Thank you all so much for your kind and touching words. I don't know how I would have got through this year without all of you.
We have been to the grave, in a pretty church by the lake. It was icy cold but as we were there the sun came out and shone brightly on the water. Very beautiful.

I'm wrapped tightly in my new black Pure merino rollneck which finally arrived. Lovely long sleeves. Ah the joys of having my old small boobs back.

mrsjuan · 09/12/2010 12:03

Love the ideas for long haul travel with DCs - I take my hat off to you all Grin. We sat next to a couple with a toddler on the way back from Australia a few years ago & they did the wrapped up presents thing which worked well. He slept for about three quarters of the flight though - they said they'd drugged him and I don't think they were joking.

H&M order arrived this morning. Owl dress in size 1-2 swamps DD - it nearly touches the floor. What size did you get for B, Tracey? Also first dress on page 10 but it won't quite do up at the side (see the troubles I have with my wide ribcage?!). Bit gutted as I think the next size up will be too big everywhere else.

traceybath · 09/12/2010 12:06

Oh that sounds lovely Bloss Smile

mrsjuan · 09/12/2010 12:07

Glad you've got such a beautiful day on which to remember DD bloss. You know I think you're amazing for how well you've done this year.

Bloss sounds like just the right day.

roary · 09/12/2010 12:30

Marsha, bunny and Cakey do you know this book? It is just the loveliest book about a family who drives around Australia. DD adores it even though it is much too grown up for her, she could be reading it years from now, but the pictures are so lovely. It would be a brilliant plane book, Marsha - I always have a new long one in my bag for DD.

mrsjuan · 09/12/2010 12:34

this is a nice Australia book for littlies DH brought it back from Sydney last year and DD has loved it ever since.

hellsbelles · 09/12/2010 12:39

that sounds very poignant Bloss

Vino ? very exciting news about the interview for the course. Re the BR order?why don?t you try ringing and see if they?ll do the discount anyway ? no harm in trying. You could say, with slight menace in your voice ?Of course I could order them now at the discount and just return the first order but I wanted to save you the bother)

NY ? that is a quandary ? what is the journey time each way?

Zembo ? I don?t think those are mutton at all

Roary ? have a fab time.

Marsha ? in answer to your question I really would honestly say Blush ? M&S (and not the nice stuff). I truly had no idea at all (still don?t but getting better)?fashion wasn?t even on my radar.

MarshaBrady · 09/12/2010 12:43

Oh Hells thanks Grin, For you I was thinking something Italian. god there was an advert the other day and it made me think of you... how I imagine you. Had a dress like that cut out one you have.

But to be clear I wasn't wearing Carven. I was wearing big clompy boots and short skirts, being all aloof and existential and blonde. But at 22 I got lots of £ Shock and did start to look at fashion (in NY).

MarshaBrady · 09/12/2010 12:44

Bloss sounds really beautiful and poignant.

Bloss - how evocative your post is - I could really "see" it and felt for you.

Marsha - me at 22? All roll necks, jeans and Dr Marten shoes - I was Little Miss Cover Up. Its only since I have been w DH that I have become more feminine - almost like I was afraid of the attention / my sexuality. And since am Old Married Lady, can be comfortable looking better for some reason. Gosh, took that answer to a whole new level - sorry!

Roary - yes, do test your dope first. BIL is anaesthetist (ooh, they have the best stuff) and he told of colleague who used some sedative and unfort made child hyper. Poor, poor parents!!

Have to run - am blessed w wonderful sleepers (THANK GOD!!!) but am doing frequent feeds - 1/3 of my time spent feeding.

Tummy binder thing arrived and feels good. Will let you know if that changes and also will link if anyone interested (big shock that I went for a cheap one Grin Wink).

blossoming · 09/12/2010 13:25

Good luck with your holiday plans roary. Such a shame I can't link to the 'professor sweater' in Landsend for you!

Hope everything goes well with your move carciofi. We'll miss you on here. Better get our code requests in quick girls!

The cable knit tunic arrived from Boden yesterday but it's going back. It's given me orang utang complex! Are my arms really that long? They sent this big hardback book of biscuits with it. Do I send that back too?

Ds's nativity was lovely. Luckily I was sitting in the back as I was very close to becoming very emotional indeed. My nephew was also fabulous as Herod.

I am making mince pies for the men in my life. I do love it when dh is at home. Dd is beside herself!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 09/12/2010 13:32

I think there was some talk of UGG Kensingtons earlier in the thread, they have some in stock in shudoo with 205 off with this code: VCDECEMBER

bloss sounds like you are having a lovely day, which you deserve.

bunny if I told you you would be better off doing specific exercises to target that area would you glare at me?

traceybath · 09/12/2010 13:34

Oh yes Carciofi - good luck with the move and have a lovely time in Ireland.

H's last day at school today - hurray! He is so tired and in need of a break. We're going to go round the christmas market in bath tomorrow so he can spend his pocket money.

Bloss - my DC's also get ridiculously excited if DH is around on a week day.

traceybath · 09/12/2010 13:38

MrsJ - snap the owl dress arrived and is adorable but too long at the moment. I also ordered a very sweet mink coloured velvet dress which is really lovely for DD.

blossoming · 09/12/2010 13:40

Snap bunny, I was in 501s, black roll necks, white t shirts and doc marten boots. To go out, add red lipstick! In summer, cut off jeans!

bunnymother · 09/12/2010 13:41

Libra - I agree, will do exercises soon. I did after DD1 and made big difference. Think muscles are separated so will have to be careful. Binder mainly to make me feel more stable and contained. Oh and also to encourage return of shape! Smile

MrsJ - loving the books!

yangy and a lawyer too! You must have been the most adventurous.

Bunny I get what you mean. My friends and I would feel confused and a bit angry re the leery men (shouting from cars, in pubs and what not). I cut my hair short, loved it too. I was quite creative with outfits. But I should have bought the Azz A. 22 is best age for that!

Ds' school is safe, safe. Which is why I don't modify what I wear. And just enjoy it. Even more than when I was at work.

Took half hour to put ds to then postman rings bell. Axh!!

pickledsiblings · 09/12/2010 13:51

Sad for you Bloss. But I must say, the 'making mince pies for the men in my life' made me Smile. You sound like a truly strong and courageous woman.

Marsha you must take a supply of lego for DS1, it'll keep him amused for ages. And then there is the whole taking pictures of his models, naming then and writing their names in a little book, building a story around them etc etc...you get the picture, right? Grin. Can you say what school you looked at for him or would you like to keep it private? I'm a bit of a school Googler here!

You lot with your wide ribcages make me Grin. Don't you mean small waists?

MarshaBrady · 09/12/2010 13:53

Pickled will pm you! Are you in London btw?

pickledsiblings · 09/12/2010 13:59

Not in London but in 'education'.
