This way ladies....

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 08/10/2010 18:36

nice work on the Asos order Strangeways - looks good!

rufus I know what you mean about the pegs and big bums and fear that this is why I should avoid at all costs - but another part of me hopes that people will think "oh no, she doesn't have a big bum - it's just them trews!!" Grin

tracey I know, I have all sorts of dysmorphias going on. Including, perhaps, cool dysmporphia. My £15 Primark boots (which let's not forget I have in 2 colours) are not a million miles away from that Dune pair, and I have been regularly wearing with skinnies Blush

just looking at November diary and we have parties every weekend which means mucho outfit planning, hurrah!!

reallygrumpy · 08/10/2010 19:06

Nice boots Tracy, I'm not cool enough to wear them but my Kew biker boots have arrived and are lovely. It's been a day of deliveries cos My Barbour also arrived and I'm debating whether to keep it or send it back. It's a nice coat but I'm not sure it's me but on the other hand it's practical and other than a proper fleece lined outdoor coat I don't have a waterproof coat... Hmm, will go and try it on again... Maybe it just needs a scarf, the black makes me look half dead!

ABO sorry about DH's job.

hf128219 · 08/10/2010 19:07

LTEC You can get away with cool!

LetThemEatCake · 08/10/2010 20:57

hf you are very kind to me Smile

is dh around this weekend?

my new outfit to obsess over on my want list is this here

It seems I am having something of a See by Chloe moment Grin

DTI10 · 08/10/2010 21:02

Still searching for my Navy trench. A few good ideas but nothing concrete. Thanks to all who inputted. Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 08/10/2010 21:15

That's a great dress cake. Gorgeous colour!

Going to see my parents with DD tomorrow. Have to go to bed now as train leaves early. Have a lovely weekend all!

ManiPedi · 08/10/2010 21:16

I am in love with these

They look like they would be really comfy too.

Definitely cannot afford though. Bugger.

vinvinoveritas · 08/10/2010 21:17

CARCIOFI congratulations on the fantastic news!!! Grin

Roman congratulations on the fantastic trench!!! Grin

hf128219 · 08/10/2010 21:18

A black one

No, dh away working - hence my fannying around on MN, FB and various clothing websites!

ManiPedi · 08/10/2010 21:19

BTW they may not look all that on the website, but there is a picture of them "on feet" on the FB feed that I get and they look ace Smile!

bunnymother · 08/10/2010 21:45

8 pages in 2 days?!?!? DD slept for only 40 mins today so am falling hopelessly behind! Although I did see - Carciofi - CONGRATULATIONS!! That is just wonderful news!! How fantastic to have 3 confirmed pregnancies on this thread (you, me and Libra - have I missed anyone else?).

If you fancy a viewing of what I look like at almost 30 weeks pregnant w twins, am about to temporarily put up photos. Marsha - can you add me so I can see your photos (your DS2 sounds like a cutey)?

DH is out tonight so have eaten soup w toast - normally we have this meaty meals and so nice to make something quick, light and easy so I can relax on the couch (life in the fast lane, Wise ladies, life in the fast lane...)

aStarInStrangeways · 08/10/2010 21:49

Cake that dress is such a lovely colour. Not a shape that would flatter the shorter of arse among us (:() but on you it would work.

I scoff at the idea of anyone thinking you have a large arse, btw Envy

Fritzi shoeboots is what I'm thinking, but have only recently been able to accept that I like them Blush so now I am on the hunt for my first ever pair. Honestly, why does it take me so long to come around to these things? A boot that shows off more leg than calf or knee length - how can that ever be a bad thing on the under-5'5"?

hf128219 · 08/10/2010 22:01

Bunny You look absolutely terrific, you really do. Is that Selfridges Loos?

monkeysmama · 08/10/2010 22:06

'Evening ladies

Quick post from me while dp is in the loo.

Uniqlo cashmere was so so disappointing and is all going back. Out of 19 items I am keeping 3 - two magic heat tech tops (worth a try if you haven't already) and a cashmere/merino wool mix camel cardigan. Can anyone (EIE I think you're in the know here?) help me find some non ££££ cashmere polo necks?

Zara was tres disappointing too. Stuff for dd was so nylony and the dresses I tried on were really unpleasant. It annoys me shops ask not insignificant money for such tat.

Oddly the Next stuff for dd was all good.

