Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

I'd wear those boots with woolly tights and a thick short skirt or winter shorts. Not with jeans (which I like wearing over ankle boots).

Bonsoir · 19/11/2010 12:03

I love sheepskin lined boots but think they would look even lovelier in brown suede. Do you definitely want black boots?

40deniertights · 19/11/2010 12:04

Have brown ones. Really need black.

40deniertights · 19/11/2010 12:05

They also come in burgundy, which quite appeals.

Bonsoir · 19/11/2010 12:08

Burgundy Hmm. It would depend on your wardrobe - not a colour that could feature in mine.

I don't have any black boots at the moment and I don't miss them, tbh. I do have some dark green ones, though, which I like very much.

hellsbelles · 19/11/2010 12:10

40 - agree that option 2 much nicer.

Red - hope DS recovers quickly

NY - have fun!

Bloss - well done. I am going to be the meet up fatty I think - you are all so tiny. Urghh. I feel a spanx order coming on Grin

Pickled - I love the cape - may I copy for DD?

40deniertights · 19/11/2010 12:10

Thanks. Think will go out and look and try some stuff on.

pickledsiblings · 19/11/2010 12:16

Please do hells. Then you can join me in the search for wrist-warmers.

hellsbelles · 19/11/2010 12:20

I tried Pickled - alas they don't make them in diddy sizes. DD would need 2-3 Sad

One more link from me - saw this on a model in the NL concession and liked:
peter pan blouse

carciofi · 19/11/2010 12:35

Zembo, I am so sorry. Thinking of you.

Well done, SkinnyBloss, that is a very impressive weight loss!

40denier, I also prefer the second pair.

Like the M&S boots, Roma.

Have a good weekend, NY.

DH took the day off so I had a lie in and went for a facial. And the dishwasher is fixed. I am wearing my new stripey top and it is sunny here. It's the little things!

carciofi · 19/11/2010 12:38

OWW, my friend has that grey cardigan, it is nice on.

FritziGreenEyes · 19/11/2010 12:41

bloss Well done on weight loss! Had to convert into metric as I almost couldn't believe how much you've lost Smile

Count me in for Janice flash mob in Par-ee for vin!

traceybath · 19/11/2010 12:45

Oh Zembo - I was so hoping it was just a minor bleed - lots of hugs to you and your DH.

Have spent the morning hanging around whilst car serviced - did the delights of Chipping Sodbury for 2 hours and that was pushing it I can tell you! Then waited in garage for over an hour and then had a bill of nearly £500!!

And hadn't eaten breakfast so fell of the dukan wagon by having an apple and a piece of dry soda bread.

So am just going to try and go back to eating less generally - that seems to work for me and I just find dukan too restrictive as lack the self-discipline of you ladies.

Romanarama · 19/11/2010 12:59

Heavens! Anything that considers an apple and a piece of dry bread a concession is surely too hair shirty unless you're in a strict religious order or summat???

FritziGreenEyes · 19/11/2010 13:02

notyummy Have fun this weekend. Your outfits sound great!

ollie Love the Warehouse embellished one-shoulder dress. Wouldn't know when to wear it though. Probably not appropriate for work or lounging around at home Grin.

All that talk of Leadenhall and Canary Wharf makes a bit homesick for London. I also loved to browse in Jo Malone in London Exchange. Sigh...

40denier Prefer the lace up boots from Debenhams.

carciofi Sounds like a good start into the weekend! I'm desperate for a facial/pedicure. Maybe next week when my MIL is here to look after DD in the afternoons.

hellsbelles · 19/11/2010 13:04

Tracey - I really think if you stick with it a day or two more you will find it much much easier. This minor blip no problem and the hair shirty bit is so short lived.

Surely you must all know what a glutton I am by now? Not only a piggy Taurus but also a hog/boar in the chinese calender (not that I believe in any of that you understand!!).

Really I love food so much that dieting isn't in my nature - but I did manage to stick this out and the end results were worth it (tries to forget that you will all see slightly rubenesque me in a few weeks!)

hellsbelles · 19/11/2010 13:05

OWW - I forgot to post that I tried the embellished cuff dress. Was ok on me but not wow. Again it may have been that it didn't suit my shape.

MarshaBrady · 19/11/2010 13:07

Roma it's only for a few days. It is a bit weird then really it's just a low carb diet. Eggs not special k, tuna salad not sandwich, and salad and fish for dinner not loads of mash. With a bit of fruit and lentils or whatever every now and again. Honestly we are not all doing that for ages on end. (and it allows quite a lot of room for other stuff not included)

Having said that, Tracey you are tiny anyway, I wasn't.

Bonsoir did you have your lovely dinner party (or is it this weekend, can't remember) (sorry to hear about your mcs too)

OllieWollieWoo · 19/11/2010 13:12

Funny isn't it Hells - I would have thought it would have really suited you as you are lovely and tall.

Fritzi - I used to live next to Tower Bridge (Butlers Wharf area) and every time they show a shot of the bridge on Dutch TV I feel a pang of homesickness!! Used to love popping to Canary Wharf for a quick trip round the shops (used to tell DH I was going to Waitrose and arrive home 2 hours later!)

hellsbelles · 19/11/2010 13:22

OWW - I think it was the neckline on me...also the cuff was a tiny bit too sparkly (how do I dare say that as the owner of a full sequin dress?)

blossoming · 19/11/2010 13:52

hells (puts on stern voice). Stop putting yourself down! I'm not on fb so haven't seen your photos but all everyone else does is rave at how gorgeous you are!
While I'm at it roman, I looked at your profile, said Gwyneth Paltrow and you said, big nose!! Let it stop!!!

Sounds like a great morning carciofi. I'm not one for facials since an unfortunate incident with too much oil, growing out hair, years back!

Zembo · 19/11/2010 14:27

Hi ladies, thanks again for all your kindness and support. The GP wasn't particularly sympathetic, I guess because the diagnosis isn't confirmed (so fair enough I suppose). I'm having a scan on Monday morning. I'm feeling intense loss feelings as if someone has died. DH being really good. My main worry now is what to tell them at work. I feel I need at least Monday off sick (the trip to the hosp etc will take a few hours anyway)and then depending on the news I probably won't want to be at work. Thinking I should probably tell my line manager what's happening - what do you think wise ladies?

hf128219 · 19/11/2010 14:31

Zembo Oh you poor girl. I would definitely tell my manager. Any manager worth their salt would keep everything confidential - if that is what you wish.

Go easy on yourself.
