Just to say I'm back lovely ladies! Hope you've all had a good start to 2011. I haven't kept up at all so will try and catch up a bit later on this week.

Had a fab time, unfortunately back to reality with a bang today as back at work Sad. My new years resolution is to generally simplify my life (same as the resolution for last year) - a work in progress Smile

Vin thank you soooo much for the coat, it was so lovely to come home to it. The size 4 fits much better than the 6. Looking forward to wearing to work today.

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 07:30

Morning!

Welcome back Zembo. So glad you made it on holiday Smile. Glad you had a lovely time.

I keep thinking about my Billy Jeans and am not sure, they could be really bad! Wish they would hurry up and arrive so I will know. Could be Spray on Shoes (cloudy with meatballs).

I did laugh at The Mother of All Meet Ups Grin. It does feel like that. More so if there has been no previous dry-run!

But I really want to meet you all so I am determined not to wilt. Plus I really want to see what we all decide to wear, I already feel I have knowledge of your wardrobes.

PlumSykes · 10/01/2011 08:06

Morning all, welcome home, Zembo!

I feel utterly rotten today, sinusitis, I think. But at last it is the first day of term, so it's not all bad.

Have got to take DS to GP this morning, as results of his chest xray are in. I rang on Fri, expecting to hear 'Oh, nothing there to worry about', only to be told we need to see the doc. Cue me feeling sick with worry and not sleeping all weekend.

Everything, I am so cross with your husband. It's like he truly thinks nothing is his responsibility: DS's development. Nah. Your marriage. Nah. Reminds me of Dh's brother, who seems to think that terrible things just keep happenening to him. Two wives and 6-yes 6-children later, he's still quite certain that it's nothing to do with him, just the way things happen around him. Okay, crazy rant over. I like the house BTW, though I always thought you were Brighton, not C. No idea why.

mrsjuan · 10/01/2011 08:20

Morning everyone,

Welcome back Zembo, hope you're feeling refreshed after your holiday -have been thinking about you.

Hope everything goes well at the doctors plum - what a worry.

Pickled: I have booked a room for the meet up - if anyone else booking twin rooms I had to phone up expedia as they were showing as unavailable on the website - the nice man has assured me that he has requested 2 beds in the room but I will phone hotel directly to check too. I'll pm you with the details.

notyummy · 10/01/2011 08:29

Morning all - so good to see you back Zembo, I hope you had an amazing time. Plum - sorry to hear you don't feel well, and about your worries re DS. I hope you at least get to find out what the issues are today. One of my best friends is currently up at the hospital with her eldest DS who has up until now been the model of a healthy child (colds etc aside). He has been in for 10 days and the doctors still aren't sure whether he has a virus or it is a first appearance of asthma, but every time they take him off the oxygen his sats drop. I know she will be shattered, as you get no sleep in hospital (as some of you ladies will sadly know) through a combination of random 'hospital' noise, and worry about your DC. Unfortunately she lives in Glasgow, or I would try and get round to spend some time with her 2 youngest and do some stuff around the house for her. Feel Sad I can't help more.

This morning was my first day back in my usual routine since 21st December. It's fair to say that I haven't missed having to leave the house at 6 20am!! I was in work for a day last week, but dropped DD off at school and did a short day. Will be propping eyes open with matchsticks tonight, as I didn't sleep well last night (never seem to on Sunday night - does anyone else get that?)

Am wearing new skirt today to cheer me up - here. Wearing with blue fitted jumper, black opaques and heels plus cropped aquamarine Jigsaw jacket. Like you Everything I have been good this month (although not quite as good!), and that skirt is all I have bought. I do keep on thinking about the fact I have my personal shopping session to book, and that is putting me off buying anything else, as it seems a bit unnecessary. Doubtless I may end up adding some of my own funds to the personal shopping session (DH has included a generous 'allowance' but I am sure I will end up wanting a few things when I have the opportunity for a long trying on session - particularly things I don't usually try.

I have been mentally flicking through the frocks in my wardrobe (of which, like LTEC, I have quite a few....) and have earmarked a couple of contenders for the meet-up dress. The twp I have in mind so far are complete opposites of each other. One relatively sober (charcoal grey) but uber-flattering, and the other edging towards WAG-tastic. A KM number that I have had for a few years, but people always comment on (positively!) when I drag it out of the wardrobe. Unstated it ain't though....purple snakeskin with sequins anyone?! I know - it sounds rank, but somehow I think it works. DH chose it for me, so I figure it can't be too outrageous as he is generally more conservative than me where clothes are concerned. I may need to invest in either shoes or handbag for the night, as I don't spend much on either and may need to up my game.

Will book the meet-up hotel later to cheer myself up.

