Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

Well done Blossoming.

Umm, nothing exciting to say at all - other than I have just ruined my aforementioned ensemble but dripping balsamic vinegar from my salad all the way down it. And that's not exciting is it?

loobylu3 · 16/11/2010 13:47

Quick message for ABO- have you tried Zara home: www.zarahome.com and heals www.heals.co.uk?
They both have a selection of throws that might work...
John Lewis might be worth a try too if you haven't already.

Was also thinking that if the checks on your parent's sofa are subtle and widely spaced, then a checked blanket in the same colourway/ tone could work fine. Good luck!

hellsbelles · 16/11/2010 13:48

phew! Thanks Bloss. I thought I'd lost you all.

ABO and Esher hope the poorly DC's mend quickly - and Bunny - having always given birth early I got away lightly....but I'm sending you soothing vibes!

As for calpol? Despite being bought up by a very hippy homeopathic 'tastic' mother (for instance she read that dental painkillers are bad for you so I had fillings with no pain relief)..I have become a calpol convert. Primarily because, like Esher, we found it was the only thing that relieved DS's horrible pain during non-stop ear infections.

LTEC - wow! You clever thing. It's such a good diet isn't it? It seems to suck fat from places no other diet reaches. Having said that I have been more than a little naughty recently and if you saw me now you would NOT be impressed. But once I've lost those extra pounds I have made a conscious decision not to lose much more as I am cursed with a long horse face and weight loss makes me haggard. A size 10 seems about right for me - any lower and I look old.

Roman your work outfit sounds divine. I second the star wars lego. DS has been obsessed for ages. Be prepared to have to help a lot! Many a boxing day here is spent scratching our heads trying to figure out his more complex lego kits.

Fritzi - oh that coat. I could do with a sherling - I am very jealous.

Welcome NFC

NY your DH's comment made me LOL - oh the pressure...but how lovely at the same time. I love the Marlene Birger but with my large cheset can never ever go braless so would have to avoid.

Zembo/Tracey you and your size 00 - you must be teeny tiny! I don't think I could ever ever fit into them. I have order a pair in 4 though (as they were out of 6)!

DolceeBanana · 16/11/2010 13:55

Well done again Bloss...

Notyummy...outfit sounds fab - shame about the balsamic though....now, I am Shock that you have christmas sorted already...no, actually I'm not. Amazing.

Just been perusing the Brora brochure...very festive! Liking almost all of it...particularly the little girls fair-isle cardi (but way too £££, so have bought JoJo one for dd1), and velvet skirt...

What is everyone doing for Christmas Day then, and what, more importantly, will you be wearing?

We are having quiet one at home, where we shall open stockings in our bed with our three dcs...so White company pj's first thing and cashmere bedsocks then (!), followed by breakfast- usually smoked salmon and scrmbled eggs with bucks fizz of course...then church where I shall wear the Boden tea dress and suede heels and velvet coat (oh, and Brora-esque fair-isle beret if cold), then turkey lunch, then long walk, then back to open tree presents....phew.....afternoon games in front of fire....and then on the evening dh and I open presents in front of the fire where we quaff enjoy a glass of champagne.....

Sorry...got a bit carried away there...Blush

DolceeBanana · 16/11/2010 14:04

Have you worn your coated skinnies yet then Tracey? How did/are you going to style them?

Any houses on the horizon? Or do you find its gone a bit quiet?

AllBuggiedOut · 16/11/2010 14:05

Thanks looby.

DS3 perkier this afternoon, keeping everything crossed that it lasts! So annoying that it means the other DSs can't go to their swimming lesson which is the best part of £20 down the drain Sad.

Haven't got very far with the christmas shopping I intended to do, but did find a free delivery code for My-Wardrobe so am going to the try the frock I suspect will go straight back Confused

No idea what to wear christmas day yet, although the J Crew cardie may well be involved.

Bonsoir · 16/11/2010 14:07

Blossoming - what is this thread about - what the posters on it are going to wear to all the glamorous parties they are going to attend over the next couple of months, or what the posters on it are going to give other people to wear for Christmas presents?

hellsbelles · 16/11/2010 14:07

NY - that's not exciting but exactly the kind of thing I do too! YOu poor thing.

Oh Dolcee - you've made me come over all christmassy! I suspect my new red anglomania dress will be making a debut. Similar sort of morning bit to you (no church though we do that on christmas eve) and then round to my mother's for a big christmas lunch. I'm thrilled that it's her turn. Much as I love my mother in law she is a shocking cook. And my own DM is rather wonderful. Plus my gorgeous brothers, SIL, niece & nephew will be there. There is something so amazing about spending christmas with your own family that have the same warped humour and traditions as you isn't there?

