So much snow here today. DD is thrilled but I am not as I don't have appropriate footwear. Need proper profiled and warm boots. Ugg Kensingtons are sold out in my size. In an ideal world I would get a pair of KG Waldorfs but sold out in my size and sooo expensive for a pair of boots.
Would those be worth the money do you think. They are lined with shearling. Or those maybe?

hellsbelles · 29/11/2010 15:39

thanks Vino - can you believe that it's just under £200! still maybe there is something else she needs!

Gosh it's cold! I've just been ordering thermals for me and DD, hopefully they'll arrive soon. DD also has the h&m owl dress and loves it so much that I bought her the blue squirrel version to. I'm having my usual winter footwear probs, I need so boots that are lined, waterproof, have decent grip and ideally leather. I'm not a fan of Uggs. Roma which timberlands do you have? DH is so sick of my moaning he's offered to buy me some boots so I just need to find some.

notyummy sounds like a wise decision not to go to work. I was asked to go to a meeting today but the combination of trying to sort out childcare and the tube strike gave me ample excuses. After you and Roma talking about how you make working from home work I've blocked some days out in my diary.

hells and dolce your duvet coats sound lovely, i've been wearing mine today.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 29/11/2010 16:11

fritzi very quickly tried on these today
warm, lined and waterproof

but have also seen these which look like they would do the jobwww.gaynors.co.uk/productdetail.asp?productcatalogue=010202420013

these are probably nearest the Kensingtons

Gah! The other Class Mum and I had arranged a coffee morning for Dec 17th. I am hosting it here at home. Got feedback from several Mums saying it was a bad date (last day at term, clearing up after school xmas party the night before etc ) so changed date to the Wednesday of that week. Got more emails saying that was a bad date and what a shame as they had kept the Friday free. So, I've said I will host 2 coffee mornings that week on the Weds and the Fri! I am such a people pleasing mug!

Still no snow but lots is on its way this evening! Turns out I have the whole of Wednesday to myself - DS2 at creche and DS1 has a party after school. Had planned a lovely day out to one of the nice cities close by but if there is snow or the risk of it......Hmm. It such a treat to have the day alone esp if there are shops involved!

Roman DH has ordered winter tyres for the first time ever cos of his daily commute to Amsterdam - but they will not be available for fitting til 13th December! Honestly, how this country functions sometimes is beyond me - having a bad Dutch day can you tell?!

Thanks for the link Vin - very nice! I am currently giggling thinking of the pained look on DHs face if he saw yet ANOTHER maxi being unwrapped Grin

He's not tight/controlling generally btw - and may have a point on the maxi overload...

Hello Wise Ladies! Am home resting on the couch w DH while Wonder Nanny takes DD1 Grin to gymboree and the babies sleep. Am blessed - DD2 and DD3 Grin are wonderful sleepers and just snooze the night and day away. I may never stop being grateful for this (complete opposite of DD1 who was fiesty from the second she was born) and also that they were born such great hefty sizes. Have had to force feed them formula within a few hours of birth, though, due to low blood sugar levels + DD3's high red blood cell count. But despite this, breastfeeding going well - miracles will never cease!! Thought this time would be like DD1's first week, only to the power of 2, but instead it's been lovely and calm. Didnt hurt that hospital had no room in shared labour ward rooms so had a private room, gratis. Shame food was diabolical. Right, will try and read thread!

Yeay Bunny - oh lordy how absolutely adorable are your 3 girls!

Glad things are going well and that you're having a rest.

OWW - you are way too nice - I'd have just huffed and not done either Grin

Fleecy · 29/11/2010 17:09

Child-free shopping here this morning as DH was being parent helper at DD's pre-school (bless that man!) and took DS with him.

Sadly the shopping was for Christmas presents and not for me but I have nearly finished getting everything now - and I had a lovely wander round Lakeland.

Also popped into H&M and picked up the owl dress for DD (how could I not? Smile ) plus a few other little bits and bobs for her and for DS.

Snow every few hours here. The main roads are clear but it's a bit of a bugger trying to get to them!

OWW you are good! Hope the weather doesn't get too bad so you can have your shopping day as planned.

Fleecy · 29/11/2010 17:10

Hello bunny

So glad to hear things are going well - long may it continue! You do make it sound so easy! Hope you're recovering nicely from the section.

MarshaBrady · 29/11/2010 17:28

Bunny!! Well done! So happy for you Smile.

Bet they are beautiful Smile. (no fb, boo)

PlumSykes · 29/11/2010 18:18

Yummy, these boots look quite good.

FritziGreenEyes · 29/11/2010 18:21

Hey bunny so happy for you and your three DDs. Hope you can get some rest and enjoy your two newborn treasures and DD1 too of course.

Thanks for boots suggestions vin and libra. No quick decision this time as there are too many options Smile.

ollie Two coffee mornings! You are too kind and accomodating to the other mums. They should count themselves lucky that you haven't cancelled. Have a lovely day tomorrow!

Everybody: Get winter tyres! I know it's money that could be better spend at NAP but I was sliding up the hill even with winter tyres. You even get fined over here if you attempt to drive with summer tyres when there is ice or snow.

hf128219 · 29/11/2010 18:23

Right I am not going to be around for a few days. Work has gone a bit manic.

But bunny I am thrilled!

PlumSykes · 29/11/2010 18:23

Fritzi, these Dubarry boots are exxy, but look like they would last forever.

PlumSykes · 29/11/2010 18:27

ABO, corgi socks are toasty, soft and vey vey nice colours. Everyone in Plum Heights has some.

blossoming · 29/11/2010 18:31

How lovely for you bunny. Dd was the same from the start, not like dc1! Hope you're resting and recovering. Can't wait to see photos (on here)!

FritziGreenEyes · 29/11/2010 19:01

plum Thanks for links. I'm tempted by Welsh cashmere socks!

AllBuggiedOut · 29/11/2010 19:37

They do look lovely plum, thanks. Do they do kids ones? Probably being dim but can't see them on the site...