LetThemEatCake · 10/01/2011 08:32

welcome home zembo and happy 2011.

plum hope you are okay

first day back at nursery today and first time that C will be on his own. Sad He is obv quite anxious about it but we think that a bit of sep btwn him and P will be good (she is quite overbearing and it's hindering his social development a bit ...)

anyway, just to say that I am wearing my OWW cowl Breton and straight leg 7FAMs with leopard pumps and I am so, so pleased with the top - thanks a million OWW. It looks and feels lovely.

MrsJ did you buy the black HH in the end?

Marsha when will you get your shoes? I hope they are fab!

enjoy your days all

LetThemEatCake · 10/01/2011 08:39

sorry just quickly - are you lot adding the breakfast option to your hotel bookings?

mrsjuan · 10/01/2011 08:46

Cake - Yes to both- breakfast included in hotel booking. I love hotel breakfasts Blush

and have ordered HH - don't think it will be here for a few days though as fast delivery was £10 Shock so went for slightly cheaper slower delivery. Hopefully it will be my meet up dress.

Good luck to C at nursery - a big day for him

First pair of shoes (black heels) from KG sale just arrived and are going straight back as are not leather as purported to be and just aren't all that.

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 08:58

love the HH.

I'm at home today. House is a tip (cleaner is on holiday for a few weeks) and I have to get into baking mode. DS's birthday t/m so I've got to do brownies for the class and then his favourite cake for the evening 'treat' meal (he is having his party later in the month).

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 08:58

Haha MrsJ dh and I have a thing about breakfasts too. Esp Aus ones! They had an industrial juicer and a pile of fresh oranges to make that frothy fresh juice and as many properly made macchiatos as we wanted. Was great!

Not sure Ltec not today I don't think, tomorrow I hope. First day at nursery hope it goes well, will be different for you too!

NY wow at purple snakeskin with sequins! Sounds brilliant.

I have not forgotten re bars in central London. It's quite hard to think of one I seem to have avoided that for Hoxton (or just done pubs when worked in Soho / CGarden) or clubs or waaaay back when secret raves (hahahah) since being here. But there must be a good (dark, one that passes Mariah Carey's metre reading) bar near Mayfair....

Am wearing raspberry cashmere and wool tweed shorts. The colour of the raspberry magenta is so warm and rich it annoys me to wear something on top. Does any hate winter coats like I do?, even nice Chloe ones annoy me as they are just great big lumps of wool! (although possibly too big).

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2011 08:59

MrsJ which HH did you get?

notyummy · 10/01/2011 09:07

When I was 6 months pregnant, Dh and I wnet to Las Vegas and stayed here. The breakfasts were to die for! At the time, most people didn't know I was pregnant by looking at me, and I hadn't put much weight on....I am fairly sure that situation had changed after the breakfasts there!

bunnymother · 10/01/2011 09:24

Marsha - I was wearing raspberry cashmere yesterday - love that colour. Until Lia threw up all over me. Was not pleased.

So... I went to Uniqlo and bought new jeans and a merino/cashmere cardi. And I have ordered the White Company roll over waistband jersey trousers. Once I buy the Warehouse swallow scarf (if I like it in RL) that's my january budget gone - boo!

Mac - am a big fan of the Uniqlo jeans - fit me v well.

Anyone having a C section - I recommend the Uniqlo jeans as they are medium rise so don't rub on your scar. Unlike all my TopShop maternity jeans and my non-mat low cut jeans (not that I can get into them yet anyway!)

blossoming · 10/01/2011 09:50

I have booked through Late Rooms, two queen beds and breakfast £139.

blossoming · 10/01/2011 09:59

Sorry, just dashing in there! Morning all!
Welcome back zembo! glad the coat is good.
Good luck with back to normal routines today everyone. plum, fingers crossed for you.
I love the sound of raspberry knitwear. I'm wearing navy blue cowl neck sweater with skinnies today. It's an old monsoon Blush one from 2 years ago that I didn't wear as got pregnant soon after and recently 'found'. It's really nice, viscose, but goes in the tumble dryer!!
Raining here today. I'm still wobbly with chocolate cravings so treating myself to north India prawn curry for lunch.

redllamayellowllama · 10/01/2011 10:12

Sounds yum, blossoming. Is that from I Love Curry? Bought it on your recommendation and am very much enjoying cooking from it.

Everything, she's so sadistic; I was pretty mean back to her yesterday! Fingers crossed for the house - looks to be ideal.

Hope everything is ok at the docs Plum and so sorry you've been left to worry over the weekend.

Good luck to C on his first 'big' day Cake.

Bunny, if you went for the cargos, please report back, have been on the hunt for a flattering pair.

blossoming · 10/01/2011 10:23

Yes it is red! Page 75.

hellsbelles · 10/01/2011 10:47

Plum - sorry somehow missed you have that worry - I hope it all goes well today.

And good luck to master C too.

macmama · 10/01/2011 10:51