Met dp from work in Greenwich tonight and wore my Zara dress I meant to take back and didn't, an old Zara beige mac and the Steve Madden beige boots I tried to sell after 1 wear on eBay but didn't and a very old Max Mara animal print scarf. And.... You won't believe this so I am aiming for a dot-dot-dot build up. Well, first the kid (aged maybe 17) who runs the cafe in our local park declared his undying love (we'd only popped in for an espresso to go - I may expand on this story when I get over my total embarrassment) then a fire engine full of fire fighters invited dd and me to step aboard and view their truck Shock outside the Pirates of the Caribbean film set.

We then got refused entry to our chosen venue (no kids after 6) and once we'd eaten in our local dp (who'd been at a lunch from 12-6 Hmm) put a nappy on dd inside out (wtf) and she wee-ed all over me and into said boots. Ah the glamour.

.

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:11

Have missed so much, don't know where to start!
Bunny you look fantastic

Carciofi I am so happy for you Smile

ABO so sorry about your dh, hope something better comes along very soon.

Bloss belated happy birthday

Esher sorry to hear about you cataracts, try not to worry.

Roman if anyone deserves a treat it is you with your workload.

tracey you must be so proud of ds, I nearly cried at ds1s first parents evening when his teacher said lovely things about him Blush

Cakey loving all the lace, I am hankering after a lace dress too.

Vin I bet you will ace all your exams

Marsha I want to be you, you always sound perfect, but not in a prissy way Smile

Hells I have always have a red coat on the go, there is no better way to cheer up a miserable grey day than to put on a red coat. When dc were younger, under 6 I suppose, I always bought them red winter coats as 1. they looked adorable, and 2. they were so easy to spot in a crowded playground. They are all too opioninated abot clothes to do it now though.

Hi to everyone else, esp newcomers. College is fab, I really love it, the only drawback is that there are not enough hours in the day. ran into M&S to buy dc new knickers and socks today as I am so behind on laundry that extra suppiles will take a bit of pressure off me. DD not impressed though, she only likes Cath Kidston knickers Grin I do see what she means, they are much prettier!

Have to spend weekend doing my first assignments and cooking for the freezer. Oh the glamorous life. I am counting the seconds until we go to Paris, although dc moaning as we will be away on halloween, which is their favourite day of the year, dressing up and trick or treating in the dark. Well you can't have everything says grumpy mum Wink

bunnymother · 08/10/2010 22:16

hf - thank you! Ha ha, no not the Selfridges loos, the loos at the local church where playgroup is - told you its life in the fast lane for me!! Grin

mm - see, its that indefinable sex appeal that you have. Can't be bought or faked, but when you have it in spades... Although I agree, shame about wee in your boots. That is not good.

Verity - so pleased to hear you are enjoying college - well done, you!!

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:16

Hf love that you recognise the loos Grin

MM that was some evening, please expand on the undying love bit! Sorry about your boots!

hf128219 · 08/10/2010 22:16

Monkey I think I have the same Uniqlo cardigan. I bought mine this week - £19.99, reduced from £29.99.. It hangs well and looks more expensive. Well, before it's been washed that is!

Love your story of inside out nappy! Although I am sure not funny for you.

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:19

Thanks bunny, I've wanted to do it for 20 years - better late than never Smile Glad you got your nanny problem sorted out, I'm still so excited about you having twins, I smile every time I think of you and your little gang of girls!

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:21

hf after your previous fab threads, every time I see you I feel obliged to ask if you've got any gossip? Wink

hf128219 · 08/10/2010 22:26

Verity No goss that can be repeated on a wide open internet forum I'm afraid! Smile

bunnymother · 08/10/2010 22:29

Definitely better late than never, Verity. And thank you for your excitement - I think its really lovely. DH is almost beside himself - he can't wait. And I am now really looking forward to having a little gang of girls, too. Think they will be adorable, esp if they are even half as fun and exuberant as DD. Now we just have to come up w 2 names!

Yes, hf - any salacious gossip you fancy sharing? Although am not as clever as some, so please, no difficult clues... Smile

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:31

Oh never mind, hope you are enjoying your evening with the internet, accompanied I hope by a glass of red and tub of ice cream Smile I'm snuggled in bed with laptop as dh is watching another bloody rugby match.

VerityBrulee · 08/10/2010 22:33

Bunny the fun of choosing names, have you a list?

bunnymother · 08/10/2010 22:35

oh and ABO - so sorry about your DH's job. Must be stomach churning times - I know just what its like to be anxious about work/career/money. I hope you can get comfortable w situation soon, and look forward to new opportunities for your DH.

esher - from what I gather, someone's peepers are undergoing/ will have to undergo cataract surgery? Have my fingers crossed for you that its over soon.
