nap deliver there?" and "where will I wear my outfits??" were about finding a nice nursery. Which we seem to have found, but there's nowhere as nice as this one. Which is why I tackle the half hour drive through school run traffic 4 mornings a week. New one is less than 10mins walk from new house. We'll see.

plum very relieved for you that ds is okay, what a wally receptionist to be so cloak and dagger. (had similar once when pg with dd, was beside myself)

am very jealous of all these bargain room rates but have had to go the full rate to allow me to cancel without loss - dh's job being what it is. So comes in at over £200. Hey ho.

um, news of W&A nature:

the OWW Breton was much admired (and I made sure that I wore my coat as little as possible so that it could be duly noted Grin - totally know where you are coming from MB)
I like that VWA very much bloss and am also having mad sugar cravings (for brown sugar in my coffee) - poss cycle related. But am on Pure Protein week this week so no wavering!!

Went into Questionair bc it was, um, next door to shop where I was buying friend's pressie for tonight and bc L was asleep and bc I was with world's biggest enabler aka DD ... anyway, hells checked on the name those Goldsign jeans just in case I linked you to the wrong ones and the ones I have are called MISFIT (which made me smile, I must say, given your experience)
Also, those Rupert Sanderson shoes were there .. in my size .. and with a slight scuff (had been returned, they didn't have them in 41 when I was last there) .. so the lovely salespeople offered me a further discount on the sale price .. well, what would you have done?? Grin

so have almost exceeded Jan budget already Shock but am doing rather well out of ebay on most recent listings so will consider it free money and a) return the Alice & olivia and b) not buy the Reiss gold tank (maybe) Wink

Luckily Dune studded boots & zara marantalike not in Jan budget as they were exchanges on dh's purchases, phew.

So just have Reiss dress, In wear top and RS shoes to feel guilty about consider.

could have been worse - left to dd I'd own the whole store by now, including duplicates of pieces I already own!!!

tracey fingers x'd for dry pants at pick up!

pickledsiblings · 10/01/2011 13:56

I am loving the use of the word shite Marsha and Mrs J Grin. Reminds me of home.

Tracey, how can you not get the VWA. Your two fav. colours and stripes...you simply must. No colouring in required Smile.

What's to be nervous about the meet up? The lovely thing about this thread is how people look for (and find) the best in each other. I love being surrounded by beautiful people (even though I am no oil painting)and there will most certainly be a fair few great frocks to admire. Enough with the nerves already tracey and MrsJ.

dexter73 · 10/01/2011 14:03

Just got my Brora preview Wink!

ltec, when we moved here we left a brand spanking new nursery with lovely staff for ancient prefab classrooms (that I was taught in 35 yrs ago) and general chaos. DS didn't bat an eyelid and was really happy there. As was dc2.
Hope it works out for you.

I am pmsl at your pj comment pickled! lovely words about the thread. Thank you.

Well I've survived lunchtime without buying pjs, undies anything. Phew. Off to the library and the health food shop next before school run and swimming. Should be safe from temptation there!

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 14:13

Pickled...I'm the shite word starter!

Dexter - I got it too. Filled up my basket. Went Shock at the total. And have walked away. I have already been too (potentially - haven't received orders yet) avid this month.

LTEC - thanks so much for checking. I have them all packed up ready to send back but will dig out my email to see what I actually did order. Through truthfully you have many miles more leg length than me so I shouldn't be surprised that what works on you doesn't necessarily work on me!

dexter73 · 10/01/2011 14:14

Just looked everything, and the stripy snood isn't reduced - still £49!! Tbh the reductions overall are fairly small.

dexter73 · 10/01/2011 14:16

I'm not ordering anything either as I got a cashmere cardy in the Boden sale for £38 and the one I liked in Brora has only been reduced from £189 to £149.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 10/01/2011 14:18

The Brora sale preview is now on ladies. In case you haven't had an email, the "access code" is SADXM.

I found it a bit uninspiring actually. I need a new black cardie for work but black isn't in the sale, and the other colours are a bit autumnal, not so much spring brights.

But I couldn't have an empty basket so I'm trying this blouse and a cheapy top which has already gone from the website.

Baby Ooooh had his swimming class this morning and so I've been wandering around with unbrushed hair and no make up, but even so my friend gave the Gap coated skinnies and Whistles sequin top a rave review. She's a sleb stylist and knows her onions so it made up for the rest of me being in an absolute state!

Wandered past the Question Air this morning LTEC and thought about you and those shoes!

And I LOVE the VWA! Is this the new Janice (if we save up Grin)?

traceybath · 10/01/2011 14:18

Dexter - I was v underwhelmed with brora sale - thank goodness Grin

I have bought nothing so far this month Shock

Fully expecting bank to ring me and check I am still alive Wink

And dry pants and no tears at all Smile

Glad C got on well too

ReineDeSaba · 10/01/2011 14:19

Hi..just in the midst of big h and m order..any codes by any chance( carciofi Smile )
