This way ladies....

OP posts:
Fleecy · 16/10/2010 23:06

yes I saw people having their photo taken there - young, European, studenty types.

But I'm in no position to comment, having taken playgroup's teddy bear to the shoe shop the other week and taken a photo of him standing on the shop floor wearing Dora wellies Blush

MarshaBrady · 16/10/2010 23:07

Haha not unless you did a detour via Paris Esher Grin.

Dh getting irked as has put on a movie. Grin

LetThemEatCake · 16/10/2010 23:16

tried this on tonight, liked it very much.

also this in charcoal which i only tried to humour the assistant, and expected that it would be a "yeah, so what, could just wear DH's sweater, what's the diff?" kind thing. But was looooooovely. Luxe and edgy and cosy and slouchy and cool all at once.

Everything - I think Bloss is actually more delicately featured (and, so, more attractive) than Zooey, but I do see a resemblance.

Fleecy - ha ha, that's a nice resemblance - I like! Although not really true

Poor sweetie has woken w a temp, so given bottle of milk containing Calpol. Ostensibly asleep now but I keep hearing the odd little complaint. And the twins are kicking - all my DCs are keeping me up. Taste of things to come?

blossoming · 17/10/2010 06:41

Funny you should mention Boat that rocked everything. On the train I was trying to think of a celeb who came from near me (who would have similar accent) and the closest would be Rhys Ifans (20 miles). In fact his mum and my mil are quite friendly!
Also, Bryn Williams the chef (from great British menu, Odettes). And Duffy. But she's a bit further away.

Zooey Deschanel, omg. I don't pay my hairdresser enough.

I also think I'd need a figure more like fleecy's (tall and willowy) to carry off that short stretchy IO dress. So I might give it a miss.

I'm not understanding the references to yellow cords.

blossoming · 17/10/2010 06:43

Oh poor you bunny. a long lie in with lots of tea required I think!

traceybath · 17/10/2010 07:08

Morning!

OK Esher - I really really like that blouse and can imagine it would look fab-u-lous on you Grin

Bloss - Bonsoir mentioned wearing yellow cords on a thread. I think she always sounds incredibly stylish in marni/tods etc which I do think you have to be very slender to carry off.

No shopping for me until we've decided what to do house wise.

Although actually have decided we definitely want a renovation project - just maybe not that one - who knows but money needs to be saved which is rather dull.

You all sounded so glam yesterday and am especially impressed at Bunny rocking her white jeans at 30 weeks pregnant with twins!

LTEC - I love the grey chloe but oh lordy - the yellow on facebook is utterly stunning. If that goes in the sale you have to get it! Also - have you lost more weight - looking at you on fb last night has inspired me to lose those last few lbs. Well you know once I'd put down the naan bread and wine last night Wink

Am going to get eyebrows done today and have a quick wander round Zara/Harvey Nicks but no spending Grin Shock

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2010 07:11

Bunny hope you had some sleep. Your description of all your children keeping you awake made me ah Smile. very sweet.

(Bloss Bonsoir describes pretty much perfect outfits in posts re what people are wearing and the cords stuck in my mind as particularly chic!)

I love all these extra details and resemblances posted from meet up. Helps build a lovely picture.

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2010 07:13

Ooh cross post Tracey. Yes agree about the Marni and Todds too.

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2010 07:15

Or Tods...Looks odd now

hf128219 · 17/10/2010 10:25

Bunny I too hope you got some sleeep. I agree that the comment re all your dc keeping you awake is lovely Smile

Tracey Oooh, a house project sounds lovely. Moving over to Property/DIY A&W?!

So nice to think of you ladies yesterday quaffing nice wine/tea/food in Selfridges.

I am wrapped up in Jeans and Brora fair isle jumper and about to head out for a walk and a picnic.

Have great days! Smile

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 11:24

hello all

omg totally agree re Bunny/ Naomi Watts - why did I not see it before?

"Mum's doing a lamb roast!"

love that all your girls were keeping you awake bun. Hope you get some rest later to make up for it

saw this and thought of NY

really dislike the styling with the boots but have seen a couple of girls wearing this and it is lovely.

funny moment to share from yesterday - as esher got up to leave - she pulls her leather jacket on and looks, bemused, at the sleeves. I say "ooh that's nice - is it new?" She says - no actually, I think it's yours! Grin

We hadn't had that much wine, honest guv ... just a bit of seat-hopping .. but still felt as though there wasn't as much time as would have been nice to talk properly to everyone.

