OP posts:
cyb · 07/10/2010 17:56

coo Nodders they ARE nice. Nicest ones I've seen, tbh Envy

cyb · 07/10/2010 17:56

oops

FritziGreenEyes · 07/10/2010 17:58

Fantastic news carciofi! Hope you are feeling well and glowing Smile. Had to smile at the thought of trying on clothes with cushion. When I was about 4 months pregnant with DD I bought some maternity clothes in a small shop in Islington. They had a foam belly you could put on to see what the clothes might look like a few months later. Couldn't stop giggling and bought some great stuff.

ollie Love that blog too! I wish I could put outfits together like that (and be 30, wrinkle-free and toned).

tracey Ordered the boots in grey yesterday and hope they will see me through winter! Was never brave enough to do the skinny-trousers-tucked-into-boots look but plan to embrace it now.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 07/10/2010 18:23

Congratulations carciofi!

hellsbelles · 07/10/2010 18:30

oh how did I miss that Carciofi - what lovely happy news! Many congratulations!!!

Fleecy · 07/10/2010 18:33

Just skimming while clearing up dinner things/putting DC to bed. Still happy to eat pretty much anywhere on 16th.

But wanted to post big congratulations to carciofi - what wonderful news!

hellsbelles · 07/10/2010 18:37

fritzi - are you based in Islington?

traceybath · 07/10/2010 18:41

Right ready for parents evening. Grey leopard print jersey dress and pleather jacket and black suede shoeboots. Massively over-dressed as usual Wink but am going out for dinner afterwards.

mrsjuan · 07/10/2010 18:42

Phew - have just put DD to bed after a grueling 24 hours! Goodness knows what's up with her but she decided she didn't want to go to sleep last night - had an enormous tantrum when we finished her stories, wouldn't be cuddled for her usual songs and once I'd finally managed to get her to sleep, then woke up every hour. She's been shattered and whingy all day - didn't even sleep well for her nap and had a complete breakdown over dinner & throughout bath. Lets see what tonight holds.

Thanks for the new thread NY - like the title. I keep meaning to write down your beany soup - is it a slimming world recipe?

Carcofi - congratulations! What lovely news - I'm sure we can hep you find some great maternity clothes.

Tracey - was wondering how you always managed to get the good stuff from the outnet - thanks for the tip - jumper is indeed lovely. Have a good night - I'm positive you don't look enormous.

I have a question about bootcut jeans - apparently they are permissible again but what footwear should one wear with them??? Esp for evening or smart.

LetThemEatCake · 07/10/2010 18:42

hi ladies

carciofi huge congrats!! that is fabulous news. I remember that you were struggling a bit with the question of whether to have another or not, am so pleased that it was taken out of your hands for you- much easier! (I had same with dc3 .. dh said maybe, I said yes, nature YES!!!!)

thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and wishes yesterday. It was unbearably sad. My friends handled it with a dignity and bravery that was so inspiring and moving. Many tears were shed.

I had a Mother's Ruin booked with nursery mums last night and of course went and drank too much, feeling shattered from the day. Blush And then came home and, rather than going to bed and getting some sleep in readiness for taking all 3 dc apple picking today, I stayed up eating nuts and drunk shopping. Blush Coping mechanisms, cliche, moi?

anyway, here's what I bought,

these top and trousers
these boots
these lace tee in black and in white
this blouse

will go back and check out links now. hells I love that red coat but do you not think that the lack of fastenage would drive you mad? It would me - I flap enough Grin

tracey have a lovely night - what did you end up wearing? am sure you;re not huge, as if.

carciofi · 07/10/2010 19:19

Thanks again! LTEC, yes, decision made.
It must have been a very hard day yesterday.

I love that lace blouse. And the boots are a great price!

FritziGreenEyes · 07/10/2010 19:26

hells No I wish! We relocated to Germany a few years ago but occasionally go back to London to see friends and do some shopping Grin.

mrsjuan We have sleeping problems here too! DD made a huge fuss yesterday and I couldn't go to sleep either. Today she is tossing and turning in her bed and shouting every 30seconds: "Mummyyyy I can't sleep" .

cake Nothing wrong with a bit of retail therapy and drink to get over a hard day like you had yesterday. Will check out your links now.

tracey Your outfit sounds fabulous!

