it is VERY annoying. And I agree that Rufus has an odd voice!

LetThemEatCake · 09/01/2011 21:51

who is KK DT? not Ms Katona Grin

can i just tell you all how gorgeous esher is

hellsbelles · 09/01/2011 21:52

Reine - Are you dark haired? If it's just a few greys - then colour gloss is probably the best place to start...it's semi permanent and looks much more natural than a permanent colour which looks very harsh in my opinion (with dark hair). It usually lasts 4-6 weeks. I have had to dye my grey away for years but I get it done at the hairdressers now.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 09/01/2011 21:54

Bunny you are truly lovely. I can tell that you are one of those amazing friends who glues a group together. And you liked the jacket to boot!

CHOOGIRL · 09/01/2011 21:55

ROFL at Esher being compared to Kerry Katonia. I think DT means Keira Knightly. Will post again when I stop laughing.

LetThemEatCake · 09/01/2011 21:55

reine i am a dye-free zone so no help there but for dry clean only I generally (collective groan from W&A ladies) put in pillow case, secure with rubber band, wash on handwash cycle

red we need daytime meet up at the DG centre with MM before I depart these environs. Lovely scarf!

notyummy · 09/01/2011 21:58

Listening in to grey hair discussion. I have a few that show up on my parting. Am most vexed about them. My previous hairdresser (who was camp as Christmas and hilarious) used to call them 'nature's highlights sweety...no need to do anything with then.'

But they are getting worse.....

ReineDeSaba · 09/01/2011 21:59

Sorry..my post was so involved, took so long to type had to go back and read loads.. esher you sound gorgeous

thanks Hells I am dark haired and so it has become quite noticeable that I don't have time to pull the greys out at the moment Grin Any make of gloss you recommend?

hellsbelles · 09/01/2011 22:04

Reine - so sorry I don't know the brand as it's just mixed at the hairdressers.

ReineDeSaba · 09/01/2011 22:04

good grief!how slow am I on the keyboard..

thank you ltec will try pillowcase indeed Smile

ny I used to wonder why people worried so much about a few grey hairs Shock unfortunately now I know Sad

hellsbelles · 09/01/2011 22:05

DH used to pull my greys out for me - in the manner of a chimp picking off nits. It was actually oddly therapeutic but it got to the stage that he was pulling out almost more than he was leaving in Grin

redllamayellowllama · 09/01/2011 22:06

Cake, you leaving sarf-east has me a little dismayed. Quite clearly no rational justification for this, seeing as we've never met. Let's make it happen before you head off.

Very impressed by you biting the bullet and moving, we've been umm-ing and aah-ing over a move for years and are no closer to actually doing it.

ReineDeSaba · 09/01/2011 22:06

Grin Grin

pickledsiblings · 09/01/2011 22:07

CHOO, thanks for clarifying! I thought Kerry Katona and then did this face Confused.

I remember a beautiful face from way back when there was talk of festivals. Someone was in the paper. Can't remember if it was esher or everything (?)

ReineDeSaba · 09/01/2011 22:07

baby up,gotta go..

macmama · 09/01/2011 22:09

Agree Reine about Notyummy saying it just right.

Glad you had a good weekend notyummy I also feel more stylish generally since being on this thread (and also since losing some extra pounds) - its because I always make an effort now and only wear things I like. Must throw half my wardrobe out... Glad you had nice time with your DH. I saw mine for a few days at Xmas(in someone else's house surrounded by my extended family) but, now that he has been gone a month am really starting to feel it (can't recall what you said about the worst points). DD1 keeps writing him heart wrenching love letters about how much she misses him :(

He is coming back for short visit (DD1's first birthday) in just under 3 weeks then I am taking the girls to see him in half term but its going to be a long old haul....

Reine, grays are the curse of a glamourous brunette, I fear. I have heard very good things about the new John Freida foam hair colour, although like Hells I go to the salon, so no direct experience. Every 4 weeks, hairdresser shrieks in horror, clutches my shoulders with anguish at the thought of me going about my daily life with such horrors in my hair, and then slaps on the colour. Am due another bollocking on Wed, as am no doubt not using the GHDs properly or some such.

CHOOGIRL · 09/01/2011 22:11

Thanks for the smart-lipo information everyone. Will pass on to my friend. Have been to the gym today (did yoga) and am booked in for a class tomorrow night. I have 13 weeks to my bf wedding, 14 weeks to my holiday and more importantly less than 8 weeks to meet up.

Reine I have a vegetable semi on my hair every couple of months, pretty sure it is safe as it is done at the same time I have my chemical relaxer.

Meet up gals would you like me to investigate drinking/eating venues now we know which hotel?

Cake those RS shoes look lovely. I'm also wondering whether I'll ever be able to comment on a shoe link without referring to the maternity choos Grin. I know, I know, I need to get over it Grin

Everything that house looks just the ticket. Fingers and toes crossed.

Red I really like that swallow scarf.

LetThemEatCake · 09/01/2011 22:13

star crossed friends red - let's not forget Biscuit. My dd tried to nick your purse - does not that qualify as having met??

hellsbelles · 09/01/2011 22:15

pickled - I think that was our lovely everything at the festival

Reine - meant to say - I was hugely concerned about hair colour in pregnancy so avoided it - but couldn't find anything to suggest it would cause issues with BF...so I felt o.k. about getting it done after the births (and was hugely relieved to no longer look like a scary, scraggly witch.

ApuskiDusky · 09/01/2011 22:16

Reine, I gloss my grey hairs away too at the hairdressers, no reason why you couldn't do it yourself, but can't recommend a brand.

MrsJ, the block-in-mouth episode sounds v scary, well done for staying calm. I well remember ds1 coming to me saying "mummy I've got a screw stuck up my nose..." and the panic that ensued!

DT, the Joseph dress is gorgeous, looks perfect for the not-so-busty amongst us!

I have just been browsing a little, in a "What could I buy if I get the job tomorrow" way (stupid I know!), and I do like this - I'm not sure it could be classed as suited for corporate black tie do's though. And none left in my size anyway. But I still like!

redllamayellowllama · 09/01/2011 22:16

Reine, I can recommend a vegetable semi that I've had done in the past at a local Aveda salon. Leaves your hair in amazing condition and took a really long time to fade.

macmama · 09/01/2011 22:17

Reine I do similar to Choo on my random greys - a very mellow semi every time I get my hair done.

One of my hairdresser friends recommended only getting roots done as even semis can be harsh after a while. With your gorgeous silky locks I would tread carefully - with my coarse frizz top it doesn't matter so much - my hair is super strong (even takes being chemically relaxed) but I would prefer your hair in a flash - you have my dream hair!

eshermummy · 09/01/2011 22:18

Kerry Katona? Biscuit Grin

That's enough thanks guys, anymore and I'll need to book a separate room for my ego at meet-up Grin

LTEC you never mentioned the rubber band before. Everytime I have ever used the patented knotted pillowcase method it has come undone and the item has been merrily swooshed about in the machine's innards and I have wondered why does this never happen to LTEC? Now I know. Rubber Band.

Choo Stop Laughing.

notyummy · 09/01/2011 22:19

Choo - you are officially our 3am girl Grin so any ideas you can come up with would be mist gratefully received !

Perhaps Ltec, Marsha or Bunny may have some ideas? Or any of the ex-London ladies??

Oh, quick 'nearly blubbed' moment for me tonight. Watched the end of ET with dd (her latest obsession). Later at bedtime I reminded her that she wouldn't see me in the morning because I was leaving for work v early and the mothers help would be looking after her. She held up her finger like ET and put it on my heart 'That's ok mummy because I know I am right there.' sniff!
