Thanks Zembo, I feel fine and happy about everything now, not worried about the birth any more either, che sara sara! I didn't put on a lot of weight last time either but did eat well. Less to lose at the other end!

Happy, which Barbour did you buy?

My friend was laughing this morning, she told her 6 yr old that she would buy her new boots and her little girl said, "I want Hunters!" My friend had never even heard of them.

LTEC, what about Scott's?

carciofi · 03/12/2010 12:46

Thanks Marsha. Sunny Australia for Christmas sounds fab. We are going to Dublin (I will be looking out for you in Howth, Rufus!)

blossoming · 03/12/2010 12:49

Great idea mumsnut!
I was in the bank this morning and I noticed a voicemail on my phone. It was one of the mums asking me to phone her. I thought something awful had happened. Anyway, she wanted to order 3 hampers for Christmas!! And 3 extra mincemeats. She wants mincemeat, chutney and biscuits in the hamper. I can do that! I've ordered giant snowflake cookie cutters and I will decorate differently, with silver balls, and red and white twine for hanging on trees.
I'm really up for this!
Thanks for the heads up re etsy esher.

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 12:53

Hey Bloss. Well done!! You'll need a company name soon.

Carciofi thanks! Smile Dublin sounds fun too.

blossoming · 03/12/2010 12:55

On that note, is there a British site for Etsy?

pickledsiblings · 03/12/2010 12:56

Off to see my baby (he's 3.5) in his Christmas play. I am afraid I have let the side down...will be wearing snow boots and duffle. But have added the Warehouse leopard scarf to jazz me up a bit. Also plan to take Monsoon fluffy leopard bag. Double leopard is OK, right? I promise it does not look anywhere near as bad as WIT double leopard horror.

One cake too many for you I thing LTEC. At least you have a lovely b'day dinner to look forward too. Will you be wearing the Halston?

pickledsiblings · 03/12/2010 13:05

This might be useful for inspiration Bloss. Not that you need any, but just a thought.

Marsha you make laugh about getting your DS to school by hook or by crook.

Carciofi I love Dublin but it's probably going to be a bit of a sombre Christmas for many over there. Hope you family aren't too badly affected. What does your house move entail? Is it a huge life changing one or just a size up/down?

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 13:19

Grin pickled. yesterday was not a great day.

enjoy your little angel or donkey / Mary/ Joseph in the Christmas play Smile

carciofi · 03/12/2010 13:42

Well done on the hamper orders, Bloss.

Pickled, we are moving for a little more space (flat to a cottage, DD very excited that we will have stairs and a garden!) and the good local school. Just renting as planning to return to Dublin within the next few years (think DH will have to commute to London though). Yes, things are rough in Ireland. My father's business has been badly affected as many clients cannot pay or are going bankrupt. He is managing to cover salaries at the moment and wants to keep the firm going for my brother. Someone has resigned so my dad can put everyone back on a 5 day week and doesn't have to make someone redundant, which is a big relief for him. Enjoy the Christmas play, I can't wait for all that!

traceybath · 03/12/2010 13:43

Hello!

Good night out last night - wore grey leopard jersey dress and high suede shoeboots so shuffled along in the the ice Grin. Luckily the 2 mums I picked up were similarly sensibly attired. One had on a black feather mini-skirt - looked fab!

Had nativity this morning which was brilliant and then have been practicing face-paintint in anticipation of school fayre tomorrow oh and sorting out stuff for nearly new stall. Wore Goat cardi-coat today and love it - had a tug on the seams and they seem ok and it was incredibly warm.

Bloss - well done on stall success.

Carciofi - glad the scan went well.

Right will catch up properly in a second.

AllBuggiedOut · 03/12/2010 13:55

carciofi glad all good at the scan Smile

tracey isn't it lovely to go out with other people in fab clothes?! Janice had an outing on Wednesday (with lace tights and shoe boots). I know many of the ladies I was with were rather elderly, but really red satin with black holly print is never appropriate for anybody Confused

Navy hunters is it - now, short or knee length, gloss or not? Grin

I've never found a British etsy bloss but would be interested to know about it if you do.

mm very envious of your coffee-making equipment!

Who was it that tried washing the dry clean only Gap dress please? Was it OK?

Hope you're soon on the mend LTEC.

MarshaBrady · 03/12/2010 14:03

Like the sound of that feather skirt very much.

Not sure what to wear tonight (posho pub), but definitely wearing something great tomorrow (party).

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 14:03

Carciofi ? so glad the scan went well.

Tracey Envy at bargainous Temperley. I think it's a great dress for spring?with bare tanned legs. I did wear mine a fair few times.

Roary ? fab j crew haul

Bloss ? well done! Sounds like business is booming

Zembo ? your planned party sounds wonderful?and I?m very jealous of your Max Mara coat. I think the grey is particularly beautiful ? so can?t wait to hear your final verdict

I did enjoy Roma/Bonsoir?s etiquette discussions. My grandmother was always trying to ensure I was well versed in such things but it all seems to be lost somewhere in my long term memory. I?m sure I constantly commit heinous crimes.

CHoo ? what a wonderful compliment to get?you are raising the style of the office!

