Hi Ladies..how avidly you post!

mrsj meant to say very sorry for your parents' sadness over dog..hard to see them in pain.

vin and apuski everything crossed for you..

everything I'm so sorry your parents aren't offering you unconditional support..do you have a sibling who could be an ally and hope a lovely house comes into your life very soon.

esher I went green when I read about dd2..really hope you are both recovered now.

hells dd1 did the same as a toddler..I was mortified when police turned up as I was still in pajamas at 10 o'clock and also half terrified they'd come as bearers of bad news about DH.

ltec what did DH actually buy you from Westfield?the Reiss looks lovely..you will look divine in that colour.

fritz have you arranged a doctor's appointment yet?I'm sorry you're feeling under the weather.

ABO we went to the darts pre-children..a great gang of us..a total hoot.

VB inevitably I love the AF best(expensive tastes)sil very pale so not sure she would look her best in the very pale ivory ones..she is lovely and thin so think fairly fitted a must to show off great figure!

ReineDeSaba · 08/01/2011 18:38

fleecy are those boots our avid and wise mob buy!...glad you are feeling better now.sad to lose someone important from your youth.

blossoming · 08/01/2011 18:38

Delish verity. May need red wine?! Good win last night. The shoeboots might go out next Friday to the rescheduled golf club karaoke. If not, to a 50th birthday the week after. They're definitely coming to meet up!

Your lunch sounds lovely too ltec. DS wants to go stay the night with MIL next Saturday. I'm bracing myself.

KILDARE4 · 08/01/2011 19:02

Everything My sister was in a similar situation to you, my parents did come around and my mum is now very supportive of her Smile.

I need to check out ebay, I have never sold anything on it, but due to restrictions of space and my tendency to hoard I now need to, have any posters had much success?

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 19:19

have sold loads on ebay Kildare, good clothing funding.

meant to say verity - thanks for the Reiss pink dress enabling. It is lovely and I am glad I got it even if pickled thinks it looks like an unfinished ballgown and that i have too many dresses Wink Thanks to you to reine Smile

re dh's purchases he just went a bit mad in Zara - obvious panic buying - and who could blame him, the place is terrifyingly disorganised at the best of times let alone sale time. Not a bad haul but none of it wanted, so to speak.

fleecy meant to say - had same sitch about 2 years ago when my ex's mother died. She was the MIL I wanted (just not the son!!) I found it really hard actually but it actually bought my ex and I closer in a weird ex kind of way. Hope the family - and you of course - are all okay.

blossoming · 08/01/2011 19:20

kildare, I started this time last year. I initially sold a lot of good stuff for less than I should have, but it's a learning curve. I'm a bit more savvy now, maybe this time when I've put quite high prices on my stuff I won't do as well. But having said that I sold a boden merino tunic straight away today for £30 so hopefully the other stuff will go too.
I'm not a hoarder at all, and I used to throw/charity shop everything. Now everything with any worth is ebayed. I'm a sahm though and I have time on my hands and a good quality clothes addiction!
I found it very therapeutic last year after what happened to take control of my life and simplify things. For me, clutter in any form really clutters up my mind. Now I hardly have any clothes, but what I have I've paid good money for and I love and wear to death. I'll probably have to replace this part of my wardrobe next a/w!
The stuff I'm selling is from early last year when I was a size 14 and bought some nice stuff for teaching my evening classes. They're still nice, but I don't want to wear them as they're too big, and I don't want to be that size again.
Sorry, got carried away there..!

Mumsnut · 08/01/2011 19:43

'clutter in any form really clutters up my mind'

Amen to that Bloss!

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 19:51

oh one piece of news from me speaking of decluttering .. we are moving out of London! Shock Just until we move home at the end of the year but basically it's bc of dh's work and where one arm of his business is relocating to plus needing to be closer to an airport bc of all the travel and the faff it involves with kit .. anyway blah blah long story it's been in the pipeline since September but we were unsure whether worth the upheaval for the sake of 9 months .. anyway, have decided it is worth the upheaval so goodbye SE London as we found a house (to rent - we won't sell our London places) last week.

All of which means
a) I will be a bit closer to Tracey Smile
b) I may need post-meet up accomm (but may stay with a friend)
c) I have got a major declutter to do
d) WHERE WILL I WEAR MY OUTFITS!???!!!??

hellsbelles · 08/01/2011 19:52

Bloss - that's impressive. I really need to get going on ebay.

Apuski Grin - I had a funny feeling when I clicked on your link...that the boots I just bought a couple of hours ago would be the same! And they are. I love the Cake Edelmans so much and these are quite similar but a lower heel which means I can wear them in the day!

I went to get my first facial in ages. Bliss (despite them doing an awful skin photo thing before hand and showing me how horrendous my skin actual is). I got there 30 mins early so I could do a mad dash in R&B and Joseph (sale). I got the aforementioned shoeboots and a lovely star/black blouse in Joseph (50% discount). It is a size too big though but I'm ignoring that!

