MarshaBrady · 17/10/2010 18:40

Fritzi it was a hair thread in s&b.

Day with loads of friends at a party. Some young models. Oh my there's good looking parent and model really. I was strangely fascinated.

blossoming · 17/10/2010 18:41

Imagine if there was a w&a Christmas party. What a hoot that would be! And amazing outfits for sure. Maybe a virtual one, with virtual outfits!

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 18:42

wow tracey I love that blouse - really want a pussy bow blouse esp after the disappointment of the mango one but yours is out o my size .. did we ever hear back on the A-wear one that rufus spotted?

fritzi so pleased you had a lovely evening and OWW you are super-productive!! Bloss after seeing you yesterday I think you can afford a day off the wagon!!

re weight loss tracey no am staying fairly steady atm but would like to lose half a stone by b'day/ Xmas

gosh it really has been a weekend of three thirds here this weekend - quality family time with all 5 yesterday until I left at 2pm .. then quality "me time" and today - back to being a sole parent as dh is working. Hopefully at some point I will get some QT with dh but by the time I got home last night he was immersed in footy and I was too busy doing post meet-up chat Grin

traceybath · 17/10/2010 18:44

LTEC if you lose another half a stone there will be nothing left of you!

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 18:56

pshaw ... I think I may have to buy that chloe dress .. it's sure fooled you - a snip at the price!!

blossoming · 17/10/2010 18:59

I agree with traceybath, ltec. You are already super model skinny and all clothes look amazing on you.

Dh stressed with work so to ease his workload I told him he could work today, 8-12, 2-6, 8-10! It was going well till at the furthest point of our walk, dc1 urgently needed a poo, and we had to phone dh to come and fetch him!

I had to laugh this morning in thanksgiving service. One family have identical twin boys and a younger boy. All three were dressed the same! Not for you bunny?!

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 19:37
Blush

bloss you need one of these - it's saved my bacon on more than one occasion. Including when the call of nature has been shouting for, ahem, me Blush Grin

Is Sunday off limits as a potential Xmas meet up day?

mrsjuan · 17/10/2010 19:42

just lost a massive catch up post and no time to write it all again.

Gist: glad you all had fab meet up - will begin plucking up courage now in preparation for potential xmas meet up as you all sound so beautiful and stylish!

Cake - love the yellow chloe dress, agree you look super super skinny.

Tracey - Grin at you + clothes in caravan.

Am supposed to be working so hello to everyone else - will attempt to catch up (again) during DD's nap tomorrow.

Fleecy · 17/10/2010 19:55

cake I keep one of those in the car boot at all times - a godsend for days out and slightly-longer-than-expected trips!

I can't do Sat 4 or 11 or Sun 19 for a meet-up but can do others. Want to do it again now!

traceybath · 17/10/2010 20:04

Sundays good for me Smile

I know - honestly MrsJ - DH keeps saying but it would be a mobile home! I mean - now suggesting a small cottage in interim.

However all depends on money etc. But quite fun to speculate on for a few days.

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 20:05

tracey I know someone who has done it .. the barn conversion, the mobile home etc

It was the end of their marriage. And she didn't even have any clothes to speak of.

eshermummy · 17/10/2010 20:21

Cake - love the ££££ sweater dresses. If you like the chain on knitwear detailing I bought a cute grey cardigan with gold chain trim from H&M in Spain over the summer which i think is on their website now.

Yes, yes, yes to Bunny looking like Naomi Watts. I didn't know who Zoooey Whatsit was but yes, I do agree that there is a certain likeness to Bloss.

Tracey - I bought that Topshop sweater last week in the grey. I think I did link to it (but maybe not, can't quite remember). I haven't actually worn it yet but it is lovely and soft.

I like that Kookai blouse too. I ordered and sent back the ASOS leopard pussybow blouse as being too brash a print and too polyester so that one is tempting me. What size did you get? Am not at all sure on Kookai sizing.

blossoming · 17/10/2010 20:21

Thanks for the potty link!
I want to do another meet-up too. I feel like I've just been on a very good first date! I'm sorry I didn't get to speak more to choo and notyummy though. I'll see what you all decide and see if I can make it then. I don't want to be a consideration in the plans iyswim. So far I have mothers group party in the golf, with karaoke (could I make this up?!) on the 17th.
Not quite the social life of some of you!

bunnymother · 17/10/2010 20:24

Tracey - I love to save money. But no way would that extend to me living in a caravan. I have got the slim leg cords from Zara for DD, but think yours are a touch different - the ones I got come in only dusty pink, grey and camel. The khaki/olive ones have a little extra detail? Am thinking I should get DD another pair of camel ones for her current size - they are so cute and versatile!

Bloss - hmm. Most definitely will NOT be dressing my girls the same. Not that I judge those who do Wink. Met ID twins the other week. Not only dressed the same, but have v similar names Shock. Well, that should help them see themselves as individuals Hmm. Goodness, I better get off my high horse! Oh dear - emergency rescue by DH of DS. Poor DH, and poor DS.

traceybath · 17/10/2010 20:24

Oh no LTEC! However we are risk-takers and always do risky stuff like have a baby, buy a house and start a business thereby reducing income by 75% and have lived to tell the tale (just) Wink

Esher - I thought you had bought that jumper in the grey - it is very lovely indeed.