PlumSykes · 16/11/2010 14:09

Am very relieved. HV has just been and gone for DS's 18 mth check. Same woman who told me this time last yr she thought she has serious neurological problems, have been fretting about it since, well, last yr, really, but she has passed him with flying colours. He's not talking as much as DD was at this age, but apparently he's normal, and she's the odd one, so am, broadly speaking, over the moon. Am still Angry with her for all the heartache, but Smile that all's well.

notyummy · 16/11/2010 14:12

Bonsoir - I would hedge a bet that it will mainly focus on what to wear to the many glamorous parties (!! - well, parties anyway in my case..) people are attending. BUT there may be some chat around what to buy people as well as Christmas approaches and people's brows become furrowed thinking of new gift ideas.

So two for the price of one.

hellsbelles · 16/11/2010 14:12

Plum - the havoc those women wreak. I hope you knew in your own mind she was wrong so you weren't fraught the whole time?

Nothing on that scale but my HV used to say DS was 'never going to be big - look at those tiny wrists'. Not really what I wanted to hear about my boy! He is now tallest in his class and his wrists are just fine thank you!

notyummy · 16/11/2010 14:16

Plum - what a relief for you!

blossoming · 16/11/2010 14:19

Me too hells, good on you dolcee for giving me a warm fuzzy feeling!

Just had a panic that I have:
Christmas service in chapel
Dad's birthday lunch
Christmas day
Boxing day with the inlaws, and although my outfits may be almost sorted, I have nothing for dd! And it was threads ago that you were all posting links about little dd clothes.

bonsoir, what's on your Christmas list?

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 16/11/2010 14:24

LOL blossoming, I have no idea what I am going to wear to all those glamorous parties [hollow laugh emoticon] and as for Christmas presents... I have FOL's 75th birthday party this weekend, which I am hosting, and I still haven't done much more than buy a few decorations and had the window cleaner in (which now means that I am cleaning the parquet on my hands and knees).

As you can see, it is not at all glamorous around here!

blossoming · 16/11/2010 14:26

plum, so pleased for you but angry at HV. I had a terrible one when ds was just over 1. She was in the queue at the co-op in front of me, heavily pregnant with dc2, and she said, I think he's got a squint, yes definitely, don't you think so? In front of everyone.
Luckily by the time I bought dc2 home months later she was leaving that day and we had a lovely one instead. And ds does not have a squint.

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 16/11/2010 14:27

However, if any of you Style and Beauty Wise and Avid gurus would like to help me plan my party for this weekend, all suggestions would be welcome Smile

Blossoming - DEpends what you want to spend on DD. I am notoriously tight with dds clothes! Debenhams has got some really lovely dresses in for around £20/£25 - not trying to be trendy, just v pretty.

blossoming · 16/11/2010 14:29

Well come and share when you decide bonsoir! Always nice to have a French angle on things!

OP posts:
roary · 16/11/2010 14:33

Stamp. And now going to sleep as ds snoozes.

plum have never met an hv who knew more than the average mum and many who are far more panic stricken.

DolceeBanana · 16/11/2010 14:34

Oh Plum...feel for you...but best news anyway that alls well. Silly bint that HV!!! Hells we had a similar thing with our DS...HV convinced he was small for age...and she kept on about it...he's not massive now but only 4 and DH (who is 6' 1) was a slow developer apparently...! Paediatrician (yes, she referred us), was completely non-plussed about the whole thing. We worry enough about our babies, why add to the worry ?!

Dont panic Bloss...you have plenty of time! Is it still frrrrreezing with you?

LOL Bonsoir...I bet you were thinking...what are they up to now?!

Biscuitbreaker · 16/11/2010 14:40

Sorry to jump in - but LTEC what diet is this?

Bonsoir · 16/11/2010 14:41

Indeed, Dolce Grin

Any ideas for a star-themed (thank you Vogue Smile) twin-boy 75th birthday party?! SOS please?

MarshaBrady · 16/11/2010 14:44

Ha here you all are...

traceybath · 16/11/2010 14:50

How many at the party Bonsoir and are you catering for it?

Plum - silly HV. Mine is thankfully extremely laidback - DD was only weighed once I think - she assumes because I have 3 dc's that I know what I'm doing Wink

I really need to crack on and finish my shopping for christmas - NY my mum has also wrapped all her presents!!