KILDARE4 · 08/01/2011 19:56

Bloss Thank you so much for that. I too find that a lot of clutter clutters my mind and have a similar addiction to quality clothing, hence the clearout! To date the idea of dumping lots of clothes with nothing wrong seems so wasteful - I do bring bags of stuff to Sue Ryder but feel I could clearout a whole lot more! .i will now go to the ebay thread which i think exists on MN to pick up some tipsSmile
I got these shoe boots, they look good with khaki Houlihans and are comfortable to boot! - no pun intendedGrin

loobylu3 · 08/01/2011 20:01

I like your sale purchases apuski

oooh- sorry but not too keen on the jacket- maybe wait for the test! Fingers crossed for a positive!

vin- the woman at your interview sounds horrible! Maybe she was just trying to wind you up to get a reaction but a pretty mean way to do it considering your DD's illness.
I think all that you have been through would make you acutely aware of the workings of a hospital :(

esher- scary when things like that happen and hope your DD is feeling better!

everything-poor you. Haven't really caught the details of your loss of voice. Has it been a long time?

Your lunch sound lovely LTEC and I like the dress (think I already said that)!

Am feeling a bit irritated as bought this Zara raincoat the other day. Have only worn it a couple of times and noticed that a seam at the arm is coming undone this pm! Going to have to complain and try to get a refund.
Think I may also return the wool coat I linked to also and buy the longer raincoat.

Still undecided about the dresses which I linked to the other day. Spotted this and this on the FC website which I like.
Slightly concerned about wearing a bra with the low back of the no.1 (definitely need a bra post 3 DC)!!

carciofi · 08/01/2011 20:02

LTEC, that is great news.

Kildare, eBay is worth the hassle of listing, I think. Although I do now regret selling my LV bags.

OooohWhatIfItHurts, I don't think sheepskin goes out of fashion. Good luck with the test!

Esher, your poor little DD!

Hells, my DD has phone the police too. Blush

Apuski, great shopping.

I can't find anything I want in the Kurt Geiger sale but have just bought a lovely bed. :)

hellsbelles · 08/01/2011 20:15

sorry LTEC - xpost. How exciting!

blossoming · 08/01/2011 20:46

How exciting ltec. Get your nights out in now!

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 20:52

Thanks all dd2 is fine now, still hurling herself around the place which is a bit stressful as she her head is exactly at the height of table corners etc
Spent 2 hours today in Bo Concept looking at the sofas for our new tv room (yes, with both dd's in tow, aagh).

Loving all the shoe-boot links people Smile, was musing over these earlier but not sure if I need any more boots

blossoming · 08/01/2011 21:01

Oh I never buy anything on eBay esher!!

eshermummy · 08/01/2011 21:04

Bloss - So when you started selling did you have no customer feedback rating?
My friend seemed to think no rating would put buyers off Confused

loobylu3 · 08/01/2011 21:06

Have bought quite a few things on e bay (for the house, not clothes) and have mostly been successful.
Have been meaning to list a few things which are barely worn and decent brands but not sure if they would sell or not.
bloss- do you know (as a previous seller) whether buyers go for brands like Coast/ Whistles, etc as don't want to waste precious time?

No comments on my FC links yet- do I take it that no one likes them . I can handle it if they are awful Grin

pickledsiblings · 08/01/2011 21:08

LTEC, one can never have too many ballgowns dresses Smile. Ones like the P&J red one you can dress down and wear during the day with opaques and flats along with a casual blazer and a big bag. How exciting to be moving. At least you know your way around London so whenever you visit you'll be able to make the most of it.

KILDARE, lovely shoe boots. The camel ones are fab. What a pity the black aren't suede though.

So much for DIYing today. We are just getting around to doing it now which means all 3 DC get to sleep on the futon and what a film. DS2 politely nagged me to go on a bike ride today and I was so glad that I did - I really do not get enough exercise.

Esher, I meant to ask, have you been down Lambs Lane Conduit near the hospital? There are some lovely little unique shops.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 08/01/2011 21:12

A resounding no for the jacket then; I think I'll defer to your greater wisdom.

I may be back tomorrow morning for a request for tips from all of you pregnant fashionistas. Grin I did soooo badly last time, really lost my style mojo. Or I may be back for some consolatory shopping advice!

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 21:13

the daria looby Other one is channelling Ariel too much Grin

loobylu3 · 08/01/2011 21:18

Sorry LTEC- am probably being v obtuse but what do you mean?! Ariel as in the sprite in The Tempest?
Am liking the sequins but do you mean they are overdone?

LetThemEatCake · 08/01/2011 21:19

no not Bristol esher but west-ish.

yes it's a big move but I'm looking at it as the pre-cull cull. Less to do come October!

am slightly trepidatious (totally made up word) about the lack of support network as I am surrounded by girlfriends here - great esp with dh being away so much - but am sure I will make friends (as long as I don't scare them with my school run attire Grin)

Otherwise, it's going to be a lot of imaginary friends MN for me. And a mere 20-min drive to Westfield to meet London friends Grin (yes we timed it - one of the deciding factors/ ways that dh and his business partner tried to convince me. Others were : There's a costa coffee!! a space NK!! a Waitrose!!! Grin)
