Bloss - thanks for the recipe - I will try that at the weekend.

DH very poorly so in the spare room in bed. Bea also still v poorly - I guess the saving grace is that at least it should all be out of the way by Christmas.

Have just ordered random bike stuff for DH for christmas - fork lube anyone Wink

Dolcee - is the auction today? Good luck!

LTEC - I'd also love to go to nobu - is it just you and DH and what are you going to wear?

MrsJ - saw some of your photos on FB and golly - you are so incredibly pretty and photogenic.

LTEC Grin Hope your dh is able to do what he needs to do, weather is shocking here. Tried to take dc to school as I coudn't stand the prospect of another week in, but had to turn back as the roads were so dangerous. Not a pleasant driving experience.

Can't decide whether to embrace being iced-in, and get the Christmas tree out! We have to have an artificial one as ds1 is allergic to Christmas trees. Poor boy always had asthma at Christmas as a toddler, took us a few years to work out that the tree was causing it. The tree we have is lovely though, and you can rearrange the braches for optimum decoration placement! It's a bit early, but we are all so bored.

Did someone get Ugg Kensingtons reduced with a code? I have ancient Uggs I only wear as slippers, but I went in and out to the car in them this morning and noticed the grip was much better than in the Hunters I have been wearing.

Roma that sounds tough, hope the week goes well for you.

NY and Bloss hope you get your deliveries soon.

Dolcee fingers crossed for the auction.

Tracey dh really into cycling too, some of the things he asks for his bike make the mind boggle. Hope all better soon in the Bath household.

OWW and Fritzi your Christmases sound lovely. Fritzi, maybe we'll do a joint venture importing the winter tyres! BIL is driving to Northern Ireland this week to get them, he lives in rural area so they will make a big difference. I might do the same myself, as this weather is to go on until February. Otherwise I will have to home-school the dc!

Sorry for those feeling under the weather, I swear by Vivioptal Active and Co Enzyme Q10, I really notice the difference if I forget to take them.

Dolcee saw a nice black faux fur jacket in Oasis, not on their site though, it was like this but black, slightly different collar I think. They might have it in store.

VerityBrulee · 06/12/2010 11:35

Here Dolce

Yangy I hate Uggs, but at this stage would wear anything that kept me warm and steady on my feet. Love the sound of your party outfit Smile

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 11:55

My head is still full of sparkles and magical stuff.

I am such a magpie!

Ok so, you all have new gorgeous dresses and I have a P&J one I want to wear again with new crowd Grin

So shall we do a one year party?

We can gush over each other's outfits and have a laugh.

I don't need food Grin just champagne and decent swish environment good lighting Wink.

We can be fabulous... Wotchoo think folks...

Any one fancy it?

bunnymother · 06/12/2010 11:56

Morning ladies!

Had another weigh in w MW for DD3 - correctly guessed as Lia! Little porker sweetie has gained 80gms since MW first saw her so feeling delighted. DD2 (Emme) also gaining well. Not loving force feeding them, but doing more and more breast feeding (hard when they don't want to eat every 3 hours and certainly don't want to eat as much as I am pouring down their throats). Still, onward and upward. Can't wait to get out from under MW supervision.

Oh dear, sounds like so many of you are snowed in! Esp thinking of you, notyummy - you are so energetic you must be bouncing off the walls. Sounds like everyone is doing a wonderful job entertaining their house-bound DCs. Poor DD1 (Delie) is sick so whined at DH all day yesterday, then screamed and cried most of last night. DH seems to have developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Marsha - well, since nothing is too pretentious for this thread... House overlooking Hyde Park? Mmmm, I would prefer overlooking Holland Park myself. Far more secluded and leafy. Grin Wink

Tracey - re an earlier question of yours - I take multi vitamins every day. I think of it like insurance. Am taking Pregnacare at the mo' but DH has Centrum performance (he is a zippy model Grin), which seem v good.

Roma - oh, not fun being away all week. Skype??

Bloss of the flashing dark blue eyes - take good care of yourself.

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 11:58

Grin bunny

VerityBrulee · 06/12/2010 12:06

Bunny great to hear the E and L are geining weight, you are doing great job. Poor D, hope she is better soon.

Marsha I love a bit of sparkle too Smile
Ok, that's it, off to do a tidy up and find a space for the tree.

notyummy · 06/12/2010 12:17

Had an interesting moment that proves something about vanity sizing! I rummaged around in the garage and emerged triumphant with 2 pairs of salopettes that I wore many years (i.e 10/11 years ago) when I used to ski a lot. Sadly, I haven't been skiing since 2003 because of various work/family things meaning I have been too busy, however when we go to Geneva this month, there is a chance I may fit in half a day. Both salopettes used to be rather snug on me. They are now both slightly loose!! Which is good news, obviously. They are a 12 however, and going on the way they fit, I don't think I would fit into the equivalent '10', when I can in most things these days. Vanity sizing at work...

Bunny - such good news about the weight gain. Well done. I am sure you must be both exhausted at the moment, but it sounds like you are doing so well.

Blossoming - Also sending the metaphorical salmon.

Yangy - Alas I fear you could right about the jeans! They have not arrived yet. Perhaps the Dukan for the next 2 days before I try them on..?! Actually, I am saving that for after Christmas...

