Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

I worked from home for a while and managing the paper was one of the many reasons I hated it!

Seriously though, move to Paris - it would get you away from your P situation and you could start life afresh with lots of advice on where to live and schools and general how-to-live from all the MNers who are here and have tried it all before you. And Paris is fab for single mothers - great tax breaks, priority for childcare etc!

Well your DS would have to join other MN babes at EAB to ensure he grows up bilingual and properly globalized Grin and so you could get a nice two bed apartment right by Parc Monceau so that you have zero school run - and there are lots of nurseries in the vicinity in the mean time.

Your French will make great headway if you live here - it has to, so it does!

There are people that do that commute, though you might need quite a lot of live-in childcare to make that happen... Seriously, though, it would keep you P at bay and you would be able to clear your head and get a new perspective on life.

Moving to Paris sounds wonderful, Vino! Good plan, Bonsoir.

Reine, are you American? We lived there for a while. I used to love Thanksgiving.

I lead a very boring life and have no problem with the cleaning lady looking through my stuff, as long as I don't have to clean the oven. :)

Congrats on the reduced hours, Roma.

Lovely bag, Verity, I admired it in Vogue.

Bought this stripey top, it's very nice on.

blossoming · 18/11/2010 19:08

And we would have someone to come visit vino! Positive vote from me!

carciofi Top looks great!

vin Bonsoir's suggestion sounds very sensible and tempting: Yes to move to Paris! Would definitely try to come to meetup. In the meantime let me come for a week and I'll sort your paperwork. Just did the same in my boss's office. Will do the finishing touches before she comes back end of next week: putting lovely lilac labels on all the folders and arranging them alphabetically. That sounds a bit pathetic Blush. At home our paperwork is not as asthetically organised but DH gets in the way Grin.

mrsjuan · 18/11/2010 19:22

Yes vin - I think you should move to Paris too - that's 4 votes so far Grin.

Nice top carciofi

I like all the warehouse grey leopard stuff too - have asked for the scarf as part of my Christmas present from my parents. Have no idea what else to ask for - am more than happy with books and decent bath stuff but my mum thinks that's boring.

carciofi · 18/11/2010 19:23

Vino, I like them, I have them in another colour. Yep, probably 26/27.

mrsjuan · 18/11/2010 19:23

oops, 5 votes - x posted with fritzi.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/11/2010 19:29

Forgot to say: Agree about WIT. She generally looks fab but this week?! Maybe she is like me and hasn't done her laundry. Although I assume that she has a clothes closet at her disposal at work. Like her watch though. Anyone seen something similar?

redllamayellowllama · 18/11/2010 19:30

Just a quick one - popped into Canary Wharf today as DS was having his first day at nursery (sob) and was making the most of my time with DD...

A few bits caught my eye and made me think of this thread

LTEC they had some lovely stripy bretons in Topshop of all places - heavyweight material and surprisingly good quality for £20. Came in a nice range of colourways.

vino - if you're still looking for winter coats for your DS, the big Gap near Waitrose has now got a baby/kids section hidden around the corner, panicked briefly when I saw Tiffanys as eager to make the most of the new 30% off voucher.

Warehouse had a 20% off one day only thing so I got this dress, which I love. The picture does it very little justice. The Swallow print blouse is gorgeous in RL, but I fear has no place in my current life. Shame.

Vin - another vote for Paris!

redllama - Like that dress!

Well, I REALLY hope that no one was walking past our house just now. DD was tearing around the house naked with a sock dangling between her legs shouting 'Look at my big chunky willy!' I am not sure where that came from......

FritziGreenEyes · 18/11/2010 19:47

notyummy That made me almost splutter my wine over the keyboard Grin. DD is also very much into running around naked in the evenings before she goes to bed. No accessories though.

carciofi · 18/11/2010 19:49

Notyummy, hilarious!

I really can't keep up with this!!

Vin I'll escort you to the Eurostar and carry your bags - that's a YES from me! Smile

I have piles of paperwork too but am pretty ruthless - have an incinerator and a shredder.

Also have a file for pending, catalogues, action, no action etc etc. OCD, moi? Grin

MarshaBrady · 18/11/2010 20:00

Vin a yes from me. The Parisians would love you!
