Very funny ltec! No I have issue with the Robin Hood and Merry Men styling. That turned over bit at top.
Sorry.
Those boots are lovely dt. I'm very jealous of the Edelman convention on Sunday.

Thanks again everyone for your kindness.

mrsjuan · 06/12/2010 22:20

Hmm - I am still scared of bright things, especially such a large expanse of them!

I love this but 'tis neither oversized (unless it's in US sizing) nor jewel.

notyummy · 06/12/2010 22:22

Blossoming - I can fully sympathise. Yesterday dd (4.5) walked off waving a hand at me saying 'WhatEVER Mummy. Just STOP blahing at me.' Was a mixture of Shock , Angry and Grin. Although I hid the smile. I then found myself coming over just like my mum. Cue the 'I will NOT be spoken to that...'

I really, genuinely worry about what I will have to put up with when she is 13 if this is the 'tude we are getting now.

DolceeBanana · 06/12/2010 22:22

Bloss...why's DS being so naughty?

My DD managed to literally trash her bedroom today (3 yo) after being sent to her room for scaling the kitchen units afetr being expressly fobidden to do so (!), to get some glue to stick things in the sitting room (normally done at kitchen table only!!!)....I found squidged glue on the sitting room ottoman, trailed across the kitchen table and she'd tried to wipe her gluey hands on one of my beautiful french linen teacloths which was all stuck together... All came off thankfully...but only because I'd checked it immediately.

This afternoon I was in the loo when she ran in crying because the baby had 'broken her bracelet'...I immediately envisaged (correctly, as it happens) the baby with a trillion tiny beads in her mouth...oh yes...there were so many all over and in the playroom that I had to get the hoover out and totally undress baby to retrieve many that had gone into her nappy etc....

O that note I shall go.........................

LetThemEatCake · 06/12/2010 22:24

no fleecy it will look good. It will look even better when it is relisted on ebay Grin

MrsJ why don't you give it a whirl via Uniqlo, like esher? that way you have the option to buy a few diff choices and return. Ebay too risky for something you're just 'trying out' - unless it's 99p.

LOL Robin Hood bloss. I am with zembo though. I don't need them. This is the prob with year-round avidity. Makes compiling Xmas & b'day lists very difficult. What else do I want/ need??? !!

DT, your DH sounds just like mine. You need to wear them with a complete ensemble before he can appreciate them. Black opaques and something shortish and sexy Grin.

LTEC you sound like you are enjoying reclaiming your house back. I love it when I'm at home on my own in the evening with the DC asleep upstairs. It doesn't happen often.

Carciofi I love the sound of your relocation plans. How lovely to grow up by the sea. I like the idea of sailing too - sounds like fun. I figured that you were married to an Irish man. Good luck with your cottage move.

Must go and read my book for book group - 'Sister'. Oh, that reminds me - I've won an MN prize. It's the William Boyd book 'Any Human Heart'.

AllBuggiedOut · 06/12/2010 22:30

Evening all

Sorry to have been so absent, but keep popping by to try and keep up! In particular wanted to say bloss I'm thinking of you. and vin Good Work. Keep it up.

What do you ladies have in your ears for everyday wear please? I am fussy about earrings; too lazy to take them out at night and don't like sleeping in studs. Which means that I wear small sleepers with a "something" dangling off them. Eg these poppy head ones I love. Also have these but on small hoops. But am trying to move away from silver and want to find something similarly wearable/casual in gold/bronze. Any ideas please?

Fleecy · 06/12/2010 22:36

Also mrsj I think if you just size up for oversized jumpers, the shoulders never hang right whereas if you go for one designed to be slouchy it looks better.

cake Grin There's one for sale at £70 Shock so I'm fairly optimistic about breaking even at the very least.

abo I don't wear earrings most days, just for evenings out.

Oh and meant to say Dolce skinnies and short skirts are good on Bambi legs. Swathes of fabric is a pita imo.

My boho, legacy of a deviant youth is not owning a clutch bag Grin

(and no earrings...)

notyummy · 06/12/2010 22:52

At the moment can do any weekend in March. Only one in January, and potentially only one in Feb, so March looking better for me.

LetThemEatCake · 06/12/2010 22:53

yeah, first weekend march is my wedding anniversary, sorry

marsha what a turnaround, you have gone from meet up shrinking violet to meet up whip-cracker!! how much champers Sat night lady?? Grin

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 22:53

NY I want as many of you glittering, lovely people there as possible. So March it is.

Just need to decide which weekend.

notyummy · 06/12/2010 22:54

See, I have an OCD thing about wearing a watch. If I don't wear it, I constantly stare at my wrist and then have to find something to show me the time instantly. Get almost physically uncomfortable without one.

It's all that being shreiked at in the military for being anything other than 5 minutes early..... Hmm

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 22:55

I have been dealing with a sleep nightmare baby from HELL all year ltec Grin

I walked out on Sat night and LEFT HIM with dh.

I am FREE

Two years nearly - pg and sleep deprivation.

I could weep with how much fun Saturday night was Grin

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 22:58

Plus I reckon if I can sparkle with the SW crowd, you lot won't diss me too much.

Even if you are a tough audience (never mention that woman again)

Grin
LetThemEatCake · 06/12/2010 22:58

that is so liberating Smile

awesome. Okay, so do we say mid-March then?? no duvet cots req'd by then surely!!

Hark I am not sure I fancy that. Courses are not me. Blush I am a bit of a lone ranger. Like, don't tell me what to do.

The one thing I have asked dh for for this birthday is a half marathon. Like, the time and space to run one, just me, without feeling that I need to hurry back. I want to get up, leave him to sort beds, dressing, breakfast etc, run the distance and come back to a sorted house and children. What greater gift?

OP posts:
Fleecy · 06/12/2010 22:58

No side pony - crimped hair. Just to make it all the more stylish!

I don't wear a watch either. Wedding and engagement ring. That's it for me unless I'm going out.

Saturday 12 March then?
