Thanks for the cardie suggestions. I like the Gap one but would still like the DVF in black. Maybe in the sale.

Roary, DVF dress? I am a little bit DVF obsessed tonight. Have a great time.

reallygrumpy · 22/10/2010 22:29

I can't believe how fast this thread moves! A few days away and you've filled one thread and moved onto a new one. I'm so glad those of you who met up had such a great time, sounds really fun as does cake's trying on sesh in Selfridges. I love Cos clothes and am going to go back this week to buy a silk blouse I tried on last fri (sorry it's not online so I can't link).

hells I've just bought a +J down coat from uniqlo in Westfield but it's not on the website but the whole range is lovely and Jil Sander at high St prices is most wise

notyummy so sorry to hear your job news. I'm CS too and have had a few grim days at work this wk but still have a job at the mo.

I've just been checking my diary and Nov and Dec are looking pretty hectic, 2 lots of 40th birthday drinks, various family occasions, DD is going to 6 birthday parties and DH and I are going away for a weekend, hurrah! So I may need some advice with outfit planning.

Gosh this is an epic post, only other thing I was going to say is that I have bought myself a fabulous new pair of shoes which I love. They're brogues but the chunky heel makes them a bit more feminine and so comfortable.

Oh, and I'm meant to be working at the moment so I'm browsing MN with the TV on and a large glass of wine. Must be more disciplined! Large workload and PT hours (and pay) is proving quite challenging.

I also wanted to ask whether anyone can give me some interiors help, I need door handles for interior doors and taps for when we get our bathroom re-done in the new year.

reallygrumpy · 22/10/2010 22:38

Nice shoes everything have you tried Zara for work trousers? I find them v flattering and they're machine washable. I need a fitted dress for work, saw a few possibles on the m&s website so I may go for a browse one lunchtime next week.

PlumSykes · 23/10/2010 08:29

Everything, did you try a few pairs in Gap. Was looking online last night, they have loads of styles at the moment. The Perfect Trouser look good.

Think you are a similar shape to me-hourglass, not that tall?-I find M&S Limited Coll and Autograph a good fit, and, depressingly, Warehouse, who also cut for curves. M&S and Warehouse. Oh, the glamour.

Have just been looking at the WIT woman, think she might be tall (as well as tanned, toned and blonde. Grr).

hf128219 · 23/10/2010 08:35

Have good days everyone Smile

Will have a look at that WC silk blouse when out today. I like the neck and cuffs.

What miserable weather.

blossoming · 23/10/2010 11:29

Morning all! Sunshine and showers here. Our first Saturday at home in weeks. Of course that's making me restless!! Oh well, chance to dress up when I go out tonight.

I'm looking at The Times magazine. I think Tamara Mellon is the perfect example of someone who looks better with a shorter hairstyle and a fringe. I hated her Morticia Adams look!!

I'm new to WIT, but I think we could do something similar: WIT with children!!

monkeysmama · 23/10/2010 11:56

I really like WIT and enjoyed our very own Cakey's blog where she took a photo of her outfit everyday. I outfit plan as if I am living that kind of glam life whereas in reality the furthest most of my "outfits" get is the library and local park.

Forest today then out for dinner tonight. All 3 of us so will be an early one but will get dressed up anyway. Am thinking of wearing the Reiss via ebay wine suede shoeboots. To the forest I'll be wearing my hunters with the new fleecy Celtic sheepskin insoles.

bunnymother · 23/10/2010 13:34

Quick post from me as really tired today... Scan went well yesterday - babies are doing v well - just under 2kg each and its fine for them to arrive whenever they like. I am so relieved and happy! Celebrated w steaks and salad and apple/blackberry pie for dinner. Have a date booked - 24 November. Assuming they don't come early - Dr said I am so big of bump (for my frame) she bets I don't make it to 36 weeks. Fine by me!!

For those of you w older DCs who traipse around in the woods/forests - Envy - cannot wait to do that with our girls!! One of the things I most look forward to doing w them. Enjoy!

blossoming · 23/10/2010 14:05

That's lovely news bunny. How exciting to know they'll be here soon!

On a similar note, I think libra is due this weekend.

hf128219 · 23/10/2010 14:42

Oh bunny that is exciting! Great news indeed.

Had a look at that WC silk blouse - it felt a bit rough to the touch for my liking. The petal colour is like a very, very, very pale salmon.

loobylu3 · 23/10/2010 15:05

I like those brogues EIE and really grumpy.

