hellsbelles · 08/01/2011 21:21

has anyone got this Zara blouse - is it awful or good in RL? It's apparently a mixture of 100% polyester and 100% silk Confused

hellsbelles · 08/01/2011 21:21

ltec you will be fine...you have us Grin (or is saying that a bit weird?!)

GeorginaWorsley · 08/01/2011 21:33

Looby Coast and Whistles sell well on ebay, ime.
Esher love the KG shoe boots. And Phase Eight dress.

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 21:35

LTEC - am a bit Confused 20 mins west of Westfield is the outer reaches of Chiswick, which is not near Tracey?
Still, if has a Waitrose am sure it will be lovely ....Grin

Looby I think LTEC means <a class="break-all" href="//www.hollywoodmegastore.com/frame-set3.htm?www.hollywoodmegastore.com/cgi-bin/VirtualCatalog3/CatalogMgr.pl?cartID=b-4435&SearchField=partnumber&SearchFor=4184&template=Htx/disney.htx&hdr=Hollywood+Mega+Store+Product+Listing:+Disney+Lifesize+Ariel+Standups&" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Ariel Grin
I prefer the second one too and actually I don't think a bra would be a problem, it looks high enough to me?

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 21:35

sorry Looby no I meant the little mermaid (ashamed that disney now occurs to self over and above shakespeare, I majored in E Lit ffs!!) I love sequins but those ones put me in the mind of a mermaid ...dykwim?

not weird hells .. comforting. Is that weird??

esher I was in Guildford today. Good grief, is it always that rammed??

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 21:41

Do you know LTEC I have not been to Guildford for more than 15 years (was at law school there). It simply never occurs to me to go there, we always go to Kingston. I keep meaning to ask Guildford dwellers to tell me about the shops (Kingston vcan be a bit, ahem whispers chav-tastic shall we say).

Pickled do you mean Lambs Conduit Street? Will check it out next time, am up there next Wednesday in fact.
Funny you should say about Warehouse - I notice that the Kingston branch had closed down. I think it may be going the way of instore concessions only and may be going under?

loobylu3 · 08/01/2011 21:52

Ha, ha- v funny! I do see what you mean and think I would have to try it on really. I have seen it in purple too which is a bit less Ariel like!

Thank you GW- may give e bay a go.

esher- My sister was also at Law school In Guildford after her degree. Are you a lawyer currently?
Re e baying, I think you could give it a try with one or two items. It may put some people off but I guess it mainly depends on how desirable your items are :)

blossoming · 08/01/2011 21:56

No I never bought anything before I started selling! I have sold Boden (best seller), Coast, Whistles, Phase Eight, R&B, Gucci and D&G sunglasses, Kew, Jimmy Choo. 7's, Paige, maternity Formes, Mamas & Papas.
Everyone has to start somewhere right?

DTI10 · 08/01/2011 21:56

very quick post from me!

Not read the new thread so forgive me - will try and do so tonight to catch up.

A bit me, me again. Am feeling bleurgh following a really good break with the DC's and DH over xmas. Returning to working extra long hours and all the logistics of school/work etc etc has left me exhausted. I am also missing the DC's (and DH)! Sad

I did, however, purchase a red belted Joseph silk dress in the sale from HOF. I will try and find a link as not online.

No Edelmans in the house now - need to find something similar!

Sorry for very boring post.

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 21:59

Looby- I was a lawyer but I gave up before getting PG with DD1 so haven't practised for over 6 years now and am not planning to return!

hf128219 · 08/01/2011 22:02

LTEC Very quick one. Are you moving to Guildford? And yes, it's always mobbed.

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 22:02

hi DT - apologies if I have linked to these before but I have these which are very like the Edelmans when on (very slightly lower). With codes they come out as a steal Grin

hf128219 · 08/01/2011 22:08

Esher Guildford shopping good. Little London, Courtyard boutique, Brora, Space NK, cobbled high street, nice cafes/restaurants. House of Fraser/Whistles/LK/GD. It's all good!

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 22:14

good god no hf - far too close to the in laws (was there for MiL's b'day today)

yes lots of shops!!

hello DT!! sorry you are feeling bleurgh. Post Xmas slump is always a toughie I think. Dress sounds fab though!

can't I tempt you with my studded booties?? Grin Wink they come in a 42 ...

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 22:16

Hf thanks! I was wondering about popping to Gford on the train as I dislike driving. I am bored of Kingston and I really miss the villagey feel of Hampstead or Marylebone which were my London stamping grounds Sad. I was considering training it to Wimbledon Village but the walk from the station puts me off (have only limited time windows whilst dd2 at nursery).
My recollections of Gford are hazy - is the cobbled/bijou shops bit far from the station?

loobylu3 · 08/01/2011 22:20

esher- I'm sure law isn't for everyone! My sister was there around 1998/99- were you there at a similar time at all?

