bloss no I didn't, I got a beige cowl neck knitted tunic from H&M instead in the end. I'm going to London tomorrow for 10 days and plan to do some rl shopping so have been reining in the internet spending.

OllieWollieWoo · 25/10/2010 10:31

Tracey - you've got the Boden leopard print belt haven't you? Its on the WIT blog today - along with a gorgeous LBD. Also loved looking at the pics she has of readers of WIT - one has a sequin cardi on LTEC.

Can you link to WIT OWW? I know you've done it before, but I can't find it.

OllieWollieWoo · 25/10/2010 10:45

Here you go Romanarama - enjoy your London trip.

Angelina - thats very pretty. I loved bodas for nursing bras - comfortable but gave a good shape.

traceybath · 25/10/2010 11:09

Bloss - I have the autograph pale grey cashmere beret from last year - its lovely I agree.

blossoming · 25/10/2010 11:40

Dc1 is calpoled up. I'm having lamb and spinach curry, I made last week from the freezer. It is early but party starts at 12 and I'll only scoff crisps if I don't eat properly. It is minus one outside here!
Better buy that boden coat for dh quick!!

happilyeverafter · 25/10/2010 11:44

Roma The cake is even creepier when you realise you have to detach barbie's legs to get her into the cake! ABO it's very smooth buttercream made with egg whites, sugar syrup and butter, very rich and far too sickly for me but looks so silky and pipes like a dream. Recipe here

I love WIT and I must confess to buying the boden leopard belt x2 (before seeing it on Wit though). I wear it on jeans etc but it is too big to wear on my waist so bought the XS also for over cardis/dresses. I'm ill today with sore throat/sinus, at work so all wrapped up in black wearing a short aline asos cotton shift dress with leopard belt belting in into an empire shape, oversized black FC cardi that's slightly longer than dress, boden leggings and comfy flat chestnut uggs boots. I'm hiding behind my desk so I'm only visible from the waist up!

Huge congrats to Zembo that seems to have happened very quickly for you, wishing you a healthy pregnancy and hope DH is thrilled when you share your happy news.

blossoming · 25/10/2010 11:46

tracey, I'm imagining you as a style twin! Ignoring the height and weight differential of course! Beret, Barbour, and what about a cheeky red 'vintage' gucci bag to top it off!

happilyeverafter · 25/10/2010 11:52

Also just a quickie for those whose DH have a barbour. Mine sky+ed a football prog because he liked the Barbour one of the presenters was wearing. It's a quilted one but I fear he may be too tall. Does anyone know if they come quite long in arms/length. DH is 203cm. broad shouldered and slim. He's terrible to buy for and I can never get him into rl shops to try on.

OllieWollieWoo · 25/10/2010 12:06

Happily forgot to say what amazing party food you made - love the cake and the star biscuits (er, how did you attach the stick bit? Am intrigued!) (Also liked the pics of the dress - think is a Phase 8 one?). Hope you feel better soon.

zembo That's fantastic news! So happy for you!

traceybath · 25/10/2010 13:07

Happily - wow thats an amazing lot of baking!

I don't have the leopard belt but lordy - I so think I should Grin

We've made 36 mini chocolate muffins today and am preparing spare room as my sister and her 2 boys are coming to stay tomorrow - my boys very excited!

Have also got dried fruit steeping for christmas cake.

We're looking at another house this saturday - its in Colerne dolcee . . .

Right need to make some biscuits that can easily be cut out - what recipes do you recommend?

traceybath · 25/10/2010 13:08

Oh and saw in Style yesterday that topshop will be having Kate Moss' last collection in soon - looked to be some quite sweet dresses and a cropped leather jacket.

Bonsoir · 25/10/2010 13:57

LOL tracey, DD has a friend here and we are making cupcakes that resemble those on the front cover of How To Be A Domestic Goddess - pale pink icing and pink roses. We also have proper cupcake boxes and ribbons so DD's friends can transport them home Smile.