I saw these the other day in dune and they were really nice- the distressed leather made them more appealing.
I always feel that you have to be v stylish to wear such masculine shoes though and not sure that I am! :)

I could be tempted by these as they have the heel to make them more feminine.

These boots are lovely and comfy on- highly recommend them!

bunny- how exciting that the twins will be born soon! Did you decide on their names yet?

traceybath · 23/10/2010 17:15

I too looked at the SC blouse and thought the pink was not very nice - sort of dirty/washed out looking. Also very big on the shoulders.

Bunny - yeay to twins being ready Grin

Right off for bath and to tart up for night out.

OllieWollieWoo · 23/10/2010 18:39

Thanks for looking in WC hf & Traceybath* - shame re the colour but thank you for saving me P&P on a wasted order!

Plum - thanks for the offer of the Apple Chutney recipe - is it from a recent Easy Living? My sister gets it and saves them for me so am due a big reading pile when I come over in a couple of weeks! Will look out for it.

Bunny - lovely news re the twins. Sounds like they are doing really well. Maybe we should run an W&A sweepstakes on arrival date????

Quiet night in with DH tonight - off to a natural history museum tomorrow as there is a new whale exhibition DSs want to see....you'll find me in the cafe munching a muffin!

AllBuggiedOut · 23/10/2010 18:39

I tried those Dune boots too looby but couldn't justify them. Am hoping they'll come into the sale!

bunny am very excited about your twins. How're you going on names?

mm and others with Hunters - how tall are you please?! I'm 5' 4 1/2" but when I tried on the navy Hunters I'd been coveting, they dug into the back of my knee every time I took a step. May need to rethink Sad

OllieWollieWoo · 23/10/2010 18:41

Forgot to add that the thread re the 12 pound M&S skinnies is interesting. May ignore the horrible pics, listen to the good reviews and order some grey ones.

OP posts:
hf128219 · 23/10/2010 18:53

OWW I am 5'4 and don't have that digging into the back of the knee. Is this when wearing trousers?

PlumSykes · 23/10/2010 19:55

Have just sorted out DS's drawers and set aside lots of too small babygrows.
Has hit really hard this time, the fact that he is my last baby, and all this little lovely stuff that I have so many memories of it now surplas, really. Have set up temporary baby-shrine in spare bedroom, and laid it all out on the bed while I decide what to do with it-can't give away yet, really shouldn't keep. Hope DH deosn't go in there, he'll think Ive gone nuts.

Buggied, check they are the women's ones. My mum had this very issue, and it was because she has bought men's boots. I am same height as you, with hot combo of little legs/long body, and my navy Hunters are fine. Fab, even.

OWW, was about 2-3 issues ago, a collection of jams/chutneys/preserves. Good lemon curd recipe too. Yum!

Bunny, I can't believe the bunnykins are coming so soon!

AllBuggiedOut · 23/10/2010 19:56

hf I was wearing short skirt and opaques with the Hunters. Think they come up just a bit higher than the Joules wellies I've been wearing Blush. May try with skinnies under though, so thanks for that Smile

PlumSykes · 23/10/2010 19:57

Buggied, have just looked here at height of Hunters. The normal ones are 38cm, the Ladies Huntress are 33cm. A big difference on little legs!

AllBuggiedOut · 23/10/2010 20:00

Ah ha - will research the Hunters further, thanks plum. And well done for starting the baby-grow sort out. I hope you are enjoying the memories Smile.

loobylu3 · 23/10/2010 20:23

allbuggiedout I haven't actually bought the boots yet but definitely would in the sale too Grin

plum- I have been organising the DCs clothes today too (well, making a start at least).
I said to DH that I was going to start to get rid of some of the clothes as we have 3 DC and have decided that it is v unlikely we will have more. He said 'oh no, we may have another in the future, wait and see!!'
Arghh!
Have you got a close friend or relative that you could give some of the clothes too? That way you would at least feel happy that they are going to a good home!

hf128219 · 23/10/2010 20:24

I always wear my hunters with trousers. Maybe that is it?

Gosh, I must be a cruel hearted lady - all my baby clothes etc are long gone - charity shops, friends, nursery etc. And I only have 1 dd! Blush

Well I have kept 2 vests and a pair of slippers.

loobylu3 · 23/10/2010 20:24

Did anyone like the brogues btw?