Have just taken a few photos in preparation for e baying. I'm rather short of funds this month- lots of Xmas buying and various bills to pay! So I know I have no money for clothes or other luxuries but being tempted by 'bargains' in the sales!

ApuskiDusky · 08/01/2011 22:27

Tracey I've just PMed you; no rush though, I know you're madly busy!!

blossoming · 08/01/2011 22:27

My ex-b was from G'ford. Spent some time there years ago!

DTI10 · 08/01/2011 22:33

have quickly skimmed through....

esher ans so, so, sorry about DD and accident. Hope she is much better now. Gosh, what a week for you with hospital appt and then trip to emergency.

I am going to order those shoeboots you linked to as well as suede flat boots happy to try and give them a go if they are in my size! BTW - I love the GD in Guildford, much better than the GD in St John's Wood. The assistants in Guildford are really helpful. Agree the returns policy stinks.

cake - yes, yes, yes, the studded boots are for me! 42 - here I come....but Dune? I have never seen a 42 in Dune before. I tried on your Reiss dress (love it btw) before Christmas and put it back as could not justify having another lovely dress and no occasion to wear it. A move too? How exciting for you all.

vin - the LK pencil skirt has sold out in my size. Well done for getting through the interview after an interesting journey.

Traceyb - fingers crossed for a successful house purchase.

everything - sorry you are still unwell. Hope the medicine perks you up. You need to be strong for all the changes coming your way.

Am still pondering about the bag....

DTI10 · 08/01/2011 22:35

hells - hello! I like the Zara blouse v much.

KILDARE4 · 08/01/2011 22:37

Hells Two of the girls I was away skiing with last week had that top, one in pattern you linked to, the other in a leopard print; I thought the leopard print fabric looked much better quality, your one was quite flimsy where the leopard print appeared quite silky - hope this is of help to you Smile

Esher Love those boots! I too adore Marlybone - will be there next Saturday - am so looking forward to it Grin

pickledsiblings · 08/01/2011 22:41

Esher, yes, I do mean Lambs Conduit Street. Lambs Lane is where DS1's school is Grin.
The French House has taken all of it's online business in house down there and the lady who runs it seems lovely. I must warn you though, there is an undertakers (with some v. nice old stained glass panels), right next to a florists. There are some nice places to grab a coffee too.

Does your DD have on going medical problems? I Hope all's well for her on Wednesday.

Oh, I tried those KGs on because I've been lusting after them but they made me look too much like an elf. I bought these instead, also a steal at £40.

hf128219 · 08/01/2011 22:43

LTEC Ah yes, my memory is coming back now! But I am very near there.

Esher Come out of station. Straight ahead, over bridge, through shopping centre, turn left - you are on the High St. 5/6 mins from station on foot!

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 22:48

Been back to look at Hells's Zara link which I somehow missed - very nice. I saw and was tempted by that a while back but was a bit put off by the fact that the similar-ish silk leopard blouse I bought (LTEC also had) came up v large and an S was too big Sad

Looby I'm a bit older than your sis I would think as I qualified in 1998. Is she still practising? I have to say I think (magic circle city) lawyering is about the most gruelling, un-family friendly career you could get. DH is still doing it so I get to see it from another viewpoint now and it still looks grim - financially rewarding but grim.

DT - make sure you use the KG codes (maybe do 2 orders if would be cheaper?), they are in the KG thread further down Smile !!!

bunnymother · 08/01/2011 22:49

Super quick post... Things have been crazy here - Wonder Nanny is sick - I was home alone w all 3 DDs yesterday - flat out like a lizard lying drinking in the sun. Babies took turns crying and DD1 became super clingy. Got panicky then realised that many of you Wise Ladies do it so I can too. It actually helped to think like that.

Notyummy - no PM from you re meet up. Have I been voted off the island? Wink

Cakey - oh God, moving house. My heart sinks at the thought. But lifts at realising that you are only 20 mins drive from Westfield - we can meet up one day if you fancy (I will bring babies and leave Delie w Wonder Nanny). We are all going to Westfield tomorrow (family outing Grin). Oh, and I lvoe those studded booties!

everything - disappointed for you re the house Sad, but then "what is meant for you will not go past you"? [optimistic]

Ladies - I went to soft play for the first time every today! Climbing after DD1 got the heart rate up...

Vin and Apuski - hope the interviews result in offers of places at med school and jobs!

Oh dear, a baby is stirring...
