Hi Hells, no because they don't deliver outside the UK, but I'll go to the Regent St shop on a lunch break one day shortly as will be in London for 10 days over the All Saints holiday (as in holy Saints, not grey dresses). I think maybe bloss tried them on and didn't like?

eie don't ever blame anyone with a 5wk old for anything, and don't feel hurt by anything they say or do! We all know thats a 'special' time.

I've left my babies to cry. Most notably ds1 at about 12 weeks, the night after I had spent a long time looking for him in our apartment, actually unaware that I was holding him in my arms. I was so tired I was hallucinating or something. We (me, dh, and paediatrician) agreed the following day that it was in his best interests to be left in his cot at night Blush. (It worked a treat, btw: one night of howls, and the next night he just slept for 9 hrs. By 15 weeks he was a 9pm to 9am sleeper.)

Just to say - you never know what's actually going on.

DolceeBanana · 21/10/2010 11:01

Marsha - I really like the green and asymmetric designs...don't like the Anna Sui.

hellsbelles · 21/10/2010 11:02

Bloss - that's so scary - you poor thing. Glad she's jabbering away now...always makes it slightly more bearable.

marsha - I like the P&J and Anna Sui too

Tracey - it does sound like you are slightly relieved! It sounds very sensible to wait though.

Dolcee - I was hardly allowed to watch any tv as a child (and yes they did have it in those days Wink)...and subsequently am addicted to it now. Whereas DH who was given free rein isn't bothered by it all. So I actually think a bit is good (to avoid what's happened to me Grin

traceybath · 21/10/2010 11:05

Marsha - love the green and the Anna Sui - not too keen on the acne.

Yangy - I think this is all going to work out perfectly for you - you'll be in Singapore in no time Grin

Dolcee - yes I am relieved to be honest. Thought of very spartan/even more stressful life did not fill me with joy. DH works incredibly hard/long hours and so I feel we don't need additional house stress. So its back to looking for that mythical property - you know reasonable price, gorgeous rural location but near to town and not too mucked about so I can obsess over kitchens etc Grin

Oh and television - hey, my children watch cbeebies and they same ok - agree everything in moderation. They definitely watch more in the winter than when is nice outside.

Perhaps you could get your DH to look after house/dc's for a few weeks and see how much tv they watch then Wink

And agree with Hells - I could watch as much tv as I wanted when a child but hardly watch it at all now. And even then I preferred to read - what a swot I was Wink

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:14

Thanks for feedback lovely people. Shall ponder further. Would like a dress for events, not sure if have cracked it.

I eat with children as prefer to eat early. On weekends we eat together (obv).

Ds1 is allowed to watch a movie, Wall-e, Ratatouille etc but only one and in the afternoons when tired. He prefers to draw do lego mostly anyway so works out ok.

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:15

Tracey good decision I think. I feel I am itching to do the design bit on here Smile

traceybath · 21/10/2010 11:15

melikey

notyummy · 21/10/2010 11:18

Dolcee and Tracey - I think you should both apply to be on Location, Location. Think of the outfits we could plan for you! Smile

Dolcee - I don't subscribe to the 'tv is poison' thing. DD watches some most days - in the evening post tea and before bath. Some times I sit with her, other times I hare round emptying bins/prepping work and school stuff for the following day. At the weekend we sometime have a 'family picnic lunch' in the garden room if the weather is rubbish. We pick something to watch that we all like then sit on the floor together with picnic food. Doctor Who, The Secret Garden and The Incredibles have proved popular screenings recently!

Marsha - I like all those links, which probably doesn't help - sorry!

Blossoming - sorry to hear about the fall trauma. Parenthood can indeed involve sudden fear.

AllBuggiedOut · 21/10/2010 11:20

bloss glad she's ok. How frightening though Sad

Love the Anna Sui dress marsha. I don't like the neck of the Paul & Joe Sister one, and was put off their stuff by the free t-shirt they gave away with a magazine (Marie Claire ?) this summer which was appalling quality Confused. And much as I like asymmetric and zips, I think you could find better than the Acne.

I'm the opposite of tracey re TV - was severely restricted as a child and now love to watch. A perfect evening in alone for me would be dinner in front of Spooks, 24, Grand Designs... But I do try to limit the kids viewing. I always reckon the day has been a success if we get thought it without putting it on! Having said that, DS3 has a cold and is very cuddly today, so is downstairs snuggled up watching Mickey Mouse while I Mumsnet Get On With Stuff Wink

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:22

I adore Mad Men. I love the images and characters, it gets me each time.

blossoming · 21/10/2010 11:25

I agree with you dolcee. cbeebies is a fantastic educational tool imo. The problem starts when they outgrow it. Where to next? I have parental control on cartoon network as I can't stand Ben 10. Dc1 watches his favourite films (Toy Story 2, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang) over and over till he knows the words! The Land of Poo anyone??!

notyummy · 21/10/2010 11:26

I also like Mad Men. I am sure I could sooth Don Draper's troubled soul...

Romanarama · 21/10/2010 11:27

Oh bloss didn't see your post. How awful, but they're quite robust aren't they? My friend's little boy fell out of the shopping trolley straight onto his head in the supermarket car park once, and was completely fine, amazingly.

I used to watch TV the whole time as a child and now I rarely watch, though have developed a recent addiction to SATC. I love all the strapless dresses.

notyummy · 21/10/2010 11:28

DD is loving CBBC new series - Me and My MOnsters, on each morning at 8am. I have sky plussed it and this is watch she is watching after tea. Personally, I don't find it hilarious....but I am not the target audience.

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:28

I love Don Draper. Blush he's not real. But ah he's the only tv/film person that does that.

Romanarama · 21/10/2010 11:29

I'm crazy about Mad Men too. I fancy Don, which amazes dh who thinks he's an arse for being unfaithful to his wife Smile.

My boys won't watch cbeebies anymore. They want Ben10 and trashy Disney programmes.

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:31

He's so conflicted, and the relationship with Peggy is incredible. I really adore him.

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:35

Bloss ds does that too. Currently he is on Ice Age movies.

TraceyB did you get it? Sold out?

hellsbelles · 21/10/2010 11:35

oh Mad Men is on my box set hit list - can't wait.

Sounds like all those of us deprived of tv as children are now addicts Grin and vice versa. So Dolcee - throw that at DH!

Fel1x · 21/10/2010 11:45

Morning (just!)
Congrats baby L on the walking!
EIE - sorry that you've been upset by your friend defriending you on FB. I'm sure once she (and the post baby hormones) have calmed down she will realise you were trying to help and will be fine with you again
Bloss - sorry to hear your DD had a mishap, glad she's all ok now though!

RE cbeebies Dolcee - I am v simnilar to you in that the DCs watch it while I get ready in the mornings and while I do tea in the evenings pretty much every day. I think its fine in moderation and tbh DS1 has learnt a lot (including the alphabet at age 2!) from watching cbeebies so its not all posison!!

Popped into town this morning to pick up my contact lenses and did a warm up shop of ear muffs, gloves and scarf! Will be nice and cosy from now on hopefully. Its getting so cold now!!

Just having a browse on Next website and came across this model... is it me or does she look impossibly thin??

MarshaBrady · 21/10/2010 11:48

That photo doesn't look right. Bad Photoshop possibly..

notyummy · 21/10/2010 11:48

Yep Fe1ix - hope for her sake that the pic has been photoshopped because although pretty, she is definitely scrawny.

Fel1x · 21/10/2010 11:48

Oh and lots of 25% off vouchers in Grazia this week including Warehouse and Donna Ida (about 5 or 6 places in total though!)