Bunny ? sorry you are having to worry about the weight issues. I do get so angry at all this as often I think the MW?s/health visitors create panic over nothing and seem unable to use simple common sense. I do hope that it all resolves on the later weigh in (as from your description the they seem to be thriving!

LTEC ? love the boots ? bargain. Well done on auction cake success!

Had a lovely evening out with girlfriends. I was too tired/lazy/cold to go properly glam but wore a stripy grey cashmere jumper dress and it was about right.

The Durbarry boots arrived and are going straight back. Very expensive so I was expecting perfection...they are huge on my legs. Enormous. Not quite sure who they could work on as I don't think I have weirdly skinny legs.

I've also been rather wise and have taken handfuls of bras to be altered. I didn't realise this could be done but apparently on some styles it can. I had some very pretty 32 back bras that kept riding up so I'm having them reduced to 30 and they will be just right. Not cheap to do (£8 per bra) but MUCH cheaper than buying new bars.

Despite reduced bra size the rest of my clothes will have to be taken out Grin. The cold weather seems to have bought on a carb frenzy. I can't stop eating them and my body is expanding at an alarming rate Sad

blossoming · 03/12/2010 14:31

I'm desperate to get myself measured properly hells. I wonder if rigby &peller can fit me in tomorrow.

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 14:32

worth a go bloss... I bet loads of people have cancelled appointments because of the snow.

traceybath · 03/12/2010 14:35

Hells you can not be at all big if you have a 30 inch back. I'm a 32 and sometimes they feel a bit snug - think I must have a disproportionately large ribcage - how attractive Wink

Golly facepainting is quite hard. Have done a passable vampire on DS1 but really rubbish butterfly on ds2 and was naughty and told him I was doing a tractor to keep him still [bad mummy].

Have awful headache today and not sure why as I drove last night so wasn't drinking but driving round various villages dropping people off in the ice/snow was quite stressful at gone midnight.

That was DS1's last nativity as next year when he moves up the school they just do a carol concert. He's growing up Sad Smile

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 14:40

Tracey - hope your head gets better.

I suffer from 'small back, big hips' syndrome Wink...everything goes straight to my bottom and hips (and now tummy although that used to be wonderfully flat Sad)

traceybath · 03/12/2010 14:42

You see I've never ever had a flat tummy - not even as a child my mother reliably informs me Smile

Is anyone else finding their skin/lips/hands are like sandpaper. I am constantly applying lotions and balms and still I have the overall consistency of sandpaper.

LetThemEatCake · 03/12/2010 14:46

hells have you checked your inbox? you are definitely on the sent list....?

tracey glad you had a great night, was the feather skirt the same one that I tried in TS??

will catch up over lunch

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 14:49

Tracey - yes I am! In fact (and this is vile) one of my toe nails actually split vertically mid way down and came off. No blood -just so dry

LTEC - nothing has come through at all...I've double checked - can you FB me? Sorry to be a pain.

FritziGreenEyes · 03/12/2010 14:51

bloss I've just picked up my lovely parcel from the post office. Thank you so much, everything is beautiful and so lovingly made. Congrats on stall success and press coverage too Grin.

hellsbelles · 03/12/2010 14:59

just got details of the venue (thank you Cake!)...and I'm going to be a regular...that's where we are having work christmas do! Do you think I can wear my sparkly dress twice in a row there Wink

mrsjuan · 03/12/2010 15:01

Tracey - I also have a wide ribcage and it juts out at the bottom- it's very annoying. And apparently I looked like a had a football stuffed up my jumper for most of my childhood so we must be made from the same egg!
Hope you feel better soon.

I should also get measured again as don't think I am wearing the right size - perhaps could fit it in this weekend and then put some nice bras on my Christmas list.

I'm out for a friend's birthday tonight. Going to wear the astar asos dress with grey belt & charcoal tights combo again + thick coat!

Shame about the boots hells. I have tried them on before (being a horsey wannabee). They were certainly a generous fit and I am not slim of calf.

Good news on the scan carciofi Smile.

LetThemEatCake · 03/12/2010 15:11

yes hells you and I are going to have to have a chat pre- meet up as we have a fair bit of wardrobe crossover, no?

I am saving my sequins for birthday drinks party (have hired venue, can't wait) and think will wear HH for dinner with dh. My sis is also coming over from Australia for 2 weeks and we are going to do girly high tea somewhere so for that I might do lace dress/ nude shoes combo.

carci thanks for Scotts suggestion, will check it out!

zembo I hear you on party bags. I am a sucker Sad Vicarious peer pressure

Fritzi how are you feeling?

ABO do you mean the merino one? I have handwashed several times, no probs.

Have to say my £12 Harrods cashmere sweater is rapidly proving to be best buy of the season. Soooo warm and snuggly. Perfect with Rats too: you ladies not getting max use, go the oversized cashmere. Perfect.

Warehouse leopard is also on almost constantly

everything now bought for party, had to do after nursery pick up with all 3 dc - usually fine but when I feel this lousy, dear god.

Our snowman is not even identifiable as such, he is so covered by further snowfall. He was wearing my spare Primark trilby, the one both esher and fleecy were too polite to take. Would either of you like it now ladies? Grin Comes with free hairwash ....

esher I am not keen on those boots, sorry. Don't feel pressured to use m-w code just cos it's there. There are always available discounts Wink