I got the blouse in the size 8 and the grey colourway is lovely too.

eshermummy · 17/10/2010 20:27

Tracey - I thought of your barn conversion today as the house in the sunday times Homes section (the bit where Daisy Waugh reviews a house for sale) is some wreck needing renovation in your part of the world-ish.
If not for you, then maybe Dolcee.
Apart from the house, the main focus of the piece is yellow cords, which is also made me think W&A Wink

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2010 20:33

Need to read the Sunday Times still.

There was a bit about camel and red which interesting.

Tracey the people we know who did a barn made loads of £. So it can be good.

Then we can talk about good places to get excellent design if you do... Smile

blossoming · 17/10/2010 20:34

Ooh, l&l scarf has sold!!

rufus101 · 17/10/2010 20:41

Hi all. Have been AWOL for a few days. Nightmare day and a half without water (None whatsoever), which finally got fixed Friday afternoon, and then I had DD's 7th birthday party yesterday. Made a castle cake which went down marvelouslly. Everyone was very impressed! I had succumbed to getting someone in to do some "entertaining". (Usually I'm very against organised entertainment for kid's parties, and organise games, get them to run around and self entertain. ) I got this person who was supposed to come and do "nail art" for an hour, so I hadn't organised anything like pass the parcel, treasure hunt etc. She NEVER TURNED UP! I was aghast! Luckily my sister had gotten a super deluxe make up kit for DD (which I had been a bit Hmm about) and we used that to "entertain". I don't know if some of the parents were too impressed to collect their DD looking like a contender for Little Miss Universe.

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time at the meet up. I am very Envy I am definitely planning on going to your hairdresser now Blossoming!

Cake I haven't managed to see that blouse from A wear in RL. Keep intending to order online, and forgetting.

Carciofi sorry to hear you're a bit blue, hope you pick up soon.

And Verity well done you on your distinction!

blossoming · 17/10/2010 21:08

Hi rufus. Sounds like some party! Unbelievable your entertainment didn't show though. Well recovered!
My hairdresser asked if I was doing anything nice so I told him I was meeting some very glamorous friends for lunch. He did me proud!

The strangest thing I saw yesterday, and a story dc1 loved, were people sitting with their feet in fish tanks with little fish nibbling the dead skin in the middle of selfridges!

happilyeverafter · 17/10/2010 21:22

Have really enjoyed reading details of meet - all sounds so glam!

Dull weekend here, finally tried shorts/tights, wore denim shorts, navy&cream breton, navy tights, red suede pumps and a grey longline cardi. DH approved but I went to visit my granny and laddered the tights on her 'emergency' chair.

Lovely compliment on Friday from Headmistress at DD school who regularly makes positive remarks on my outfits, she said "girl, you've got style" as I walked out which made my day.

rufus that is so poor of the entertainment not arriving for a child's party. Glad it didn't spoil the day. My DD turns 4 this week and is counting down the sleeps!

eshermummy · 17/10/2010 21:36

Marsha - I saw the red/camel thing too and wondered if it might work for me too.

Rufus I can't believe your party entertainer was a no-show but well done for improvising.

I didn't get a chance to do any trying/looking/shopping yesterday but if I had I would have tried to check out

this top and this skirt in rl.

What do you think of the skirt ladies? It's £££ for what it is but it looks as if it could be a really useful thing on a cost per wear basis.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/10/2010 21:38

esher The HL top is gorgeous. Not sure about the skirt though, sorry.

LetThemEatCake · 17/10/2010 22:09

I'm with fritzi on that one esher ... too much going on with that skirt for my liking, I think

I said something about red & camel on here a while back when I got my red lanvin dress (planned to wear with camel coat, not that that ever eventuated!!) and someone here told me I'd look too 70s (who was that??!!)

Dh & I just been reading Style supp, laughing at fact that he is very much like JO in middle class couple number one whereas I am a wannabe JJ type in couple 2. (and I used to have DJ boyf called Dan .... Grin)

fritzi do you think you could come to meetup, I would so love to meet you and OWW! how about you rufus? well done on the party, quelle shocker with the entertainment but I love the idea of all the little girls being dolled up and their parents a bit WTF?? You must post pic of cast;e cake, we love a themed cake here, we do!! what do you have planned for dd happily?

mippy · 17/10/2010 22:32

Hello. This is my first post on one of these threads, so sorry if it's like throwing up on the curtains...

Where does one shop now if they are in their late twenties and want to stop looking like a teenager but not mumsy? I'm an hourglass 16, which rules out Topshop, Oasis and H+M (don;t like much of their stuff atm anyway). Dorothy Perkins I liked a few years ago but now it all seems really cheap and acrylicy and full of confusing 'brands'. I do like Monsoon and White Stuff but am conscious that they are aimed at somewhat older folk. Uniqlo and Gap ok, but often quite dull.