Zembo · 07/10/2010 19:29

Ooohh Carciofi what wonderful news! Huge congratulations. No two births are the same so no point in worrying about that at the moment. If I were you I'd just enjoy the delicious little secret you have from the rest of the world (minus us).

Cake I think the first outfit will look really good on you.

FritziGreenEyes · 07/10/2010 19:32

Great haul cake. Would love to wear trousers like that but tried on a similar pair in Zara today and it made me look enormous! I'm sure you can pull it off as you are really tall and slim.

hellsbelles · 07/10/2010 19:33

Fritzi - i"m such an idiot - I knew that (and forgot!)...

Tracey - sounds gorgeous.

LTEC - I'm sorry it was so very hard. I suppose there is no way it couldn't have been.

Love the Chloe and mango blouses particularly.

hellsbelles · 07/10/2010 19:34

actually missed that you got the trousers too Envy please report back!

notyummy · 07/10/2010 19:37

Carciofi - Wow! Congratulations - that is amazing news.

LTEC - Good to hear from you, and am not surprised at all that you felt you needed a few drinks. Such a sad day.

Your links are lovely - splurging on the See by Chloe as well; it is beautiful though! I looked at that Mango blouse earlier this week when brousing and thought it was pretty.

MrsJ - Not a Slimming World receipe. Can't remember which mag I ripped it out of Blush May have been Zest. Tastes so good its hard to believe that it is v healthy.

Meet-up ladies - I fancy the Hix place Blossoming linked to. Also like Brasserie Roux, although its not as close to the shops!! Perhaps Choo will have some further suggestions later and then we can decide.

OP posts:
notyummy · 07/10/2010 19:40

Browsing + blouses = brousing ..you see what I did there?!

Oh, Ok then. It wasn't intentional Blush

Tracey and Dolcee - loving the sound of the parents night outfits. Think I may have to seriously up my game on that sort of front!

OP posts:
Zembo · 07/10/2010 19:42

Hells not as bad as me I missed everything in Cake's post except for the links Blush

FritziGreenEyes · 07/10/2010 19:57

hells No problem! I can't remember most of the time where everyone here lives. Except that ollie is in Holland and a few of you are in London, and blossoming lives in a place where it always rains Grin.

ManiPedi · 07/10/2010 20:58

Congratulations carciofi - wonderful news! I am thinking of doing the same myself.....Smile!

LTEC - sorry to hear about your day - must have been very difficult Sad.

I am swaying more towards getting the boots now - will let you all know when I get them.

Will lurk now looking for ideas!

LetThemEatCake · 07/10/2010 21:09

Oh esher what a horrible day. My mum had cataract surgery a few years ago, she was unbelievably scared but it all went really well and she says that the difference it's made to her sight is amazing.

welcome mani and Strangeways

carci it's got to be the arctic parka ... I wore mine the night before L was born and it zipped up Grin

am picking up my HUmmingbird maxi tomorrow so will check out what the citizens jeggings were that I tired on. AHve to admit that they looked good/ made me look good but just made me feel like I was in my Nike running tights.

Am going to Biscuit on all brogues, not my cup of tea at all I'm afraid.

tracey you sound gorgeous, hope you have a lovely night - and dolce your outfit sounds great.

sorry to over-share/ blow own trumpet but I wore my Zara fur gilet/ skinny jeans/ heeled lace up boots combo (as trialled by the Moggle) to the pub last night and got many compliments including from (gasp!!) a good looking man Shock (I then saw him again today, by chance, in Starbucks, post-apple picking - was rather less impressive in mud-splattered skinnies, Ash high tops, dh's brown Brora sweater and a slightly haggard, desperate expression)

hope all those with broken sleeps get some rest tonight

eshermummy · 07/10/2010 21:11
