Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

OP posts:
notyummy · 28/11/2010 11:58

Loving that coat Choo.

Hope you feel better soon LTEC.

Tell us about your night Hells.

Hope everyone is surviving the cold! -5 here as I speak...and Shock - DH has put the heating on in the middle of the day without being badgered into it!!

Am mildly hungover following good night out last night. Twas chilly though! I had to rescue 2 ladies that were trying to walk down the steep part of Lincoln hill in high heels and skirts (no tights!) over the ice. They both fell on their bottoms and I stepped up! (Being sensible I was in flat boots, with high wedges tucked in cavernous hand bag...)

I was pleasnatly surprised about the effort made after my rather disparaging comments earlier about Fat Face a line tops and tunics... Blush. Birthday girl was in sequiny top and leggings, other friend in Republic ruffle dress. I was wearing this dress although not kidding myself I am as young and beautiful! Also, due to temp was wearing over black mini dress (Spanx!) with mega thick ribbed tights, boots and long black coat with fur collar.

mrsjuan · 28/11/2010 12:06

Hello - can't keep up at the moment but had to come on just to say thank you bloss - the bag and flannel came yesterday and are so cute & extremely well made - you're so clever. Perfect. DD will love it them.

MarshaBrady · 28/11/2010 12:11

What a stunning dress NY. Glad you weren't wearing the same shoes as the girl. Lethal in the ice!

Good job on the rescue.

notyummy · 28/11/2010 12:14

Oh - I know it was a while back but meant to say thanks MrsJ for your feedback on the coated TS skinnies. I think you are right ref height helping in skinnies (am 5 ft 10) - is a bit harder to carry them off when shorter unless quite 'elfen'. I am still a bit torn about whether I really suit them with my thighs, but they look Ok if I wear them with the right things.

carciofi · 28/11/2010 12:39

LTEC, hope you had a good night. How was your night, Hells?

Tracey, lovely cardigan. I have just ordered my Christmas present from DH, the Anya Hindmarch red bag I liked, as I got the £100 discount and 10% off from Harrods. He told me that's it now. :)

Lovely coats, Choo and Fritzi. Very efficient shopping, Fritzi.

Verity, yes, I loved the Late Late toy show! My niece has just phoned from Dublin, very excited about the snow.

DD wants to watch cartoons on Youtube, must go.

Stay warm!

carciofi · 28/11/2010 12:41

Zembo, good to hear from you, sorry you are feeling low.

carciofi · 28/11/2010 12:42

I mean, take care, that didn't come out right. Of course you are feeling down.

mamatomany · 28/11/2010 12:45

Did you all see the Harrods £100 off and 10% discount when you join their loyalty scheme code ?

hellsbelles · 28/11/2010 13:47

So ? I stumble in with a heavy head. Too much wine I?m afraid. Last night was fun and much less scary than I feared. I would have loved to have some of you there and did get questioned quite a bit on my A&W mates (in a good way!).

I bottled it at the last minute and decided my lace dress was a little too dressy ? and I think I was probably right. The replacement (a sort of tweed mini dress?sounds atrocious ? but looks better than the description suggests )? was still possibly slightly over the top?but o.k?and I wore it with Cake/Choo Edelmans and got some very kind compliments (and possibly a few people thinking that I was an overdressed madam Grin)

Can?t wait for the 12th?.

DT10 ? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Choo & Fritzi? divine coats Envy I want one of each please too!

WOW ? NY ? Bet you looked amazing?that dress is wonderful.

Zembo ? Sad at internally crushed. I know it?s not allowed on MN but sending you huge hugs

Tracey ? meant to say a big thank you for introducing me to the Vishlay cleanser ? it?s totally gorgeous and I actually look forward to using it. Love the cardi coat. I have an ancient one that I wear constantly. What?s the my-wardrobe code? Is it still working? If I still get the NAP sale preview thing again (though haven?t been as avid so may not)?shall we see if we can get those Belstaffs for you? Promise to remind me?

On my way to the meet up I sneaked into Blacks and found a huge Agie duvet coat...one that you recommended I think (but sold out online)...and nabbed it. Totally warm as toast.

