Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

hellsbelles - I completely agree with you about WIT's silver dress. Vile!

bunnymother - my DD is Flora (I'm Anna!). I don't feel blonde and elegant today, just hot, sweaty and dusty from clearing out rubbish heirlooms. But you have given me an idea - I must collect together all our inherited miscellany that it would hurt to dispose of in a single place, and store it as such.

Since I spent the whole day cupboard sorting I didn't have time to go shopping for food and decided to make soup from the various sad vegetables lingering in the bottom of the fridge. Fortunately that was a lot more productive than the wardrobe sorting (where all I seem to have achieved is a spring-cleaned loo!).

GeorginaWorsley · 22/11/2010 18:54

ltec how about The White Company for slouchy cashmere?

tracey I love the red dress.
Vey Janice like!!

mrsjuan · 22/11/2010 19:20

Like those Warehouse dresses cake - it seems Warehouse is taking over from Phase 8 as the w&a high street shop of choice!

Gorgeous boots 40denier

Tempted to try those Topshop coated skinnies as the Gap ones weren't that flattering on me. Could I wear them with my boots? or would that be too cowboy?

Bunny Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh! I am so excited for you! I think your names are beautiful. My MIL didn't like DD's name (still doesn't apparently) thats partly why I chose it.

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 19:27

Haven't seen Grazia yet Cakey but will get it first thing tomorrow!

Reine you may have the same name as my stellar dd.

I love the red Oasis dress and shall order now. If you find a top Cakey let me know. I want one too.

Tracey not those leggings. They're actually listed as faux leather trousers. There are two pairs. Will link when near a computer.

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 19:31

Cakey if I looked like you Envy I'd go with one of the Warehouse ones. You'll make them look a million dollars.

traceybath · 22/11/2010 19:39

MM - am guessing leather trousers&pageSize=20 these ones - melikey very much Grin

What are you planning on wearing with them? And what do you do shoewise?

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 19:47

Yes Tracey them's the babies! Grin I've only tried them on but plan to wear with black/gold studded shoeboots or black M&S shoeboots. On top I've tried a black silk shirt which looks ok though I'm a big fan of all black for evening. I tried a while silk relaxed grandad shirt which I liked. I'm going to try and find something leopard that goes with them in my wardrobe. I have a silk tunic that's just a tiny bit short as a dress (for others not me - I love a short dress but people disapprove!) which might work. I'm planning on debuting them on Friday when I go out with dp - leather trews, shoeboots, sequin black tunic and faux fur. Grin

traceybath · 22/11/2010 19:50

Ooooh MM thats my kind of outfit Grin

Well I may just order them as DH and I are out for dinner or Harry Potter on Saturday night - they'd brighten up the evening anyway.

roary · 22/11/2010 19:51

Zembo hope you are resting comfortably and everyone is looking after you at home, and it went OK at work.

Lots of ROFL at the thread since SUnday. Especially like breastfielding and MrsJ naming her child to spite her MIL!

Bunny love the names - do you think you will nickname them from the beginning or are those just back ups just in case? Our DD is still full name (quite long)

NOW, MONKEYS MONKEYS and all: I have found the perfect warm, dry winter coat. I got this one in chocolate. It was ordered on Thurs and arrived Saturday, for $14 US shipping. It is fitted, and indeed slimming, stylish (got complimented on it by a lady on the bus) and it is soooooo warm that I was almost too hot in it today despite not wearing much underneath. As the insulated part detaches it will be perfect in weather warmer than this and also in MUCH colder weather - I reckon good to -10 and I'm Canadian, ladies. I know cold. Anyway tis so fab I am thinking of starting its own thread.

mrsjuan · 22/11/2010 20:07

I really, really like that coat Roary. Definitely deserves its own thread.

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 20:08

Tracey - keep meaning to tell you how happy I am that your DD has the silver Hebes, too, and am delighted at the playground response!! We always get comments on them, too - they are the best little girls' shoes I have seen. Which may explain why DD has 4 pairs, all in consecutive sizes (not THAT avid!). Unfort she is wearing her black Gap suede biker boots almost exclusively due to the cold (plus Wonder Nanny prefers them), but I love them! Enjoy!

Roary - think we will nickname them from the start, which we did w DD.

NY - natural + CS?! Poor lady!! Am pleased to know how things will be on Wednesday - wouldn't enjoy the natural, then CS option. Sounds like a nightmare and not v calm at all.

Bonsoir - I know you are Anna, I was just saying that your DD is a little version of how I imagine you - blonde and elegant. Although possibly not v well worded!

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 20:19

Oh blimey, I feel over indulgence of all sorts coming on while dh away. Am hungry. Have cravings (only for hummus, oatcakes and avocado, nothing mega sinister) and now want to purchase red dress, faux leather leggings, lurex jumper, cashmere sweater, shearling boots.

I mean forgive me but I quite fancied myself in the topshop changeroom in my disco threads. Like, I'd have asked me to dance Wink

Gw is it bad to say I don't like White co??

GeorginaWorsley · 22/11/2010 20:28

Not at all,LTEC Grin.
I thought that you had a poncho/cosy type thing from them though,or perhaps that was tracey.

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 20:34

I had a yen for their cardicoat last winter ( new baby!) but sent it back and got the Isabella Oliver cable cosy instead.. But yes Tracey and few of the others have the popcorn poncho I think?

mm just saw what you said re red dresses Blush thank you. Btw, don't be horrified re idea of Next ad as I know we don't tend to love next but the ad is leather and silk and fur. Is good Grin

traceybath · 22/11/2010 20:37

Tis me indeed with popcorn poncho and zembo I think too . . . Have worn it lots but and this is me being bitchy - saw a mum at school wearing it who is always rather grumpy and a tad ummmm frumpy and it put me off it rather Blush

traceybath · 22/11/2010 20:38

Oi LTEC - you dancing cos I'm asking Wink

hf128219 · 22/11/2010 20:39

Zembo Hope you are resting up and having a little peace.