I always use Nigella's biscuit recipe - from Domestic Goddess. Works well for us, just as long as you don't use the really exotic cutters with lots of fiddly bits that either break when you are putting the biscuit on the baking tray, or burn in the oven (or both), and cause mega-disappointment!

happilyeverafter · 25/10/2010 14:22

OWW You put the paper sticks in the raw dough and bake them. They don't burn! I was sure the cones for the icecream-like cakes would burn but all were fine.

Tracey I've used this recipe many times now and it's never broken up or spread. The all-purpose flour is plain and confectioners sugar is icing sugar.

Bonsoir I bought a set of marzipan spacers for rolling out biscuit dough and get much better results using them and a more evenly cooked biscuit.

traceybath · 25/10/2010 14:49

Thanks for recipes - we're trialling Nigella.

Bosoir - oh individual cupcake boxes - I feel I need some of those in my life Grin I know its terribly un-mn but I do love a bit of cupcakes and bunting.

Also bonsoir - what did you wear to your DSS's bar mitzvah in the end? Did you buy the pink marni?

Bonsoir · 25/10/2010 15:41

Small DDs enable you to indulge in cupcakes and bunting to your heart's content with no need for justification to the MN police Smile.

In the end I bought a very lovely gold brocade dress in Etro - quite short, but with sleeves. And wore it with very high black suede shoes with tan bondage straps from Fratelli Rosetti, and a red silk/cashmere shawl. I was very happy with the way I looked Smile. Thank you for asking!

DolceeBanana · 25/10/2010 15:52

Yes...glad I can indulge my love of bunting and cupcakes too Wink

We are making a choc cake (Annie Bell)...she's rather good. A no nonsense cake maker. Yum!

Ooh ... I wonder if its the one in Waterg Tracey???

Am going to view a place tomorrow...up this way...smaller but beautiful as a house has come up in Cornwall !

Actually frustrated as desperate to have a good look in WC in Bath and DD1 had tears as was tired so cut short the trip, after we'd bought all their things of course, and lunched in Shoon cafe!

Can't link at the mo but fab quilted coat in Shoon...choc brown ... still looking for the perfect slim puffer in choc brown.

DolceeBanana · 25/10/2010 15:58

well, desperate is probably an exageration but you know what I mean! Hmm

roary · 25/10/2010 16:30

I have that Boden belt and so does Carciofi. It's brilliant. Although neither of us can figure out what the purple bit is for - Miss WIT seems to have a purpose. I would highly recommend.

We had a lovely dinner in Balham on Sat night, felt quite excited going to the big city to see our friends. Birthday party at soft play place before, which was interesting, was looking out to see if there were any Avid ladies in disguise. I got my first serious case of Dirty Looks from other mothers when DD screamed at someone in the ball pit. Honestly, she's 2, she was swiftly reprimanded. Why the glares???

But the good news is the brogues were out again and again the subject of much admiration. SO those of you who think you can't wear them, be brave! Mine have a heel so are a bit less masculine. I am loving Plum's styel with the coloured socks but have not tried it yet, have been doing nude knee highs. At the kids party wore them with HOulilikes and the dinner with the WC company merino dress with buttons (too lazy to link).

Colours ladies am trying to set a date to have it done now, feel in the need of something fun and enlightening but the lady is thwarting me with her busy schedule.

DS has taken to rolling around to get places, is very funny, like a small commando boy in my living room.

carciofi · 25/10/2010 17:01

Yes, belt is great!

Roary, he sounds so cute.

Happily, those cakes are amazing.

The Paige jeans arrived from House of Fraser and they are jeggings, don't know why they can't give the style name in the description. Anyway, I don't like them so that money saved, I suppose.

Curry sounds delicious, Blossoming.

GeorginaWorsley · 25/10/2010 17:14

tracey I like the Kate Moss dresses in Style yesterday also.

I have the Autograph beret and agree it is wonderful.
Like the outfits on 'WIT'.

blossoming · 25/10/2010 18:55

Today I have been to a party, too many boys, too many different ages, fighting on the bouncy castle. New craze of pulling each other's trousers down..! (Not dc1, he was well behaved thankfully). Then I've had to go on the bumping cars, twice! in the fair. Feel sick after all the hot dog smells, and have whiplash.
Good day! Glad I was toasty in my beret.