Bonsoir ? sorry to hear there was no appropriate treat ? though lucky DD! And your stories about her do make me smile.

Esher- I know those kind of days! Hope you evening went well though!

Marsha ? yet again I have outfit envy (Friday post)

I?m attempting to persuade NAP to swap my wonderful (unworn, with tags) red donna dress?with the red Vin Paul & Joe. Much as I love the red Donna ? I realise it?s completely the wrong red for me (too orange ? bloss would probably hyperventalite if she saw me how wrong the shade is for a winter)?though surely perfect for it?s rightful owner Tracey.

Georgina ? Tracey is almost right ? I do have a very similar ?cheaper?splendid (make not description) dress like that (though they don?t seem to stock it anymore). And I love it. However I find it?s good as a summer one?not sure it works so well in winter? Perhaps the jersey on your one is heavier than the dress I have?so works better

MM ? very cross about the stupid reaction you got re the dressing up for DD. How pathetic. How did it work out in the end?

I am however sticking my fingers in my ears at your musings on sequins being ?two or three years ago? ? my Christmas party outfit is sequin tastic Grin

Vin ? gutted to hear about the moths attacking your jumper. I found a few tiny holes in a much loved dress too and was so sad. I hope you find the damage to other items is less than expected.

OWW ? evening out sounds lovely?despite the fashion disasters around!!

HF ? love the scarf.

ltec - looking forward to hearing full story of your evening...and wish you a speedy hangover recovery. I'm finding nurofen very helpful right now Wink

carciofi · 28/11/2010 14:36

Hells - sounds like a fun evening - so what questions were you being asked?

There's a code for Vaishaly - EGIFT2010 - buy one get one free!

Will look for the my-wardrobe code too.

Just back from child's party - very nice and low key.

MarshaBrady · 28/11/2010 15:36

Well done Hells! Bet you looked fabulous Smile.

FritziGreenEyes · 28/11/2010 15:51

tracey Thanks for Vaishaly code! Had cleanser you recommended on my Christmas wishlist and just ordered my present for Christmas. I'm in Ms-Efficiency-get-everything-done-mode Grin. Took even less time than buying the coat yesterday.

FritziGreenEyes · 28/11/2010 15:55

BTW Is anyone interested in a bottle of essence by narcisso rodriguez? DH got me a bottle but I only sprayed it once and it gave me a headache straight away. Let me know and I post it tomorrow.

LetThemEatCake · 28/11/2010 16:22

hello ladies

Vin and Fritzi I will be getting into the shredding again shortly too (as soon as mum moves out, she cramps my style!!) as I'm not getting enough chance to run atm.

However, despite my gripes about the Dukan plateau, I think it was just to do with having had my period, as I've now shot down again. So will grit my teeth and keep at it a while longer. Not too much longer though as I have noticed my face is looking a little, um, drawn. And dd commented on it the other night Blush. From the mouths of babes. So I think I have to accept a weight that is about 7lb more than my butt would like and about 7lb less than my face would like.

Glad you had a good night NY dress would have looked fab but OMG, no tights!!! what is up with that. Madness. Well done you on combining style and sense!!!

Zembo I don't know what to say except hang in there. You are brave and beautiful and will heal. Give yourself time and patience.

nice work on the cardicoat tracey. I am a bit Hmm about my IO cable cosy (last year) now as it is too big and flappy now that I am not bfing. No buttons!! You know me, built for speed and efficiency. No flapping!!

Hmm, Harrods (thanks mama!) Seem to have the 10% disc sorted but not the £100 - how? why?

hells glad you had a great night and bet you looked amazing.

vin you must ring NAP immediately!! that's crap service, you should get what you pay for.

okay, so last night was fine although I am slightly annoyed that I sent the red oasis origami dress back as I was slightly lost in a sea of LBDs. Some nice, some less so. Lots of smart black trousers and tops. Really nothing amazing but not as blah as I thought so am with you on the slight Blush NY. Although - Lentilmummy in white yoga pants, a tee and trainers really giving it some on the dance floor Grin Auction of Promises went well and my pledge and dh's pledge both sold for good money, which was pleasing. We bought a weekend away at a beautiful cottage in Devon. DH bid on a designer dress for me but I stopped him when I felt it was going too high. . It was nice to see him brandishing his paddle though as we had had massive row before going out Grin.