Better start planning the Xmas meet, no?

notyummy · 17/10/2010 12:26

LTEC - love that dress! I bought a stripey long dress in H and H last week, but didn't feel the need to confess to yet ANOTHER maxi purchase because it is mid-calf length. Purple, blue and orange stripe, which I know sounds horrid...but I like!

Ladies, I have no lovely clothes to donate to you all as my cast-offs are spectactularly unstylish and well worn I am afraid. What I do have, if anyone would like it, is an unopened bottle of REN Morrocan Rose Bath Oil. I ADORE the fragrance, and use the other products....but I never have baths! REN stuff is lovely, good quality and not cheap, so I would hate to see it sitting unused for any longer than it already has. Just late me know and PM me with details and I can post it on.

Oh it sounds like such a fun meet up. Glad you all had a lovely time. Loving the little snippets of info about everyone that are coming through, bet you got some turned heads being such a stylish gorg group all together!
cake - the yellow dress on fb looked stunning on you!
Love the fact as well that pretty much zero shopping got done as you were all so busy chatting Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 17/10/2010 14:11

It is wonderful that everybody had such a good time at the meet-up!

OllieWollieWoo · 17/10/2010 15:05

Fritzi - how was MB?! Hope your friend didnt bring up bringing her DC to your dinner party? We invited friends over one New Years Eve and they refused to put their DD aged 2 down to sleep all evening even tho our boys and other guests kids had gone down easily - it was a nightmare - she took over the whole evening as she got more and more tired and grumpy and her parent got more and more stressed!

Apple Farm was great - picked lots of apples & pears in the sun and had one of the nicest blueberry muffins I have ever eaten! Have now just gone through my present box to start making xmas present lists for all the kids I have to buy for - insert organised emoticon! Wardrobe clearout almost complete too - still need a big trying on session but wardrobe now looks organised and spacious! Sadly I didn't unearth any forgotten gems Sad!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/10/2010 16:08

ollie At the beginning I doubted whether it was worth going to a concert for that kind of music but he really is a great entertainer and charming too. Went for cocktails with my friend afterwards and had a good conversation (and too many drinks). Didn't come home until 1:45 Shock. Feel a bit tender today but otherwise fine. The posters you linked to yesterday are great. Great idea for Christmas presents.

And thanks to meet up ladies for sharing your little stories with us! I would sooo love to come over before Christmas and meet you all but I doubt that I will manage to organize the logistics of it all.

bunny Hope your girls gave you the chance to rest a bit during the day today. Hope DD is better soon.

cake Falke tights are a very wise buy. Mine lasted for the whole season last winter.

Why is marsha going to Paris to meet bonsoir?

esher Love that Monsoon dress and the blouse is great! It would go with so many of my things and I seriously consider ordering it.

tracey How exciting about the barn!

And hi fel1x, we missed you!

Hope you enjoyed your carrot cake and had a restful Sunday zembo.

traceybath · 17/10/2010 16:11

Ladies I am so rubbish - was being so good in the shops and then literally fell over a leoapard print silk shirt. This one but in grey Tis lovely and will look fab with jeans Grin

LTEC - saw this and thought of you.

Esher - I braved monsoon but couldn't see anything you'd linked to.

Got DD some sweet stuff in Zara - the skinny cords in khaki that I think you mentioned a while back Bunny.

traceybath · 17/10/2010 16:54

Oh was also very very tempted by this lovely and soft and drapey.

blossoming · 17/10/2010 17:25

traceybath, wasn't there a no shopping for two years clause mentioned yesterday?!
On a similar vein have just had a cold roast beef sandwich with leftovers. Back on the wagon tomorrow.

ollie, you are so organised. I may steal some ideas from you!

traceybath · 17/10/2010 17:34

There was Bloss Blush

But you know I figure it would be dangerous to go cold-turkey Wink

Tried on loads of stuff and luckily didn't like most of it.

These were very nice but not in my size.

OllieWollieWoo · 17/10/2010 18:04

Blossoming - I get it from my Mum - who thinks I am most unorganised so you can imagine how organised she is (she gave me our chritsmas presents all wrapped up in April Shock

Re not buying stuff for 2 years - I think this thread was partly inspired by the one in Jan about not buying anything for the year - I didn't post on it (I know my limits!) but wonder if anyone succeeded?

traceybath · 17/10/2010 18:24

Oh and yes lets please plan christmas meet-up so I can make sure its in DH's diary and he can't get out of looking after the children.

Am guessing Saturdays in December are going to be very booked up - I can do any apart from the 4th at the moment.