Verity - Sorry to hear the snow is still too bad. We still have loads as well as it just hasnt warmed up enough to clear it...and I don't think it will for a while. The first mile of my journey this morning was treacherous, but it improved after that. Still took me much longer than usual though. Mothers help arrived at mine late, as she comes in from another village and had to brave -12 at 6am and then park her car and walk because she was afraid of not getting up the hill again if she drove down to my house!

Marsha - Yep the one year party sounds good! I always need an excuse to wear my 'flashier' dresses as there aren't many suitable occasions out here in the sticks....

GeorginaWorsley · 06/12/2010 12:19

DOLCE I have a vintage Wink faux fur that everyone loves!
Loads on ebay atm.
Am off out to lunch in
www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/warehouse/Dresses/Jessie-Dress/201076732
plus Autograph thermal black tee underneath, thick tights, boots and ancient shearling on top!

notyummy · 06/12/2010 12:21

Nice outfit GW.

Am Shock at the number of spelling errors in the latest email from the WIT lady.

I mean, I know I regularly make typos on here, but I am not doing this as part of my professional role IFYSWIM.

traceybath · 06/12/2010 12:30

Bunny - I've got some left over pregnancy vitamins but worried DH will have a heart attack if he sees me taking them Wink

Marsha - count me in for a 1 year party - how about end of January time? I know Roary has mentioned mid-week for next meet-up but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to do that but if its best for most people I can miss the next one.

Have just booked a holiday for next year - second week of July off to Kalkan in Turkey. Have booked a lovely villa with cleaners every day and babysitting if we need it and DH will get to have a day's mountain biking Grin

NY and Bloss - brrrr for you. My in-laws are in Lincoln and getting a bit bored of the snow.

Right H breaks up on Thursday so need to find some things to do next week with the dc's - think we may do a visit to Father Christmas . . . As well as make some decorations etc.

VB - thanks for supplements info. And Bunny - DH also likes the centrum ones - he's an athlete after all Hmm Wink

LetThemEatCake · 06/12/2010 12:40

Just to stick oar in, I can't do weekend of jan 29/30!

OP posts:
bunnymother · 06/12/2010 12:47

Tracey - oh yes, DH walks to work, so he is also an athlete. Ha ha, priceless image of your DH seeing you taking pregnancy vits. Grin

Verity - eh tu re being snowed in? Imagine its all nice and cosy and "romantic" for a day or two. Then it would slowly get to you. I think mainly if you have DCs. I have plenty to occupy me - books and DVDs, but having to entertain DCs indoors every day is the v definition of Hard Work.

Has anyone read a thread by the GentleOtter re being snowed in? She lives on a farm in the Scottish countryside (near Perth) and it sounds like serious isolation and would call on all your inner reserves. Too tough going for this SoftRabbit.

Oh and thank you all for lovely votes of confidence - am blessed to have babies that are far easier to look after than DD1 ever was. Yes, its 24/7 3 hourly feeds, but they are so relaxed and snuggly its fine. Screaming and feeding issues are what can make the newborn phase hideous IME.

LetThemEatCake · 06/12/2010 12:48

Also (sorry me again) wonder whether such an auspicious occasion might not be best suited to a night rather than lunch? The frocks, the fizz, the fabulousness... How do non London ladies feel about that? Get impression that also easier for many to leave slumbering babes than lively daytime ones!!

OP posts:
bunnymother · 06/12/2010 12:50

Oh, but before I go, OWW - your DH sounds to have made you such a beautiful gift in the form of the poem - wonderful. And of course cash is also a beautiful thing Smile

'Twas my birthday yesterday and DH said some v beautiful things to me that I felt v lucky to hear. My wonderful DH. And didn't hurt that he also came home bearing my favourite bento box and flowers.

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 12:51

Oh absolutely ltec! I cannot drink in the day.

But we need everyone there! Hope you can all come for a night one....

traceybath · 06/12/2010 12:52

Oh yes - night time good - think I may stretch to a hotel Smile

Bunny - so glad babies are doing well and that you're enjoying it so much.

LOL at our athlete DHs.

notyummy · 06/12/2010 12:58

Yes, to the nighttime.

Tottering slightly after too many bubbles is perfectly ok at midnight....looks slightly unseemly on a (nearly) 40 year old lady at 5pm Grin

I can't do that weekend either LTEC (or the one before it.)

MarshaBrady · 06/12/2010 13:05

I don't want to be jetlagged, takes a week for me to recover!

So should we do early Feb so for organisational ease?

hellsbelles · 06/12/2010 13:26

Oh Fritzi & OWW ? your plans sound magical

Roma ? hope it gets better

OWW ? I get Hedrin which drowns the blighters. Also (even though it says not to bother combing on the Hedrin instructions) I also use a nitty gritty comb.

LTEC ? nobu ? wow. I have only been once (a long while ago) but food was very good.

Marsha ? fab idea ? I can wear my sequins Grin

Bloss ? are you o.k? Everyone wishing you well but I can?t find a post to explain why

Tracey ? Kalkan is soooo pretty. I went there about 10 years ago with DH (budget version though)?and really enjoyed it.

I'm on biscuit batch number no. 3. Would it be wrong to sample one from each batch? Just to be sure they are o.k (probably about 5 batches in total!)