One hilarious thing was this mad woman who does nothing but tout her beauty products (think it is some kind of pyramid selling thing??) and really winds us all up with her pushiness - I mean, you can be juggling 3 screaming kids and she'll brandishing a moisturiser at you - anyway, good dress sense, non, pas de tout. But her pledge was a wardrobe detox/ Gokky experience - with her!! and there she was, resplendent in gold lame and a black foofy skirt that ended right at the widest part of her calf. Grin. One of the mums (PR for big label that we all love on this thread) and I were in fits, 2 of my friends were gesturing at me and mouthing "we're going to bid on that one for you as your birthday present!". . It went for 30 quid. Wink

mamatomany · 28/11/2010 16:59

Ah right forgot to mention you have to spend £250 to receive £100 off, easily done i would imagine.

blossoming · 28/11/2010 17:46

Hi everyone!
Gosh it's been cold here today. Ds was crying on the way home from Sunday School he was so cold. I had my toasty snow boots, so was a bit better. But then it all came good as we went next door for one of my mum's gorgeous lamb roasts and we had wine and a roaring fire. Everyone happy. I wonder what it'll do this week? Ds's wellies are no match for this cold, apparently it was -10C this morning before the fog lifted.

Thank you mrsjuan. I'm glad you liked them!

vino, you are very kind to offer, but (said in my sternest teacher voice), I want you to start ebaying your stuff and saving the money so that you have an 'escape fund'. Please.

Thanks to carciofi's code for Pure, I have ordered two merino roll necks. I like merino normally, I find it doesn't bobble too much. Good work on the Anya Hindmarch bag carciofi, and what a great offer mama.

I'm glad ltec, hells and notyummy had good nights out and flew the a&w style flag. Yeah for hangovers (said because I don't have one obviously!)

Hi to everyone else, oh and hells, ORANGE!!!
Looking forward to comparing shredding notes with all the newbies soon.

LTEC, I didn't realise it was a lbd kind of do, I thought it was just a casual get together . Remember what your DH said about the red Oasis dress being prom-like and you will stop yearning after it. Is there a reason why didn't you go for the grey lace Oasis one?

I also have the 30 day shred DVD (have had it for uuummm, 2 months now). The 1st Dec sounds like a great date to start.

Slighly Envy at all the hangovers, it's been such a long time since I've had one of those.

I don't know what it's like where you are but the crazy Christmas mad rush is now on in our local town - parking is a nightmare. DD and I spent ages in Accessorize today trying on feather headbands and clips , she fell in love with this. We couldn't find what we wanted though, a pretty top to go with her short grey netty skirt and grey lace tights.

FritziGreenEyes · 28/11/2010 18:11

blossoming I got boots for DD. She wears them every day to kindergarten where they spend at least 1.5 hours outside in all kinds of weather.

LetThemEatCake · 28/11/2010 18:11

OOOH lovely Harrods code!! lovely Halston Heritage dress!! happy LTEC!!

FritziGreenEyes · 28/11/2010 18:12

Sorry, try again here.

pickledsiblings · 28/11/2010 18:13

Great new on the dress vin and I'm sure it will look ace with opaques. Some of them are like spanx for legs (maybe that's just me, due to my overall fatness of leg Grin).

OWW I won't say another word about Glee, your secret's safe with me Wink. DD has the CD and it's so funny listening to her singing things like 'Sweet Caroline'.

traceybath · 28/11/2010 18:18

Lordy - we've got Alvin and the Chipmunks on - its hilarious apparently Hmm

LTEC - I have got to lose weight before I see you again - I'm turning into a weeble and you're becoming even more super-model like. Of course would help if I put down the chocolate cookie I just made Wink

Mum at party had these uggs on and got them from bicester for £60 - may get some next time I'm there for indoor use.

Zembo - keep thinking about you and sending you lots of hugs.

Pickled - cute headband - how old is your DD?

Bloss - oh I'd love someone else to cook me a roast lunch - I made fish-pie.