LTEC I just LOL at your comment re asking yourself to dance!! Grin

I like the WC for dd's PJ's but the only thing I own from there is a white cardigan I wore in the summer.

Bonsoir My mother is Flora - fab name.

Bunny I cannot believe it is so near. I thought of you when I looked at the Birth announcements in the Saturday telegraph and saw there were twins born on different days! 2 parties? 2 outfits? Smile 2 cakes? The list could go on!

I am really having difficulty keeping up with this so if I have missed anything significant I apologise.

But that DVF silver foil dress is horrific. But I did like a gold sequin Milly dress with a black sash in the You magazine. Can't find link.

GeorginaWorsley · 22/11/2010 20:52

I thought it was you,tracey

Grin at mum at school!
I once sawa picture of Yvette Cooper wearing some shoes identical to mine, that put me off too...Smile

Zembo · 22/11/2010 20:53

Hf I'm just about to go to bed so yes will be resting soon Smile

MM I really like the oasis red dress too. It's got more shape to it than the Gap one I bought recently. Gap one was bought mainly for maternity reasons but have worn it and been complimented on it already.

Yes me with the White Co ponch too - I've worn it loads (incl today to hosp) so got my moneys worth. I like white co for PJs for DCs too but generally I'm not a huge fan, colours not great on me and I've found the quality to be a bit lacking.

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 20:55

zembo? sorry it was confirmed but thank goodness you don?t have to have any intervention. Please do remember though that your hormones are flying all over the place and you still need to be kind to yourself.

MM ? I?m thinking the gap coated are o.k for daytime

Bunny ? DS was early so tiny (5 and half lbs). I have saved a hat he wore that is so tiny I can?t quite believe it now. As I?m quite big I was expecting huge babies (DB was 10lbs and my mother is tiny!)?so it was actually rather magical to have a tiny tiny baby. So delicate (he grew into a tall gorgeous boy)...and you get used to it very quickly (and then they grow!)

LTEC ? I shall wait in anticipation for answers to your red quandary as I have red that I just can?t quite work out how to wear.

My rats are still pristine with tags! I must wear them soon.

Love the warehouse links! YOu will look divine.

Where do I find these knee high invisible thingys you are all on about?

OWW ? thanks so much for the deadly 60 link ? I will be booking tickets asap as DS is a fan.

Tracey ? Grin at DDs star turn!

40D ? oh la la! I?m too old for over the knee but very Envy of those that can wear them with aplomb.

Roary ? hurrah for warm and slimming coat! I can?t justify another one but that does look good!

So ladies ? as I am think I am the ONLY A&W representative going to the MN party (oh please please reveal yourself if you are also going)?I need your styling help. LTEC has already suggested the vintage lace dress I have. Those of you on FB know what it?s like?basically cap sleeve lace mini dress?a-line shape with a black slip underneath. Do you think it is too goth to wear with black opaques and Edelman shoeboots? I just can?t work out what else (also I have to think of the cold! I can?t do bare legs).

eshermummy · 22/11/2010 20:57

Zembo - so sorry you had your news confirmed today. Hope you are taking it easy right now.

God, I really want some GAP/Topshop coated skinnies AND some of those MM pleather trousers but LTEC's wise words are ringing in my ears so am thinking I shouldn't really (LTEC pointed out that already having rats/skinnies etc,one doesn't really need anymore trews of that ilk). And yet, and yet.......found some American Apparel python/leather effect leggings in wardrobe at the weekend and wore them with this topshop jumper and was LOVING the combo. It's not cashmere but I think it could work with rats too LTEC

Otherwise I really like this jumper and was going to link to it for GW last week who was looking for a cheaper version of a sweater on NAP (can't remember designer)

Also I think if you really really want cashmere then Madelaine Thompson on My Wardrobe may be a good place to start looking.

Roma - these booties are very nice as a substitute for the Edelmans. Have tried in rl but they were too high for me (am crap these days at heels) so I got these instead which I plan to wear with rats/black skinny pleathers etc.

Bunny - not long to go now! I am so excited for you!

eshermummy · 22/11/2010 21:03

Hells - I haven't seen you on FB but the lace dress sounds perfect and I think black opaques and Edelmans sounds perfect. I have similar black boottees now and I love them with black opaques, just the right side of gothic victoriana for me Smile

Off to look at WIT.........

roary · 22/11/2010 21:07

HELP London ladies: DH and I off to dinner in Sloane Sq and want to get back at a reasonable-ish hour to Oxford. If we do this on the train the rubbish train times mean if we leave dinner at 10 we MIGHT get a 10:21 train at Paddington but likely not till the 10:48 which means we don't get in till 12:30 and our nanny will have to spend the night.

So, here's the question. Would driving in work? I'd be driving in to Sloane Sq trying to get there for 7pm. 3 issues concern me: 1. am scared of driving in London but I suppose I would cope 2. will rush hour traffic be totally nuts? 3. the invitation says "park on surrounding streets". Is this remotely likely?

Having typed that up I think it's a bad plan. But we might get back earlier....

roary · 22/11/2010 21:07

What is the MN party? How does one get invited?

mrsjuan · 22/11/2010 21:08

psst... Bunny I'm sure you have lots of beautiful clothes for DDs already but if, like us, you are taken by surprise by exactly how small tiny babies are, Asda have some very cheap, very reasonable quality tiny baby clothes. I am forever indebted to my Dad for rushing out and buying nearly the whole range!
